I see your point ,and get this overseas friends Australia is all of a 110 years old this year and the last 4 verses of the national Anthem is banned from being sung.It is so groveling to the " "Motherland "not the Australian 'motherland ,the 'English 'Motherland".

About time for a Revolution like the one in the American colonies ,what you reckon ?

What a pathetic thing Australian grovelling is to their Imperial Masters .

In fairness, electronic voting systems, which are not designed, coded and tested to ensure voting is not manipulatable are easy to change and once changed, much more difficult to detect than the paper and rubber situation.

Aussies are funny people. Most of them deride national arrogance until it comes to Australia, then they become flag waving morons at the drop of a hat. They actually think that they are envied the world over. LOL! Poor delusional saps.

Excuse me Tom ,when i wave my flag .Australia is a 3rd rate insignificant putridly insular scared little nation sitting at the bottom of Asia .what happens here is like what happens in a mid-western town compared to New York, the government reflects the Hick nation of Ausstraallllia.

not many of them are more AuSStraAAliannn, then myself and I hate the place to the point of wanting to see it Gone.

"Australian culture" what a joke a oxymoron essentially ,except for the Aboriginal 45000 year one.

Tom Please do not put us all under the Austraalliian Flag ,which is English in its origin ,at least they federated the "convict colony of England" and created the 'Nation that will lead Global recovery"treasurer Wayne Swan 2011,wow what an achiement for humanity the australian nation will be 112 years old this year.lets hope it dosen't see 113.

And old matey you are right ,no one will miss capitialist Ausstraalia ,we don't call it the Land that everyone else forgot for nothing ,welcome to the Land of OZ oi oi oi .

That reminds me with the Olympics coming up if you hear Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi ,think of me vomiting in disgust .

How they hanging by the way and don't call me a stinking Ausstraaliaan.:)

    Australia is insular?

In any given year about a third of Australians travel overseas. At any given time over 1 million Australians are overseas.

NZ is in the Australian constitution because NZ was originally going to be part of Australia and the constitution was ratified before NZ decided to pull out of Federation. It would take a referendum to remove NZ from the Australian constitution, and let's face it, that'd be a waste of money.

You are right elections in the UK and OZ are not an issue at all ,the capitialist Class rules whatever the result.Tory ,liberal or Labour its always the same result for the Working Class,Austerity ,followed by more Austerity followed by WAR.

Time to stop voting with pencils and start voting with our feet ,through occupation of factory's and workers councils .

Australia didn't claim NZ ,the penal colony,NSW by force of arms in the Moari Wars did.

Detachments of NSW milita established NZ against the Moari people. For England of course .NSW owns NZ just don't tell them .The 'Great Democratic.NOT"Constitution of AUSTRALIA ,the LUCKIEST COUNTRY ON THE PLANET,is beyond human criticism ,the floundering fathers , said.:)

Should never given Sheila's the vote either ,crickey things have gone to hell in a teacup since then. And them Black fella's should never got the vote in 1968.Should go back to the Aparthied White Australia policy ,bloody Whitlam stopping Apartheid in 1972.

Oh what a leading democracy good old "AuSStraalia" as Gillard puts it,no sorry to bring the Word Democracy and Australia together is a crime against Human decency ,sorry will separate the words as we should.

If what is presented as democracy ,in the land of pencil elections is "true Democracy" then I ain't no Democrat .God save the Queen ,and her near Fascist regime as they send little Kiddies to the Concentration camps in Malaysia.

Well may you say god save the Queen ,but nothing will save the Govenor General.

Canada. But all candidates have the right to have a representative present during the ballot count.

    Oh look, bigotry.

Aboriginals did not get the vote in 1968. They had it much earlier than that. Aboriginals have been voting since the first elections.

Oh the original version of 'Advance Australia Fair"one may be forgiven for seeing it as a song to good old England you decide.
    http://lachlan.bluehaze.com.au/aaf/index.html

The government allows only this version .
    http://www.itsanhonour.gov.au/symbols/docs/anthem_words.pdf
Women of course are left out ,and if it isn't the most slavishly pro British Imperialism then I am very mistaken and don't read english .

The most Non-National Anthem in the World ,we need a new one its even embarrassing for me ,as it says I am this Idiot called an Australian on my passport and birth certificate ,I want it changed if everyone else in democratic nations find out you will be the laughing stock ,can the Athletes in london please sing the original version it will bring the house down ,I perfer standing for any other Anthem.

    lucky I have the "Internationale"

Australia is a joke waiting to be Done in.

Fair crack of the whip ,and suck of the sauce bottle ,at least "God save the Queen" had more then 2 verses

We view Australians as the Americans of the South Pacific.

They have most of the same characteristics.
