yep, a settlement and then charges are mysteriously never brought by the courts, these are witnesses, paying off a witness to a crime against ones self should be a crime - in fact, should be witness tampering

Wait, so TWO separate 'payment' elements here? One: settlement via court, and two: 'under the table' payment to witnesses?

But not reducing sentences? That seems to be the other part of it that I hear about in various media. Hell, even Trump did some of that with the 'First Step Act.'

It's not a term that we even use in Australia. In the US, it seems that, to the people who are the loudest about it -- the seriously radical far left -- "criminal justice reform" means: let all of the people out of jail. For me it seems that it should be far closer to the idea that, alot more people need to be put in jail and the people who are in there should be there for longer.

woke is like saying you believe in Jesus (supporting religious freedom).... being too woke is thinking people that believe in Jesus need rewarded and those that do not need punished by your actions, or that you need to force the belief of Jesus on others with one's position of power, same with any other belief

No, the prosecutor called a male rapist he but after the rapist declared he now feels like a woman even though he still has his penis and testicles. Sadly, in our sick state of California male rapists are allowed to be moved into female prisons simply if they say they feel like a woman. We are talking about an adult male who raped a tiny child who he corned in a woman's restroom at a Denny's.
