Why should people be forced to get the vaccine in order to protect others who choose not to get it?

My body my choice only applies to if you want to kill a baby. And only if you're female.

But if you don't want to take an experimental drug that the manufacturer the doctors and anybody having to do with it cannot be sued for if it turns out to have side effects down the road you shouldn't have a choice.

If sick patients aren't flooding into the hospitals etc., then yeah, that's one less reason for any sort of requirement or mandate in that region. If a place is getting a lot of sick folk though, then it makes sense in that case that mandates or requirements might be considered to stop or at least stem the flow.

So I'm guessing that you didn't mean that slaves were NOT forced to be slaves.

In the US, in a back-to-normal world, won't people require insurance to be treated for COVID?

Yes, but if they did, it seems like you would support them all being fired, because of what you said: "Business do not have to put their customers at risk."

I'm asking, IF we had flu mandates since the time that the flu vaccine was introduced, how many lives could have been saved?

the flue vaccine was never as good as the covid vaccine is, that is why need yearly shots for the new variants

if we could target the flu, like we do covid, that would be great

the problem is, profits, will pharmaceuticals make such a vaccine

I think the covid vaccine may be the last one to target variants, pharmaceuticals may make sure they can sell new vaccine going forward on the next virus

corporations are required to do whats best for their shareholders, not consumers... that is why our phone no longer allow us to easily change batteries.... it's called planned obsolescence

phone companies know the battery will not last as long as the phone

I go back to this post:
    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...e-not-to-get-it.590494/page-2#post-1072817046

It seemed that you were saying that people have the CHOICE to quit their job and quit college regardless of the mandates that they face, without that reasonably being considered to be 'force.'

this is true, people do have a choice, they can quit their jobs anytime, and business can choose not to hire them if they endanger their customers

Yes, so then they can simply be turned away from a hospital if they get sick. The case is quite a bit different in Australia where we have nationalised health care.

no one in American can be denied emergency care

but agree, I would prefer a public option here as well

Well why would COVID be treated any differently to smoking related diseases?

either, sometimes a vaccinated person has a compromised immune system

even a well-trained army that is sick, may not be up to the fight

I think the thread misses a dynamic point. That being ... First and Foremost
what right has a State or the federal government to mandate a vaccine be taken.
Especially when a this Covid shot in the arm is Not a Vaccine { yet } but an
experimental drug. There is No Vaccine { yet } for the Aids virus.
Or the common flu.A yearly Flu shot is not a vaccine.
Covid-19 is a Variant of SARS and MERS.
Americans { Citizens } have rights. The right to Privacy as far as our
medical records and also consulting a Priest or an Attorney.
Under priviledge of confidentiality.A person commits a murder and
goes into the Confessional and confess' to a Priest ... It's Confidential.
No court nor amount of Law can supercede that Priviledge.
A Citizen in the United States has the right to Die as he chooses or
sees fit.Short of hiring out for a Mercy Killing { Euthanasia }.
I see a real problem of relying on a 1905 Supreme Court case where
a State was allowed to mandate a shot for a smallpox outbreak.
Covid-19 is Not Smallpox. There is a naturally occuring Immunity that
results from having Covid and getting over it.That natural Immunity is
stronger and more protective than an experimental drug masquerating
    as if a Vaccine.
PLus there is No cure or vaccine for Smallpox. So in {citing } relying on
a 1905 Decision regarding a Smallpox outbreak is rather juvenile.

Nevertheless, if we had flu vaccine mandates since the time that the flu vaccine was introduced, how many lives could have been saved?
Why do you think that the COVID vaccine may be the last one to target variants?

Actually, sealing phones to the point that the battery cannot be removed, does actually thoroughly waterproof the phone. However, it's debatable whether or not the risk to water damage outweighs the chance of a phone outliving the battery and having the chance of battery replacement. I've certainly never dropped any of my phones in a body of water, and I've had a phone for 18 years. Whereas I've had MANY batteries die before the phone!

Well they are different. One is highly contagious and kills at a much faster pace.
And only one has the ability to evolve/mutate into something even worse.
Other than that though, I don't know. Perhaps there's an argument to
be made that they should be treated more similarly in some respect...

Is everyone who goes to hospital for COVID considered an emergency?

This is steadily appearing like Big Brother and - 1984 -.
    With totalitarianism at it's zenith.
Making monthly new dictates in the form of Edicts or Executive
orders { actions }. There was no Orders or Edicts when as a country we
had to deal with a horrific mounting emergency { Ebola }.
However the good news is that We the People now know the
lenghts to witch one party { Democrats } are willing to go in order
to acheive more and more power.
They are willing to let infiltrate into our Country those who are Illegal.
Plus not Vaccinated. And make it easy for them to travel and expose
whatever health problems they may possess.Like TB.Like the Measles.
While persecuting fellow citizens who this Country belongs to.
This Country belongs to We the People. That is why the Capitol
Bldg. is called ... The People's House.
