People in Balkans turned to Islam for the sake of being min. 400 years (some 600) under Ottoman rule. Constitution was Sharia, and generally people started turning to Islam for having more privileges in terms of wealth,safety (even though non Muslims were pretty much safe),etc. People in Bosnia (i.e today's Bosniaks as one of the ethnic society who got presence of ilyrian genetical tissue at most today) at pre Islamic time belonged to branch of Christianity called Bogumilstvo. Bogumils were proclaimed to be heretics by Roman Catholic Pope and were persecuted almost everywhere where Roman Catholic Church could reach them. Since most of their practices were similar to Islam, and as far as I remember they were persecuted for not for example they didn't ring a bell in a Church and taught by their past they turned to Islam. Bosnian Church and Krstjani were the one of the rare example where heretic Church was State accepted Church though.

If language is slavic, it doesn't make a person necessarily 100% Slavic. Our genetic roots are primary Ilyrian which is case with rest of the Balkans.
Btw why should one go back to 'roots' (root is discussable thing, according to that philosophy we should go to ... pagan roots? or homo neanderthalensis stage? If we're supposed to 'go back to roots' why don't you?

As you know, before Jesus there was no Christianty, all European nations are transformed to Christianty; Some of them by forcing, some of them wanted to use the advantage of it, some of them really beleived (small part). Before Muhammed there were no Islam and people coverted to Islam almost with the same reasons.

If you come to Turkey you can see many underground cities and caves in middle anatolia that Ancient Greeks used to be protected from Christians not to be converted, after 700 years Christians used to protect themselves from Muslims not to be converted. Also if you wisit the Ephesus region you will able to see the Destroyed Temples by Chrisitans. What i mean even Christianity or Islam are not grown up only with peace!

Turks were Shaman before Islam, they were beleiving nature. They are also converted to Islam just the same with Albanians, Bosnians, just the same Italians, Greeks, Lithunians 1000 years before or 1000 years later this can't change the reality and this is not bussiness of anybody! Right?

Let's come to music and Culture; You said this Albanian Music is very Turkish,
It could be because there is an Ottoman reality and there were Ottoman culture there during 700 years. It wasn't Turkish or Greek or Albanian or Bosnian It was Ottoman. Turkish folk music we have in Turkey now much more different than the music of Central Asian Turks because it also includes other nation's culture it is a mixture.

For example Greek's national folk music ''Rembetiko'' is a pure Ottoman Music, has figures from Syria, From Istanbul from Anatolia from Athens, from all Ottoman countries. Also we have songs we play at the weddings here in Turkey full of Balkanic melodies it is because of Ottoman mixture culture.

Listen the national Greek Rembetiko... This was an folk music in Ottoman pool, now Greek National folk.
