    http://www.nature.com/news/skull-suggests-three-early-human-species-were-one-1.13972

Scientific journalism is great at hyping stories and creationists are great at jumping onto those stories to "disprove" evolution, an old Earth, etc.

And even if this story was absolute proof that our history of human evolution was wrong, that isn't the same thing as disproving evolution or that human evolution didn't happen. As far as I know, if this study is accepted, Homo Sapiens, Neanderthals, and Denisovans would be collapsed into one species. That isn't damning evidence against human evolution or evolution at all since species are basically arbitrarily defined anyways.

    Dodge noted.

BTW, I'm still waiting for you to answer my question of what would consitute acceptable evidence if Jesus really did walk on water 2,000 years ago. If you can't come up with an answer, this dialogue is a waste of time.

I have, their founders are all dead in their graves. Why is it that Jesus' grave, or even a tradition of one, has never been found?

Why are miracles the defining point? Eyewitnesses in Islam put Mohammad as a prophet bringing "God's word". Do you not believe God's word?

He went out of his way to say that anyone who tried to contradict anything he said (IE Jesus's apostles) were servants of Satan and that if people followed their teaching, they were damned. He then went on to blatantly contradict things that Jesus said while he was alive and claimed to be the sole source of doctrine. When people tried to call him out on his contradictions, he dismissed them and boasted of the fact that he knew nothing about Jesus's actions while he was alive. Everything he did reads like a cult leader trying to co-opt a religion.

And no, he saw a blinding light. Read Luke and Acts.

    I wouldn't be a Nicene. I don't truck with the Pauline Heresy.

Likely the same reason Krishnas grave is strangely missing.....Imagine that.

It is also perplexing that no one has ever found a dead Bigfoot.

That isn't how the US became Christian, or how it is spreading throughout the world now. See Prof. Phillip Jenkin's book, "The Next Christendom: The Coming of Global Christianity".

We're talking about historically attested to people. All the enemies of early Christianity had to do was produce His body to end it all, and they couldn't do it. Wouldn't ONE person have betrayed this 'conspiracy' you seem to believe in? And you guys say we're the ones who are irrational.

Which is really besides the point I was making. So, do you accept that Christianity was spread by the sword originally?

It seems you are ignoring the "verifiably authentic, triple blind and peer reviewed." That is more than a mere eye witness account. But where are the verified contemporary accounts of Jesus or any of his acts? The bible does not contain any. We only have the claims of those who created a cult several decades after his supposed death.

    How about Hitler?
    Perhaps Noah?

Were they all beamed up to heaven as well?

Anyone can say they are God, the miracles and prophecy fulfillment are a true indication of divine power. John 20:30 "Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."

Exactly what Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by Me."

    From Wikipedia:

"The Buddha's body was cremated and the relics were placed in monuments or stupas, some of which are believed to have survived until the present. For example, the Temple of the Tooth or Dalada Maligawa in Sri Lanka is the place where the right tooth relic of Buddha is kept at present."

I've never heard of a relic of Jesus, have you?

Your link does nothing to discredit the idea that scientists have been examining only one species all along. In fact, the author clearly states the data is sufficient for rethinking human evolution. I don't think it's damning myself, but it does show that a lot of people are convinced of something that is not a scientific fact. There is no clear evidence linking hominids to humans. That is a fact. Yet the prevailing convention wisdom, based largely on cultural influences, is that we evolved from apes. Simply untrue.

Does anyone claim they rose from the dead?

    - - - Updated - - -

No, Christianity was originally a victim of the sword.

What conspiracy? Christianity was one of many minor cults.

The Gospels were not written until decades after Jesus' supposed death. At what point would you expect that someone was supposed to go find his remains? How were they expected to find them?

    Jesus makes no such claim.

He makes no claims as he wrote nothing.

How do you do "verifiably authentic, triple blind and peer reviewed" 2,000 years ago? I'm asking YOU if you saw the events if you would become a Christian. You're rigging an impossible standard, it is more goalpost moving. Even if we had film of a miracle, the skeptics would say it was faked or whatever.

"Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." 20The Jews therefore said, "It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?" 21But He was speaking of the temple of His body. 22When therefore He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken." John 2:19-21

His words were recorded, just as much of history is known. King Tut never wrote anything either.

The one where skeptics say the disciples made up the resurrection story and hid the body. Charles Colson pointed out that the Watergate conspirators couldn't hold their story together for even a short time, under threat of comparatively mild punishment, yet the disciples died rather than deny his resurrection. Something changed them from a frightened band of cowards to a force nobody could silence. The resurrection is a plausible explanation for that transformation.

When the first claims of His resurrection were made, and the enemies of Christianity were desperate to stop it.

By paying someone off, like they did with Judas.

The poster was talking about what he would accept as proof having witnessed. There is no goalpost moving. You ignored the entirety of what he said.

A film alone would not be sufficient proof for such an extraordinary claim. There are pictures and films of bigfoot, loch ness and UFOs. Do you accept all of those as conclusive?

Only if you discard all testimony to the contrary. That is circular reasoning.

What makes testimony about Mohammad a lie but the stuff said about Jesus truth?4

And Paul expanded that to "No one comes to Jesus except through me...just make sure to ignore those servants of Satan who actually lived, walked, and talked with Jesus every day because clearly they know nothing about his beliefs or wishes."

Well for one, Jesus was circumcised and supported circumcision as part of Judaic law (which he came not to destroy, remember). Whereas Paul in Galatians 5:2 says that anyone who is circumcised or allows themselves to be circumcised is rejecting Christ. That is a blatant contradiction and screams of a conman making up bull(*)(*)(*)(*) to justify his cult while clearly not knowing anything about the beliefs of the guy whose religion he is co-opting.
