The person who spoke DIRECTLY before him SPECIFICALLY brought up MS-13. Yes Trump didn't clarify, but are you actually saying that he DEFINITELY WAS referring to ALL illegal aliens?

He is selling the wall on emotion - emotion directed AGAINST those from south of our border.

He's not selling the wall on any claim of effectiveness. He isn't even hitting the methods by which most come.

The 2013 bill addresses the southern border (with $44B), the way most come (legally, by visa) AND the reason they come (jobs). And, it does this while leaving intact our international commitment to asylum.

 

"Trump is attacking [asylum]" are YOUR words! This is YOUR interpretation of something that he has said or
some sort of policy. I can't find any specific asylum policy that would explain how Trump is "Attacking" asylum.

You seem to be referring to Trump's campaign speech in 2016 when he said, "They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” This is not the same as his MS-13 comments, it is MUCH more general. When else has he referred to them in such general terms?

 

He is demanding that asylum seekers stay out of America, when the international policy is that one may apply after entry by any means.

He is building a wall.

He's changing policy for those who want to apply. For example, he started taking their children away without providing ANY WAY for them to EVER be reunited with their parents again. Thus, we have parents who, many months after court direction, still don't have their children. In fact, he deported the parents without their children.

He's allowed asylum courts to get massively backed up during this period of unrest in Central and South America that has caused more to seek asylum. There are now more than 800,000 asylum seekers in the queue for asylum court hearings.

He has pushed for legislation for far lower numbers of asylum seekers to be granted asylum, in fact identifying sources of asylum seekers as "**** hole" nations.

I have asked Trump's fans a question on several threads, but they refuse to answer. They don't want to contemplate the future results of what they are saying today.

The immediate fear is, if the President gets his way on this issue, he and Presidents that follow will use the same maneuver, shut down the government until they get what they want.

Keep in mind, the Republican Congress was willing to pass a CR in December. Then Trump changed his mind and we got the long government shutdown. The Democratic bill this week received more votes in the Republican Senate then Trump's bill. Six Republican Senators defected to the Democrats. The President is alone on this one.

So, let me ask Trump's pals a question. Do you want future Democratic Presidents to have the authority created by Trump's precedence to shut down the government when they don't get what they want from a Republican legislature?

Does any Trump fan care to answer that question?

Well that comment was in regards to ECONOMIC migration, so it is irrelevant to this discussion. However, "**** hole" nations was a rather crude way of referring to them as ECONOMICALLY sh*t! And he is 100% correct! He compared them to a country which is economically prosperous, which is Norway. What country has a better source of economic migration? Norway, Haiti, El Salvador or Honduras? Be honest now.

By building a wall you are condemning them and it will get a lot worse in Mexico because of the total abandonment . Indirectly giving the cartels etc, permission to do whatever they like .
