That's what many Trumpsters said here.

Huh, interesting. The election is over. Trump lost. Biden won.

But as of now, according to Worldometers, with the day not even over, we got 123,784 new cases, an absolute daily record, and 1,180 deaths. Very similar numbers yesterday. And almost as high two days ago.

So, come again? Maybe it wasn't a hoax after all?

    Well, we told you so.

Without a doubt Trump dropped the ball (repeatedly) on virus control. Its also true however that given the role of the States in public health measures whoever won the last election was going to face an uphill struggle to contain it. Oh, virtually anyone could have done better than Trump, but how much better? Enough to successfully contain it?

And here's the big trap for Binden. He's been promising form early on in the campaign to follow the advice of the medical authorities and institute measures to contain the virus. Well based on the latest figures - 'containment' in any general sense of the word is not longer an option. That ship has sailed. Like fighting a forest fire, if you get your assets organised and in place early you can contain and control an outbreak. By the time you have a 200 mile wide fire front? 'Containment' is not longer an option. All you can do is move into 'protection' mode and try and save as many homes and properties etc as you can until the fire burns out.

Well now 'President' Biden is going to have to do a pretty effective tap dance around what exactly he means when he talks about controlling or containing the virus. Certainly he can implement measures to protect the most vulnerable members of the population e.g. the elderly, those with weakened immune systems etc. But every man and woman in the country? No way, not when such a huge proportion of the population shows zero interest in even trying to co-operate with public health measures.

Want to put money on how long it will take after Biden declares victory for Trump supporters to start screaming about how Biden is not doing enough to contain the virus

Post election political posts are concentrating on traditional Democrat districts reporting over 120% voter turnout. Something going on there you think? Even counting dead people that's huge.

No. More Democrats responded to calls to vote early than did Republicans. And if there is hard evidence of large scale fraud this election by all means present it. There never has been in any previous election and that is fact. The stats on voting fraud are clear cut. The fraud % is minute, something like .0009%.

But, he will be given a free pass by the Democrat media. We won't get the nightly solemn report from ABC/NBC/CBS/NPR about the number of covid infections.

Not really, as long as he follows up his rhetoric on the virus control with a solid plan, based on the best medical advice (which is presented publicly) then invests the money and resources needed to implement it? Well he can at least say he's done everything practicable.

And if some States for partizan political reasons don't wish to co-operate? well he can't force them to - not at least without Congressional/Senate/Court backing so he can always (with some real legitimacy) blame them & Trump for the current virus situation and the failure to stop it before it got out of hand. And lets face it he has plenty of material there to work with.

His big risk is that he can't be publicly seen to over-promise - for reasons I gave earlier. He's going to have to be very cautious about that. But do all that and there's probably not going to be a lot to criticize from the perspective of left/center media. Right wing media? By and large nothing he can do (except perhaps resign) will please them, no matter how well his anti-virus policies work.

Lastly , it looks like the vaccines will come riding to the rescue early next year so he can do what ALL Administrations (Republican or Democrat) do, legitimately or not - claim credit for something successful that started during the previous administration's term (albeit Trump had little to do with that either).

Poor Donald next year he's going to see all those vaccines rolled out - if only the election had been scheduled then.

you mention partisan politics and that is what covid has been for a while. You mention states who don't listen.

Look around the world; killing economies by locking down did not eradicate the virus as they are again locking down. If it fails once, go for failure again.

Not everyone bows to the God of lockdown or God of mask

why not read the Great Barrington Declaration and read it with an open mind, put partisan politics aside

Problem wasn't the lock-down, it was the follow up.
Doesn't do much good to lock-down if then half the population starts running around without social distancing or making and increased hygiene.

Countries like South Korea, Taiwan, China, Vietnam followed up their lockdowns with serious follow up measures once they re-opened.
Countries like the US, Britain, France followed up their lock-downs with lax restrictions.
The results are clear and predictable.

    thank you

lockdowns did not eradicate the virus. That was the point and you agreed

the virus exists around the world, still today. Try reading the Great Barrington Declaration

Lockdown PLUS continued hygiene measures HAVE drastically reduced the virus count in a number of countries.

Lockdown MINUS continued hygiene measures have resulted in far poorer results.

Countries with NO lockdown have experienced poor results in the long run.

In 1960 the Democrats stole the election from Nixon using fraud in Illinois and Texas.

ding ding ding, we have a winner

hygiene is more important than any lockdown or silly mask. The freakin virus can live upwards of 28 days on some surfaces. No mask or killing of the economy will protect you from that. THe useless masks give the wearers a false sense of security

Accept in the real world, perfect hygiene is impossible, so masks protect not the wearer so much as those around the wearer. ergo, masks
serve a useful purpose. Or next time you get an operation, just ask the surgeon to leave his mask off and instead, just not breathe ...

The lock downs were not supposed to get rid of the virus, but to slow down the infection rate.
They are and were about buying time
After the lock downs people did not follow the guide lines and behaved as if the virus were gone.
Will there been a stringent lock down, I doubt it, because we might have a vaccine approved by December.
A federal mask mandate would only effect federal offices and buildings, including airports.

nice attempt at a similarity except a surgeon is working on folks who are "opened up"

    surely you understand the difference???

the mask provides a false sense of security and gives an appearance of doing something, albeit useless

The at-risk need to take precautions and again, the super majority with co-morbidities will only experience mild symptoms if they become infected.

I suggest reading the Great Barrington Declaration and stop attempting false comparisons or parroting the Democrat talking points.

Once surrendered, liberty will never be returned. You may be willing to surrender your liberty for a false sense of security. Those of us who appreciate the value of liberty, will not.

    umm, no

the lockdowns were to provide time for firms like the My Pillow guy, Ford motor co and others to tool up to make respirators and PPE.

That has been done and in fact, the hysteria about lack of respirators was just that, hysteria.

The virus now must do what it's going to do. We cannot stop it any more than we can stop the earth from its cyclical cooling and warming
