Well for example this is a lie But Bush's lies concerned WMDs in Iraq, and the false evidence he used to get the congress to vote in favor of invading Iraq. Those lies killed hundreds of thousands.
I'm going with Obama -- though it's a close call -- simply because it really was implied in general by a pathetically adoring mainstream media back in 2008 and for most of 2009 that this guy really and truly was extra-special among presidents being, more intelligent, more concerned, more caring, AND MORE ETHICAL than all but the top two or three presidents in the entire history of this nation . . . and so he simply had farther to fall from the 'Oh so towering' pedestal that his various brain-defective worshipers (both in and out of the media) placed him . . . and did so while he grinned and took full advantage of the unearned and outrageous accolades to march into the Oval Office as this nation's potential Political Messiah. It get's on a rational voter's nerves, it does.
but of coarse the lie that was repeated 27 times an unadulterated intentional lie to get a bill passed and to get reelected was no where to be found in your post Bush was guilty of not being more diligent and ignored counter agreements but he had intelligents that told him those WMD where there Clinton lied to keep his ass out of trouble and he is an embarrassment but that lie didn't effect or persuade any policy or law So how do you omit the biggest most sinister lie of them all ? only an ideologue sycophant would do such a thing
Are you talking about "if you like your plan...."? Good post, I admire the non partisanship. It was 40 times in fact. That is, if we are talking about the same "The Lie" as in "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan; please have a look at my posts at the time. You are right, if that is what you reference, the are pretty petty. But, please, to suggest I am in denial about the most dishonest president in modern history is painful to read.
I have never heard or witnessed or even read about a president who lies more than Øbama. I don't think any president in history plays as fast & loose with the facts as he does, or relies upon 'plausible deniability' like he does. I have voted since mcgovern, & none in the modern era lie as easily, are as shady, distort & demean, or deflect from his own responsibility. IMO, he is the worst president, ever. He is a black eye in the face of america, & will go down as either the worst president ever, or the one who brought the nation to final collapse. It has been said that a nation deserves the leaders it gets. We elected this clown twice. So yes, we deserve him. It might lead us to economic collapse, or the end of the currency, but if that is what we wanted... if freedom & prosperity were not enough... then we deserve what we got.
Your first sentence negates the requirement to read any further. George Bush. Liar of liars, and war criminal of all war criminals. Obama has a long LONG way to go to catch up with his transgressions.
Congress modified the budgets of both Presidents, increasing Mr. Carter's military spending, but reducing it from Mr. Reagan's budget requests. http://www.nytimes.com/1988/02/16/u...alk-vs-record-debt.html?pagewanted=all&src=pm Reagan wanted to cut money for needy families, but Congress cut back his already gargantuan military spending requests.
That was just defense spending. 1982 Reagan budget request $712B Congressional authorization $746B and of course the last two years 1988 Reagan Budget Request $1,024B Congressional Authorization $1,064B 1989 Reagan Budget Request $1,094B Congressional Authorization $1,143B http://www.ipi.org/docLib/reagandf.pdf-OpenElement.pdf
Reagan used tricks, he would project a rosy scenario, so his cuts were projected cuts to mandatory spending, he'd say unemployment is going down to 2% so budget 2% for unemployment, when it didn't go down, all that extra spending was automatic. The reality is that congress passed budgets that were at the end 4 or 5 billion less than what Reagan proposed. And for all your grasping at straws, about how if the country only spent what Reagan requested, we would have save 200 billion, Reagan tripled the debt.Through tax cuts and through heavy spending. Of course that doesn't stop slick talking right wing propagandists from selling you a bill of goods....again....
That's routine for DemocRATS. Stealing election is why they oppose Voter ID and other efforts to make elections more honest.
I am going with Thomas Jefferson. He died broke and his writings are so bi-polar that one could conclude that he had no convictions whatsoever. All the makings of a flim-flam man.
Obama by far. We knew we were getting a rich boy rightwing warmonger when Bush stole the election, but Obama surprised a lot of people. On the other hand, maybe I should have voted for Bush, since it might be even more dishonest to steal elections than to trick people into voting for you. Tough call.
Obama's been a major disappointment, no doubt but, the Bush administration had to have been THE most corrupt to date. Obama has a long way to go to catch up to his tyranny (but he's gaining quickly, admittedly). Could be much worse though. We COULD have outsourcing specialist, Romney in there and then, God knows, we'd all be starving by now.
Perhaps you're right. But if Americans ignore progressive candidates in favor of rightwingers in blue come the next two elections, we probably will have starvation. I can only hope we've learned our lesson.
I think the learning curve has passed. People's attention spans are very limited, so, wouldn't totally surprise me if the right got back in. I think we're all screwed, either way.
