My first thought was Biden. But after thinking through the hundreds of possibilities, I'm going with Sheila Jackson Lee.

No, the fact is that a quote was taken out of context and played over and over again as a soundbyte by willfully ignorant people, who happen to share your same view, and that the campaign against him had more outside money than any other race. Why? Because willfully ignorant, idiotic hyper-partisans drummed up a quote taken out of context.

Willfully ignorant people, you say. I say very intelligent people that knew when they were being demeaned, degraded & insulted. It was not taken out of context,Akin knew what he was saying & when given a chance to explain he really didn't take it back,he said he "mis- spoke",but he didn't apologize.I don't see how anyone could take "out of context,of what he said"
This is so "Elementary"---here,let me explain, there is no such thing as a "LEGITIMATE RAPE" rape is rape-you first have to get "any" person to believe that any "rape" would be considered Legitimate. You can't----Then you have to question the study itself, like, when a rape victim got pregnant-well there goes that study!
Hey, you can twist your rhetoric from now until doomsday & you would still be wrong....

It doesn't really matter. The concern should be about the people that elected them. There is none in the lot that is worthy to hold office so maybe that's what should be focused upon.

No, there are only really, really stupid voters.

Come on, thinking an island will tip over from too many troops and materiel is ludicrously idiotic, something with which a three year old teases grandpa.

This is what happens when you have a simple, first past the post two part system and the party machinery becomes imbedded in a particular neighborhood. This guy and his sinking islands, maybe hollow volcanoes for all we know, gets elected because all the sheeple in the district are told to vote for him....and they do.

It is a system that guarantees the cream will sink to the bottom. And it has. Do you think for one second Abraham Lincoln would have stood a chance of getting elected if he had got wrong the number of states? Would FDR's "new deal" have stood a chance if he had said there were 58 states?

Nope. We're dumbikng down for the myth of party ideology when in fact there's almost nothing between them. For every one of these guy's or a Nancy Pelosi on the left, there's a Dan Quayle or a Dubya on the right.

I have to respect a man who can get caught with his dick in an intern's mouth while under investigation for sexual misconduct AND come away with his marriage, his job, career intact AND his income increased tenfold.

And the ladies still love him...

    Will you please stop?

We can't have a reasoned and rational discussion about what the moron actually said and how it was exaggerated in an emotion charged topic like rape.

Please stop injecting intelligence into the debate. What's next, common sense in a discussion about gun control?

It would have been appropriate for the people who have attacked this guy to have at least read the executive summary. I note too that without having read it, you go on to attack what this politician said without the context of his apparently mistaken interpretation of the study, which was a very authentic study of trauma on the reproductive cycle of women.

But it goes Planet of the Apes because it is about abortion and not, say, a study of the fuel consumption of a B-3 bomber.

His reference to the study is valid. His conclusions are merely mistaken. The fact he mentioned "rape" in the emotion-charged, never ending debate over abortion makes him simply stupid....

About as stupid as suggesting Congressman Guam was using "dry humor" about the island tipping over. Nobody not brain damaged or very experienced with pharmaceuticals talks like that.

I have left over food in my refrigerator that is more capable than he.

aye, but there's the rub! See, to people like you, there's no such thing as a woman who lied about rape, which is why you find the term 'legitimate rape' so offensive. It assumes there is such a thing as a "rape" case that is not legitimate, and you can't handle that.

That's how I took what he said, as rape allegations are quite often false.

Now,who is taking this ridiculous "study" out of "context"-perhaps you should go read what the study says--hint,hint,it says nothing about a woman lying about being raped.
I do find the whole Todd Akin dialogue offensive-As I find your words offensive. Once again,a "man" trying to tell a woman, how her body works & trying to discredit women, because your line of thinking along with Akin is because a women gets pregnant when she is raped, she actually wanted the sex & is lying!
I stand proudly behind the voters in Missourri that kicked this cad to the gutter where he belongs!

Oh thanks for reminding me... Todd Akin isn't a Washington DC politician. Apparently liberals can't read.

How about the guy he beat?
How about the fact that he has a great job, good pay, great benefits, super pension plan, really, how stupid can he be?
I mean this is a clip of him, on a particular day, and I don't know the backstory, do you?
Was he putting the guy on? Did he just come back from a three martini lunch?
I'm not going to jump to the conclusion that a guy with a six figure income, super benefits, in a position that involves some competition to get there is a moron based on a 2 minute video clip.

So then based on your logic, George W. Bush would have to be smarter than Al Gore and John Kerry.

I recommend you reconsider your "logic" or admit George W. Bush is smarter than both of them.

Doesn't it suck painting yourself into a corner?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Then don't (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) about stupid politicians....think about it, how smart is it to start grilling generals after a three martini lunch. Because he was in the right place at the right time and kissed all the asses does not mean he has the intellectual horsepower to determine the best course of action for the ship of state.

Protest all you like, make all the excuses you want, an exhibition of stupidity like this intolerable, excusing it is disgusting.

It's always about the other guy with you people isn't it? Obama says stupid stuff and you all are firing off "what about Bush posts" as fast as fingers can type.

This guys talks about islands bigger than a few states tipping over and you guys are all about "what about the guy he beat?"

You just keep sounding more and more... stupid. And proving exactly what I've been saying - you can't comprehend that there'd actually be an illegitimate claim of rape.

    Right.

Like a guy who thinks this human failure is smart would have an idea what someone else is thinking.

    Now that's absolute genius.

So,now that you lost the Tod Akin argument-here comes the now HO-HUM ever predictable condescending name-calling-changing & twisting the conversation which is Oh,so typical of the GOPBAGGERS.
The voters in Missouri saw through this diatribe & kicked this cad to the gutter, thank goodness-I don't have anything else to say, except I stand by my posts-

Translation: crap, you got me. Time to move into personal attack mode.

Translator's note: If your intention was to point out he is smarter than me (total BS of course), you failed miserably.

I have to vote for Shela Jackson Lee.........

“The Congressional bonehead award goes to Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) who, on a visit to JPL, asked if Mars Pathfinder had taken an image of the flag planted there in 1969 by Neil Armstrong! Quipped Rep. Vernon Ehlers (R-MI) to the Washington Times: “We just don’t teach enough science.” Worse, Jackson Lee, who represents Houston, is a member of the House Science Committee’s space subcommittee. Perhaps some committee reassignments are in order…”

    OMG! :icon_jawdrop:

haha, isn't that great you feel qualified to declare yourself a winner? I'm not that stupid, but just to prove there's nothing to it: I won the argument and you lost.

You've already said it. You can't believe that a woman would ever actually lie about rape, and your argument is so pathetic and off-base that you have to create strawmen. No one's ever been killed in a duel with a scarecrow, pal.

No, of course, you are spewing hatred in a forum, and he's a congressman, you must be way smarter than him, in your own mind...

OK, let's assume I'm spewing hate. That is completely debatable, but let's go with that. What does that have to do with intelligence? Be careful now, as I am perfectly happy to provide you many examples of leftists spewing REAL hate.
