Sure, but the universalists I'm talking about believe that everyone will eventually trust in Christ. They don't believe in an arbitrary deadline for completing that homework.
If you are a Gentile how do you think you will get into the gaudy bejeweled golden cube called "New Jerusalem" when there's no gate for you to enter through? Do you think one of twelve tribes of Israel will let you use their gate?
As long as you are not there hell sounds pretty good......wait a sec.....I guess people like you kinda make heaven into hell anyway.
As a Child of G-d through Christ there is no Jew nor Gentile. Since I have been redeemed through His shed blood, my place in Heaven is guaranteed. Not from anything I've done, but from everything G-d has done for me. All I needed to do was receive His gift.
So you want to spend eternity in a giant golden cube with a bunch of weird creatures on a waterless planet that doesn't have any darkness? Good luck.
You need to learn to use the 'reply with quote' function so who you are responding to, knows it and others can track back to the original post.
Hardly a defensive statement. If you can't make it in the real tough competive real world you can always find a safe nondemanding sinecure in the military where competition is no longer required and failure is impossible.
Paul wrote to the Ephesians "It is by grace we are saved through faith and this not of ourselves. It is the gift of G-d, not of works, that anyone should boast" Eph. 2vv8-9. Salvation being a gift and the only thing we have to do is receive it. Acknowledging that we cannot do anything ourselves to save our own souls from eternal punishment because of sin. G-d made the only way possible to reconcile man with Himself. All we have to do is ask.
What Paul wrote is irrelevant to the FACT that if I or someone or some god gives you anything that attaches a requirement of any kind it is not a gift it is a bribe or you are being coerced!
Paul, he is the persecutor of christians, then decided to fake a vision and pretend to like christians, but give them false words to follow so they end up in hell.
Oh, so you have some first hand proof of your statement, or is this just your uneducated and foolish opinion of him. Please present your evidence.
1. I insult people who are insulting. The original idea was that if people were going to be offended by being insulted, they would take the hint and stop being insulting themselves. It doesn't work. You can't shame people anymore because they have no shame. What they do have is an infinite capacity to blame their failings on the other guy. They lie and complain about being called liars. They steal and complain about being called thieves. They break the law and complain about being called criminals. Jesus didn't mince words with people like that, he told them the way it was. Let's get real here. You (the collective "you") don't hate me (or what I stand for) for anything I have done, you hate me for who I am, because you can'take control me. You can'take tell me what to think, you can't tell me how to vote, and you really can't tell me what to say. But you want to. Look at your signature line, that says it all. So you don't think "preachers" should be a part of the political process, eh? Well too bad. We vote too and we will continue to vote. 2. Yes, it IS false. Like everything else people post here, it is not the Gospel. The Gospel is simple enough for a child to comprehend but it has a tendency to confuse people who think they know everything already. What is there to discuss? You turn on a football game and there will always be some guy with a banner that says "John 3:16". Look it up sometime. No, I did NOT say I acted as Clergy in a Baptist Church, if you are going to misquote me, at least get it right. I am a priest in one of the many denominations that still have priests. I also grew up in the Baptist Church. This ain't my first rodeo. I also spent seven years in formation to become a priest. The one thing they didn't prepare me for was how disrespectful people were going to be. Yes, I know, men are sinful by nature, but I really couldn't make myself believe that people would put forth false doctrine then call ME the impostor when I tried to explain. Well, they did the same thing to Christ, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. This will be my last post, what little patience I had has been exhaused.
Really? And speaking of protesting. One could make the argument you protest way too much about atheists or Christians who have come to their senses about their belief in a fable.
***Now does this just apply to this thread, or do you mean for good here at PoliticalForum.com***? I know which one I vote for.
