What's the criteria for getting into Heaven?

Righteousness is the criteria to enter into Heaven. However, we are all sinners. In and of ourselves, we are unrighteous -- but if you believe in God and put your faith in Jesus Christ, you will be credited with righteousness.

We are saved by faith in Jesus. We can do no works that will save ourselves. Ours is filthy rags compared to transformation he will cause in us. As a result of having a relationship with God, we will seek to please him and not continue in old sins. Faith without works is dead, but the works are to grow an existing relationship with God, not to do anything on our own or of our own merit. All who believe and grow a relationship with God have the assurance of salvation and heaven.

 

I've been to Heaven a number of times - all it takes is sunrise, a beautiful woman, a fast boat ...

Some people spend their entire lives wanting to get into heaven - so much so, they miss the fact that we have been in heaven
the entire time. It's a state of mind - not a place.

 

Perhaps existence itself is but a state of mind?

 

I believe that 100%. God has shown us the way for eternal life through His Son Jesus. . However we can't assume who will not and who will get into heaven as our Lord is merciful all knowing and has the Divine ability to break his own rules if it seems good to Him.

 

That’s for sure. It’s not our place to judge in that regard. There’s going to be some interesting surprises for some there for sure. Like Stephen stoned by a mob led by Saul who later became Paul. Uriah and David will be another one. Manasseh and Isaiah.

 

I've just finished the season 5 finale of Lucifer, and in it the requirements for getting into heaven seem to be not feeling guilt about the things you've done. Feel guilt and remorse and you end up in H-E-double hockey sticks. Maybe now that (spoiler!) Lucifer is God, he can add some needed reforms since the system seems to be broken.

 

He’s the o e who broke it at least as far as this earth is concerned. Satan rebelled against God and his law. He tried to overthrow Jesus and be like God. He fought a war in Heaven for control and lost being expelled to here. The rebellion he’s leading here has been defeated and it’s just a matter of time until the end of this world as we now know it. For the record I will not ever watch a second of the Netflix show you mentioned.

 

According to the biblical fairy tale, no one will go to heaven. On Judgment Day certain people may get into the giant bejeweled golden cube called New Jerusalem that sits on a waterless planet without any darkness,

Creating threads that bear False Witness would be a DISQUALIFIER for getting into heaven according to the Bible.

Believing that you can constantly bear False Witness and get away with it just because of having "faith in Jesus" makes the erroneous ASSUMPTION that the IMAGINARY deity is a FOOL who will IGNORE all of those instances of bearing False Witness.

When Jesus FORGAVE the prostitute he made it abundantly CLEAR that she was to "sin NO more" so his FORGIVENESS was CONDITIONAL on OBEYING the Commandments.

Apparently that aspect of his teachings is INCONVENIENT to those who imagine that if they just have "faith in Jesus" that is the equivalent of a "Get out of hell free" card and they can continue to "sin" with impunity.

Sad!

 

The rest of James quote says by our works, we will be known to have faith. So, the two work together. Then, there is Paul's knowledge about heaven divided up into 3 degrees of glory. Accepting the Gospel and its accompanying ordinances by those with authority is key to end up in the highest or 3rd Heaven or Kingdom in Heaven. Our gift from God is our resurrection and potential to be in Heaven in one of the 3 degrees of glory.

I suspect God and Jesus do appreciate good works though.
Faith is swell as long as our actions do not show we are not faithful.
Goebbels for example could have claimed he believes in Christ. But killing innocents sure made him look bad.

What you are doing today is works.

 

For a mentalist to believe that only shows that they are totally ignorant of what it means to be in Heaven.
They see a fast woman as heaven. They see the act of the sun rise as heaven. And they trust in Democrats.
Why not take a look at this witness to Heaven.

 

And Joseph Smith shot to death as a captive in an upstairs jail.

 

I think you and I are members of the same Christ loving group. Our Church has the name Jesus Christ in it.

 

Unless heaven is something we build by mimicking The Creator and following Jesus' teachings.

 

Vicarious redemption, the idea that God rewards you not based on good deeds but based on you accepting the torture and death of an innocent demigod, is perhaps the evil most core to the Christian religion today. Blood sacrifice isn't cool folks.

 

Yes... near death experiencer Dean Braxton said that during his one hour and forty five minutes of flatlining, he met an Aunt of his who he would never have guessed that she would have been there in heaven!

What's the criteria for getting into Heaven?

Prayer, and then leave the rest to God. If you can't pray, ask God to help you - or say the Lord's prayer.

 

You're wrong! God does not reward, He facilitates people in uniting with Him in His Kingdom - if they ask God that is. Asking is the key, because when one lessens their pride and asks, they become conducive to God's Grace. He will then be able to work their hearts and purify it, because that's how one attains the Kingdom of God. As Christ said; 'It is within us.'

 

Keep this thought with you at all times.
Contribute.
Pray for goodness to envelope you.
Act on those prayers.
What do you have to lose?

Reject GOD and see if he embraces you.
Trust that you have a purpose.
It should not be to reject GOD.

 

I do not accept GOD as the path for rewards, as I did not accept my parents for rewards. I love them both. They are with GOD. I have a desire to be reunited with them and those in Heaven.
