    Yep, that's what Obama said.

    As if the CIA were playing golf every Sunday, going on expensive taxpayer funded vacations to Brazil, clowning around with the press at White House Correspondents Dinners, appearing on Oprah, filling out their NCAA basketball brackets on ESPN and other questionable activities instead of searching for Osama bin Laden as they were supposed to.

    It's been fully explained in the news reports I have been reading. Have you not been keeping up. It started there and then was confirmed by the 2nd in command they had captured and gave us the start to tracking down the courier and eventually leading us to OBL.

    And please cite your evidence that waterboarding, an actual waterboarding not a threat to do so, was used 183 times in one month on KSM.

    Actually, we got the Upper echelon in the Bali Bombing, Hambali and Bin Laden. And the Indonesians helped you hunt the others down. The Taliban gave Al Qaeda safe haven in Afghanistan. And then there is the big difference in that Al Qaeda didnt attack Australia, they did attack the US.

    No matter how much you don't want to give the Bush administration credit, it started with them and their programs for handling detainees and garnering information from them.

    Well maybe you should devote more energy to so you don't repeat myths.

    Despite Reports, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed Was Not Waterboarded 183 Times

    The New York Times reported last week that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, was waterboarded 183 times in one month by CIA interrogators. The "183 times" was widely circulated by news outlets throughout the world.

    It was shocking. And it was highly misleading. The number is a vast inflation, according to information from a U.S. official and the testimony of the terrorists themselves.

    A U.S. official with knowledge of the interrogation program told FOX News that the much-cited figure represents the number of times water was poured onto Mohammed's face -- not the number of times the CIA applied the simulated-drowning technique on the terror suspect. According to a 2007 Red Cross report, he was subjected a total of "five sessions of ill-treatment."

    "The water was poured 183 times -- there were 183 pours," the official explained, adding that "each pour was a matter of seconds."

    Which part?

    And do you ever note how Obama likes to take credit for telling other people to do things and then he sits back waits and then takes credit for the success if it appears?

    No one had to tell the CIA in 2009 to go get OBL. It was all done through intelligence and had nothing to do with troop dispersals in the region.

    I don't think that we can trust the word of people willing to torture other people. They're little better than animals.

    I have yet to hear that KSM is the person from whom we got the name of the courier. It would rather mean to release the nameof the person we broke with waterboarding, if he has been released.

    Yeah, right. Osama bin Laden was at the same location for 5-6 years. He grew complacent knowing that he never really was a top priority for the Bush Admin and knew that the Bush Admin had let the trail grow cold.

    Yeah, it should have raised red flags when KSM told them that the couriers' code names were Sleepy, Dumpy, Dopey, Sneezy etc.

    I myself have congratulated Obama, Bush, all involved. There is no way all these people involved from the start did not contribute. If you do not give credit to all, then you are using this as Political gamesmanship, its foolish this is a time for joy for all. Hell, if there was ever a time BOTH sides accomplished something,,,THIS IS IT!, BE PROUD!

    To put things in simple terms for any "progressives" reading along, here's what the EITs revealed after 3,000 American civilians were slaughtered in cold blood by Al Qaeda:

    • FACT: EITs produced 3,000 of the 6,000 critical counter-terror intelligence reports only after normal techniques had proven fruitless;

    • FACT: EITs used on Zubaydah revealed KSM's identity as a mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks;

    • FACT: KSM ratted out a number of mass-murderers including Hambali;

    • FACT: Hambali's brother ratted out a cell bent on "9/11 Wave 2" on the West Coast;

    • FACT: Zubaydah also revealed Padilla and his plan to detonate a simplistic dirty bomb in Washington, DC;

    I posted another link about it, yesterday.

    Current and former U.S. officials say that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, provided the nom de guerre of one of bin Laden’s most trusted aides. The CIA got similar information from Mohammed’s successor, Abu Faraj al-Libi. Both were subjected to harsh interrogation tactics inside CIA prisons in Poland and Romania.
