Besides, an abortion only reduces some of the negative effects resulting from rape. It doesn't get rid of all of them. (Heck, for some women it can even end up compounding the problem and making things worse)
Something that half of women voluntarily choose can't be that bad. Heck, the majority of women voluntarily choose to be pregnant, just in a different situation. (It's not really the pregnancy itself that is so much the issue here, but rather the circumstances in which it has happened. Let's not lose sight of that)
If only 1% of the abortions are due to rape, and rape is being used as the reason to justify all abortions, then it stands to reason that the society has decided that it is better for 99 fetuses to die who were not conceived in rape, in order for 1 woman who was raped not to have to continue her pregnancy.
