Absolutely correct. This is the answer. And this is truth. Best wishes.

I said there was mathematical and physical truth but that is not all-binding. These are relatively simple cases dealing with discrete objects. The question was about truth in general and that defies experiment. We can not prove everything with experiment or practice. The more we get involved with fundamental science the more bogged we are. And finally receive the results we had intended to receive but they are getting more and more controversial and the further we go the more hypotheses we get and fewer facts at that. Modern fundamental science is in its final crisis.

Fundamental science is in its final crisis. We are not talking about separate facts but about truth in general. All-binding truth.

You agree that mathematical and empirical Facts exist, but you wonder about truth in other areas.

    John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth, for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him;

    Truth is inside us already.
The memories way back are inside our Unconscious mind.

The Unconscious mind has lived through one life experience after another.
In it is the whole experience of our species, remembered from actual experiences way back to when first evolved,... and even further, according to Freud and Carl Jung.

We know the Truth about things long before we need study or consciously figure them out.
    Been there.
    Did that.

Yes, that is the Christ and hence, our only savior.

How will you get yourself into heaven? On your own merit or via a scapegoat?

Revisit substitutionary atonement or vicarious redemption and scapegoating with me just to refresh your memory.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNtBkOXItqw

I am not an atheist but Satan and Christians want atheists to embrace barbaric human sacrifice and the notion that we should profit from punishing the innocent instead of the guilty. Scapegoating IOW.

In reality, if God did demand such a barbaric sacrifice, he would be sinning as we all know that it is immoral to kill the innocent. God knows this yet Christians do not seem to. You do. Right?

Those with good morals will know that no noble and gracious God would demand the sacrifice of a son just to prove it's benevolence. When you die, Satan will ask you; how was your ticket to heaven purchased? With innocent blood?

If and when you say yes, you become his.

    -----------------------------------

The other option in scriptures, a moral one, is shown here. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Scriptures indicate that God prefers repentance to sacrifice and as God’s will is supreme and cannot be thwarted, this will come to pass.

    ---------------------------------

It is a special distorted Christian view of love that sees, --- as the greatest act of love possible, --- their God condemning them, and then turning and demanding his son’s deaths and thus corrupting God's perfect justice. A bribe set by God as judge himself for himself. This is of course ridiculous.

Christians have an insane view of love, IMO.

Would you express your love for humanity or those you love by having your own child needlessly murdered?

Or if convinced that a sacrifice was somehow good, would you have the moral fortitude to step up yourself to that cross instead of sending your child?

    Your cowardly God did not.

    Regards
    DL

I've explain things to you long ago, and it was a waste of time, since you are just anti-Bible and could care less about changing that view.

Just keep posting your nonsense, and I will respond so others can see how foolish you are in this.

Yes. Many have explained that immoral penchant of shedding ones responsibilities and pushing them unto another.

As a Gnostic Christian, I am not anti-bible. In fact, it helped me push my apotheosis.

It is literal reading of myths that I am against as it is what had Christians killing my founders over.

The bible is great. Literal reading makes it evil.

You seem to create your own religion. Most Christians would say that it is not Christian belief but a delusion. There were many people like Leo Tolstoy who did it. May be when you and your trouble meet you will reconsider you views. I do not know you but it usually happens to people who are proud of their achievements and intelligence but as a rule they are disappointed. And see no sense in life. And that is the moment for thinking it over. Let us wait and see. Hope you will be a chosen one to see the Truth.

Up jumps the question: Who or what entity is the Son of God? Was Jesus (the flesh and blood man) the Son of God? Was "Christ" the Son of God? Figure it out and get back with us.

Truth is in th eye of the beholder (figratively speaking). A peson's truth is what they believe it to be. Fact is another matter.

Come on folks... surely someone out there in this forum knows what truth is. Give a helping hand and lets all do like the mission of the scientists and seek out 'truth'... if we can first define it.

Religion is like everything else when it comes to the truth. When I was born in 1934 the average life expectancy of a white male in America was 61. Now it's 78. The truth about anything is in a constant state of change:

For more than a thousand years the church required infant baptism. When ordinary folks began to doubt that God would burn an infant and their attendance/donations began to falter the church made it optional. The scripture is still there but is never mentioned in that way.

For thousands of years the church conducted witch hunts and tortured and put to death a conservative estimate of 100,000 innocent young women because they had been accused of witchcraft. When the general population caught on to the fact that there is no such thing as a witch the church backed away and shut up. The scripture is still there.

For thousands of years the church supported slavery, often accommodated it. When ordinary folks realized slavery is a practice for which there is no justification...guess what? The church backed away and never mentions the numerous scriptures in the bible which lend support to the practice.

Now the thing is hell itself. After millions of preachers preaching hundreds of millions of hell fire and brimstone sermons and the very concept of eternal torture and misery for non believing individuals making mistakes while living their lives has become extremely distasteful to the common man they are adamant in their insistence that it's all been errors in translation and are now preaching that hell is merely the eternal separation of man from god. All the scripture is still there but once again they have changed their position.

Maybe all that flex when needed is why they have more money and real property than any other entity in the world.

    That's the Truth!

There is a difference between 'The Truth' and Truth. One can only arrive at 'The Truth' once it is complete, and unvarnished. You can know some truths about a topic, but not 'The Truth'.

Heres a hypothetical: A coastal county has a factory that makes paper grocery bags, and has been in business for 100 years. There was a revolution in the grocery bagging industry that moved the majority of grocery bags to plastic. The owner of the paper bag factory, who is well connected in local government, colludes with his liberal government friend to fund and conduct a slanted study to conclude that plastic bags were bad for the coastal environment, and this study influenced legislators to outlaw the use of plastic bags in coastal counties, thereby helping his paper bag sales.

So: What is 'The Truth' when asking why the plastic bag ban was enacted?

    1) It was enacted to save the coastal environment.
    2) It was enacted to save the paper bag industry.
    3) It was enacted as a favor to the company's owner by corrupt politicians.
    4) It was enacted because of bad information from a slanted study.

All of the above are unquestionable 'truths', but only when they are presented together, in whole, do they become 'The Truth'.

A liberal politician may run on his support of environment citing his vote on the plastic bag ban and vilify his opponent for corruption.
A conservative my run on his support of local industry and jobs citing his vote on the plastic bag ban and vilify his opponent for the slanted study.

Both of the above politicians would be 'truthful', but neither are telling 'The Truth'.

Truth is just a fact as voiced by a human being. It is, "what is". Why try to complicate it?

In John 18:38 when Pilate asked Jesus "what is truth" Jesus couldn't answer him.

It seems that the scenarios you have presented have a reliance upon wishful thinking (as in the life expectancy) or a naturally occurring change in the way people think when viewing the whole spectrum of people still living (in other words an appeal to popularity). Who knows, in another 200 years, people might be of the persuasion that people such as us who spend numerous hours in internet gossip groups didn't have anything productive to engage themselves in.

Nothing is true, unless Incorporeal feels it doesn't need to be PROVED.

Then no proof is needed and nothing can contradict it and it is universal as well as factual truth.

    - - - Updated - - -

First, isn't that true of believers in religion?

    Second....PROVE your declaration. :)

Based upon the given scenario and the suggested responses, I would have to conclude that the person asking the question was seeking the truth, while all of the suggested responses are merely guesses that may or may not represent the truth.
