As for the 14 year old thing, I was around 16 when this supposedly happened, so I know a bit of what it was like. I knew several young teenage girls who were either in relationships with older men, or were just passed around for one-night stands. They were usually runaways who hit the city looking for an escape from their parents and school. They had one commodity to get off the streets, and the lucky ones managed to find somebody who wasn't a pimp (although several ran away for that express purpose)

Then the 80s hit, and young teenage girls loved the groupie scene with metal bands. At bars with a live band, they were always able to get past the guy checking IDs at the door. Once inside, they hung around waiting for guys to buy them drinks and show them a good time.

Now you want me to be this victorian prude aghast that these young girls are being abused? Sheeeeeit! As I said, I knew several of them and they weren't being abused. They should have stayed on the farm and listened to their old man, but they chose that life, and there were always older men willing to indulge them.

All I know is that I grew up in an environment where young girls were sexually active and age of consent laws weren't taken seriously by cops unless there was actual physical violence. Now these boomers want to pretend that they didn't see any young girls at woodstock, or discos were filled with nothing but "age appropriate" men and women who always insisted on safe sex, along with a signed and notarized contract for any contact of a sexual nature.
