This ALWAYS happens when the militant atheists show up to peddle their strife among the faithful....they ALWAYS come across as hateful and intentionally mean-spirited while using the 'we just want truth' mantra to cover their void and Godless existences. They have the 'God hole in their souls' that they try to fill with the vanity of self-pride and their man-tainted version of reason, which is in rebellion & contrary to 'God having made Himself known in His creation.' And so the basic question for me concerning the differences is: "Why do so many see God in His creation, and certain ppl dont?' All civilizations that lived among nature 24/7 and gazed at clear, starry skies at night recognized a Creator; but those who live in artificial man-made dwellings and stare at computer monitors day & night, are blind to the same creation. Guess I just answered my own question....they have become remote from their 'roots' and have made themselves gods in their own little realms of influence.

But irregardless, a very Merry Christmas to the faithful & the humble who seek righteousness, who's Lord is their God & Savior...

An argument takes two sides to work.

Shouldn't you be wishing everybody a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday? Although it is true they don't have to accept it, the fact that you deliberately exclude them, doesn't seem very spiritual or Christ like??

It's been done several times this thread....including the OP. And what is the point of wishing such to those who purposely reject Christ and in fact wish to eliminate Christmas---which, BTW, is Latin 'mas' for the celebration of Christ.

So, are YOU going to wish everyone a 'Happy Winter Solstice' to appease them also, and as well take the light off of Christ....??

Methinks you would prefer "Seasons Greetings' so as not to 'offend' anyone....then you could be PC and fit into the world system.

    The True Meaning Of Christ-Mass

So While you argue the meaning of this and that, much of the original translation is lost in the shuffle, some folks believe it was planned that way.

Not many pagans running about these days, for it to have an actual meaning too. You do realize Pagans and atheists are two different things, right?

Nothing wrong with that either. I usually say, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Years, to everyone, and try not to bulk them all into one package. If they take offense so be it, none was given. Their loss.

What is amazing is the meaning of the song, actually is to stir thought provoking, communication, not ill feelings towards one another.

The term has been combined/hybridized as has been said, but liturgically per:

Where the Eucharist is the re-enactment of the sacrifice of the body & blood of Christ. 'Mas' as I grew up with as a Catholic boy (2 yrs of Latin in HS) was referred to in general as 'celebration.'

I have no probs with atheists celebrating the season, which has become more of a 'collective seasonal celebration' but with the intentional 'war of Christmas' that has erupted over the past several years to eliminate 'Christ' does irritate me. If one thing that our nation does have in it's ongoing demise from it's former greatness, is the watering-down of our religious heritage & foundation. Ppl can fight that statement tooth-and-nail, but it wont stop that truth from becoming more evident as time goes by..."professing themselves to be wise, they became as fools"...

And technically the word Christmas has become synonymous with government paid holiday, gift giving, family gatherings and celebratory office parties, where drunken merriment is the goal, whether the individual doing the merriment actually believes in the birth of the son of God or not.

Disrespectful inhumanity, bigotry, self centered individualism, and governments that cater to the rich is the declining factor in our humanity, our economy, our society.

Religious dogma is what kept us for thousands of years from reaching our full potential as humans, and our own inability to develop our maturity at the same pace as our technical advancements is our current downfall, IMHO. Man made organized religion of any type will never be our saving grace. Spirituality is a personal preference/choice that provides inner strength, individual satisfaction, but imposed beliefs no matter the true agenda, will only make matters worse, and set humanity back a thousand years if it is allowed to flourish. The founding fathers understood this well, and they were wise to understand this during the period of time they existed.

Well, I have met my savior and therefore there is no need for any begging on my part. Have you met Him?

The only thing that can 'save' you is yourself.

But you never met jesus, but you can convince yourself, in your own mind!

Sure there is. Lot's and lot's of reason but no one is holding you to the LIES you keep posting, repeating, saying, and ranting.

No one to meet to save a person from themselves.

Either you will be responsible for your actions, or you WILL NOT!

Overall; you are what you do.

    "save" me from what?

Now you are presupposing that you know all of my life experiences? Tell, me please. What did I do yesterday at 12:53 PM Central Standard time?

Are you calling me a liar?

How can one save oneself from oneself?

How quaint. Did you think that up all by yourself?

So then, the physical body is no longer a factor in what you are?

Then you are calling me a liar.

Then you don't know, you are therefore 'ignorant of the subject matter', the subject matter being me.

    My posts share what?

    What is 'false witness'?

That one what appears to be the biggest problem found within my posting?

What 'kid' and what 'pinball'? And what does either have to do with this thread?
