Every male engineer or scientist I know is one the right.

The only leftist engineers or scientists I know are female.

Uh, why would you kill it if it wasn't alive?

Let's not divert this off topic. We can continue in the Abortion Forum where maybe you could answer the question. You said something with no proof.

Please do show me who and where anyone said a fetus isn't alive?

What they think they gain is more cash in their pockets. They are convinced that AGW is a global (probably Communist), plot to relieve them of their money. And to conservatives money is as important as a 'god'.

The word 'science' refers to 'knowledge'. From the Latin, 'scientia', 'scire', know. The scientific method is something else entirely.

Good judgment is control- applied to what IS IN your control, and acceptance of things which are not by nature. And while science is intended to be based on fact, it is always an education in progress. A few hundred years ago the fact was that the world was flat. A few hundred years before that, the earth was the center of the universe and the sun revolved around us. Those scientific facts persisted for thousands of years, despite some remarkable men showing evidence to the contrary,

Foolishness is taking all science or things labeled as scientific belief as infallible. It's believing that control is a bad thing, which means instead of navigating with caution, (judgment and control) you let the wind blow you where it will- usually to disaster or failure, but rarely to success.
Science is always in the state of the art, meaning this is the best we know at this moment in time. Control should be the best we can do to guide our ship to it's destination safely, using what we know and think we know- with a good bit of skepticism, because we should always remember that part of what we know is flawed- and we still don't know what we don't know... and the volume of that unknown vastly exceeds what we do know.

I see the left as guiding itself without really guiding at all- just the idea that it will all work out if people will just surrender their desire to be in control of their lives. It's a lot like the hippies of the 60's, but with a higher pretense of sophistication and righteousness. It is particularly concerning that it promotes weak personal responsibility and encourages dependence- as if you could build a brick wall with mud blocks, or a strong nation with weak people who who believe someone else is responsible and should make the world right for them.

The right has it's problems, no question- but the left in my opinion is worse off; fatally flawed. It is more inclined to accept science- but with a degree of blindness to the fact we are usually only partly right. We are the navigators of our own ships; it is our individual responsibility to steer it safely to a safe and better place.

Yes science should be driven by facts and evidence, logic, analysis and math but not politics. In the case of climate change, formerly global warming, soon to be some other scary sounding BS, all of those things have been disregarded. Instead they have been perverted and manipulated to fit a profoundly corrupt political narrative. For the left it has become a reiligion Al Gore being the pope elevated to some lofty messianic stature. All of the "scientists" who toe the line are regarded as saints and so on. Why is it that the no matter how ridiculous a premise, however flimsy the proof the left glom onto it like teens to pop culture? Once you question the motives of the purveyors of this rubbish it all falls apart.

According to some powerful in the activist community getting rid of capitalism is the higher purpose and AGW is the vehicle. Their own public statements support this.

Newsflash. What good is science if there is no political will to react to the science?

The scientific debate over AWG ended 13 years ago.

What's been happening since then is political foot dragging by corporations and their paid stooges to block any action that would use that science to deal with the problem.

No one with a brain is saying we should "get rid of capitalism". Can you provide names and links to that nonsense?

The Birther-in-Chief is adored by his fellow conspiracy sycophants. He speaks their language and he promotes their delusions because he shares them all.

Not all theists are antiscience or even science deniers. That sub cult of Christianity are literalists whose beliefs are threatened by the scientific facts. They occupy a very vocal niche that has become politically motivated beginning with what was known as the "moral majority" back in the St Reagan era. It has grown since then and achieved influence in state legislatures nationwide and now has a significant obstructive presence in Congress.

Their influence is such that they have literally frightened off rational GOP representatives and replaced them with those who dare not openly embrace science.

The unfortunate aspect to all this is that it is harming this nation in a great many ways that will have both short and long term negative effects.

And, to add to that, science conflicts with their propaganda.

Sure theories can be replicated and duplicated by anyone, and they are. It's called "peer review".

The left rejects science far more than the right.
    1) There are only 2 genders, male and female...There are people that have aspects of both, however this is a disorder and most of these people choose to live as one or the other gender.
    2) Nuclear power is safe and clean, France is touted as one of the greenest countries on the planet because they use nuclear power.
    3) GMO's are not disastrous as the left would have you believe. Golden rice has been promoted by more than 100 nobel laureates to boost health in developing countries.
    4) Fracking does not contaminate water sources.
This list could go on and on...but you get the point.

I'm a leftist, and I don't know the first thing about science, because I think man made change is settled science, and I have the nerve to call skeptics(even though skepticism is the heart of the scientific method) science deniers. I'm a leftist, and I'm pretty much equivalent to the establishment that persecuted Galileo, because Geocentric theory was "settled" science as well.

Yuri Alexandrovich Bezmenov (Russian: Юрий Александрович Безменов, also known as Tomas David Schuman; 1939 – 1993[1]) was a journalist for RIA Novosti and a former PGU KGB informant from the Soviet Union who defected to Canada.

    I'll pass thanks
