Consider this, if you were a criminal with the intent to harm for whatever your purpose/gain, would you choose a soft unarmed target or one that can put up a fight? So if a crook has a gun and every citizen had one, do you think there'd be more or less crime?

A scenario (hypothetical), that I came across a while ago where a criminal went into a bank that was using a firearm to rob the bank and the patrons within. He demanded everyone get on the ground and give him the wallets/purses jewelry and the cash from the tellers. This was scenario #1 where no one but the robber had a firearm.
Scenario #2 –– Same situation except when the robber made his demands, everyone pulled out their guns and told the robber that he gets on the ground.

 

So why the dumb responses?

 

Scenario 3. Multiple robbers come in shooting, and get the jump on the occupants of the bank, killing everyone they see because they are all armed and a threat to the robbers.

So how do you define "disarming a nation?" The examples you are all those nations were dictatorships, and had no democratic process. However, you lack context with your examples. Here is some additional info for you:

1. Turkey, as you claim, was officially known as the Ottoman Empire, and was at war with Coalition forces, British Empire, France, and Russia, and chose the Axis. A famous battle, called Gilliopili is well known. The Armenians were in revolt against the Empire and thus took the necessary steps to bring them back in control. They were viewed as criminals, revolutionaries, etc. And monarchies, especially the Ottoman Empire were absolute.
2. Russia from 1929 to 1992 was a dictatorship under communist rule. The 20 million mostly died due to starvation, Stalin destroying all dissent from within, and so forth.
3. China was controlled by the KMT, China, and Japan in 1935. There was no disarmament at that time by the CMT and Mao's Communist Party since they were at war with Japan and Japan is the one who pretty much disarmed Chinese citizens in occupied territories and murdered some 20 million Chinese Citizens. When Japan lost WW2, the KMT and the Mao's Communist Party went to war and Mao's party eventually won. Both sides committed atrocities, and both were two peas in the same pod. Chaing Kai Chek wanted to be the Next Emperor of China eventually, but had to settle with Formosa, aka Taiwan when he lost the civil war from 1946 to 1949.
4. The Khmer Rouge took over Cambodia and started a great massacre of its citizens. Prior to that, they really did not have high access to firearms at all since it was mostly a rural society ruled by an absolute dictatorship called the Khumer Republic and a civil war ensued. The result of that civil war was the Khmer Rouge where the Killing Fields and one person named Dith Pran became an activist and lived in NYC until his death.
5. Guatemala was virtually in a civil war from 1996. The current government at that time was a right-wing paramilitary government sponsored by Honduras since the 1950s. thus the government did not disarm anyone. there was a peasant army and the government eventually had a massacre called the Panzo's Massacre and others among German landowners who supported the Right Wing Paramilitary government, the people's army, and other groups.
6. Uganda in 1971 was ruled by Idi Amin, a ruthless dictator who vowed war against the West, supported by communist Russia, and Israel. Again, they were originally a French Colonial colony, declared independence in 1961, had a civil war, and Idi Amin was eventually installed as ruler, absolute ruler.

Thus none of your examples go to the question at hand and none of the options go to the question at hand.
