Why do they let birthers keep going with Obama's Birth Certificate?

Still some people that think our president Obama maybe wasn't born her or lied about college scholarship help.

I call BS on that. What other president has his personal records locked up? Remember the shock when the college grades of Bush turned out to be better than Kerrys??? In fact I dont know of any president that virtually all their personal records havent been published.

 

Did each other President release their birth certificate? If not, why didn't they? He should not have to do what was not expected of the others. What I don't understand is why Birther's won't let this nonsense goooo, considering how ridiculous it makes Birther's appear.

No other president has had any reason to have been suspected of ineligibility due to birthplace. As nutty as I think the birthers are, they have raised a concern, no matter how unfounded, that COULD be simply dismissed by a release of documentation to prove them wrong. But that documentation has not been released.

The reason the birthers won't let it go, I believe, is because the documentation they want is being withheld. And they believe the withholding of that documentation to be evidence to bolster their hypothesis about BHO being a Kenyan. The ACTUAL reason it is being withheld, IMO, is so the birthers will continue to wail about it, making them look ridiculous. From a political perspective, when your opposition looks ridiculous, YOU WIN.

 

I completely agree that Birthers make a strategic blunder by pressing the issue. I don't see why this President should get the special treatment of suspicion about his birthplace.

Because he's the only president in history where his birthplace COULD be called into question. Do you think if GWB's father was a foreign national, that the left would have demanded to know if GWB was qualified for the presidency? I do. They'd be idiots not to raise that question. Do you think the right would have had the strategic savvy to refuse to release the documents, as BHO has? Probably not. GWB would have slapped his birth certificate on the table so fast it would have made the always-full broccoli bowl flip...twice, regardless of what his strategists advised him to do.

It's really easy (and useful, and common) for the left to cry "Racism!", but in this case, I think it was just part of the vetting process that this question was originally raised, and subsequently, an opportunity was raised for them (the left) to profit politically by dragging it out rather than just resolving it. It is quite effective to dip a wide brush into the metaphorical paint bucket a vocal but loony fringe represents, and try to paint the entire opposition as lunatics. It is especially useful if the opposition is actually painting itself, which is what we 'non-birthers' do by not renouncing their lunacy.

The question, politically, the birthers need to ask themselves, is this: Is it useful at this point to continue to pursue answers to this question? Suppose BHO actually WAS later found to be ineligible to have held the office he was elected to. What repercussions would that cause? What, exactly, at this late stage in his Presidency, would finding out he's NOT eligible to hold this office, cause to happen? Would laws he signed become null and void? Would he be jailed? Would those things be politically valuable? Would those things be good for our country's future?

I think not. It's not worth pursuing at this point.

Other presidents have been open about most of their public records. GW Bush's college transcripts are easily found, as are many Presidential candidates (John Kerry's comes to mind).

 

the question is why do you make a lie up to demonize him. He was certified to run and that's all that's necessary just like every other candidate. Him not releasing them just to appease birthers? not releasing them allows the rest of us to look at birthers and feel way way superior.

Uh, Obama released his birth certificate shortly after the stupidity began in June of 2008. He remains the only president or candidate in US history who has ever done so.

If that's the case, then we can file the birthers away with those folks who thought a comet was coming to take them to heaven, if their sneakers were clean enough. So then, the question becomes, why do the left assign ANY importance to these yahoos at all?
