I didn't say anything about how they are doing. Just demonstrating that California is not seeing population decline like we see in Northern states.

The conservative plan of borrowing ourselves into prosperity hasn't worked out so well for us.

The sad thing is they're going to turn Texas into California because they're going to keep voting for the same stupid policies once they get here. They don't seem to be able to make the connection between their voting habits and the crappiness of their financial situation.

    Stupids. All of them.

Illegals are the new crop of democrats . You don't have to worry about those that leave because of the wackos that think ALL poor are helpless and incapable of working . They have tasted that foul tasting Kool Aid of " change "

The borrowing happens AFTER the democrats uncontrolled spending !

NY Governor Cuomo has said it in the past that extreme conservatives are not welcome in NY. I agree with him; let them migrate to the south where they'll find the climate more agreeable anyhow. I live in a town upstate where they run everything and they are just as corrupt as they claim the democrats are. I would especially encourage them to move to Texas who will accommodate them in settling in. Lets keep NY Blue!

These "retirees" should be forced to stay put in the socialist "paradise" that they created. They sowed the seeds, let them reap the harvest.

When these people move from the "progressive" states they ruined, they don't leave their failed political ideology behind. They bring their politics with them to their new state and proceed to ruin it. "progressives" are so stupid/brainwashed/uneducated that they cannot connect the dots to see why they have to leave NY, NJ, CA, etc. in the first place.

So "progressives", stay home! We do not want you! You are not welcome here!

That's a nice rationalization. But it doesn't really explain why more people are moving to Texas than California. Since southern California actually has better weather. Texas is notoriously humid.

Half of NJ retirees are heading south... just like they did in the 90s, the 80s, the 70s. Why is this news?

    Proof, please.

Property taxes in Texas are huge and they go up. California, it's a flat rate that barely moves. Tolls in Texas, none in California. If someone wants to leave California for Texas, be my guest. I hope they take about 10 million more with them.

Ruined? My lord, you are hilarious. The blue states are just fine. The funny think about conservatives is that they are constantly comparing themselves to liberals. It is like you have no identity except as a reflection of all that you hate about liberals. I got news for you pal, liberals could care less about conservatives, we think your states are backwater (*)(*)(*)(*)holes and we only give you the time of day because we are forced to by your constant hollering, wailing, mouth breathing, hand wringing bull(*)(*)(*)(*). How about you guys try defining yourselves as people first, then citizens of America and leave the political and religious crap at the door.

I lived in Colorado. It was a wonderful place to raise my kids. Then, the refugees from California started flooding in. They brought gated communities and homeowners associations. They brought laws to drive working class people, which would be most Hispanics, out of town. They worked at turning Colorado into what they'd left.

Refugees from the liberals states are like a virus. They ruined their state and they want to ruin their new home.

Keep them out. Protect your borders. Me? I'd rather have Mexicans coming up. At least they'll work.

If you like Texas and its low standard of living, it's the ideal place. Many Arizona retirees are moving to Mexico or other places like Costa Rica. They Mexicans love retirees even more than Texans, Arizonans, etc. and I'd move to Mexico before packing up for any red state. That way I can avoid southern bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

Good reasons, both. Thousands of people fled California for Nevada (mostly Las Vegas and Reno) because of Nevada's low taxes and marvelous career opportunities. Nevada (never a place people would really want to live in the best of circumstances) is now a basket case and has been since 2007. First state into the recession and last state out. You get what you don't pay for these days.

I think you'd find your state governments down south would not agree with you. They support building these retirement communities and target people from the northern states to buy homes in them because they have money which equals income for the state coffers. Don't be so ignorant to think that there is no ulterior motive by the state governments in the south; they want the money and the northerners have what they want.

If it weren't for the retiree's places like Florida would be nothing more then swampland or in South Carolina they'd still be living in tar paper shacks. Come to think of it, they do have people living in tar paper shacks in Mississippi and Alabama.

Some states have different advantages. For example, if you are going to retire and spend money, then go to one of the 5 states without a sales tax. Some states have very high property taxes, such as New Hampshire, even though their other taxes are low. NJ has both a high sales tax and really high property taxes. Some states don't have income taxes, but high sales taxes and use taxes. In looking around at various rankings it becomes obvious that some states are just expensive to retire in for anyone. Other states are good for people who will have Pensions and Social Security as their primary income since those aren't taxed, but you need to be careful since such states tend to have high sales taxes or property taxes or both. bottom line, your mileage will vary according to how you plan to finance your retirement.

That's ok; we're keeping NY blue and once enough of our baby boomers are down in various southern states, they'll become blue as well. Remember, it's all about money. Remember I said there is an ulterior motive behind this.

30 years ago the high taxes, defective government, and liberal emphasis were not such a problem. They are now.

Don't think you can lay that plan solely at the foot of conservatives.
