That's another false dichotomy by the way. People can and do break some laws while following others.

And criminals use the tools they feel they require weighed against the risk of being caught with them. Less armed populace means less criminals choosing to have and use guns. If somebody is going to rob you, and doesn't think you will be armed with a gun, he will probably come with a knife. If he thinks you will be armed with a gun, he will come with a gun, and may shoot before you see him coming, for his own safety.

Somebody above wrote that stabbings in the UK are up (they are still lower than in the USA per capita). The real question is are shootings up in the UK as well? The answer is no. They are down. And far far lower than in the USA per capita.

You do know you're contradicting yourself with this claim. IOW you're stating that the dichotomy is false, so its meaning is negated.
I saw a burglar kicking in his own front door, he must have been working from home.
How do you figure that? They'll need less ammo, as the firearm is already intimidating.

Oh, now we have to subtract mass shooting casualties from the overall numbers?... LMAO

Is gun violence up or down in Australia since the 1996 gun reforms?

Would what be the same case? Guns are highly restricted in Canada. Again, I will stay in Windsor, Ontario and out of Detroit Michigan, thanks.

    This is what's being debated.

    1911 – Turkey disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1915 – 1917 they murdered 1.5 million Armenians.
    1929 – Russia disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1929 – 1953 they murdered 20 million Russians.
    1935 – China disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1948 – 1952 they murdered 20 million Chinese.
    1938 – Germany disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1939 – 1945 they murdered 16 million Jews.
    1956 – Cambodia disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1975 – 1977 they murdered 1 million Educated people.
    1964 – Guatamala disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1964 – 1981 they murdered 100,000 Mayan Indians.
    1970 – Uganda disarmed it’s citizens, and between 1971 – 1979 they murdered 300,000 Christians.

And yet Australia, UK, and others have gun bans and are not murdering their citizens.

A murderer doesn't care if he gets caught with a gun.

Stabbing murders are the highest on record. The overall murder rate is going down. That's not something to brag about.

The United States' overall murder numbers are going down. That IS something to brag about.

    ?

Its something for the US to brag about, but not the UK to brag about?

Murders in the UK switching from other means to knives (as overall murder rate declines) is irrelevant to gun control laws, unless of course you are arguing that gun control laws lead murderers to use less guns and more knives, and the murder rate declines accordingly? I wouldn't make that argument.

You just wrote the opposite. So that was a typo?
How has the UK murder rate done in correlation with gun control measures there? Above we saw that in Australia gun violence dropped dramatically as gun control was tightened.

This poll only makes sense if it's just the government pushing full disarmament. But since here in the United States, it's driven by voters, not politicians, the idea that it's done for government control kind of loses substance. I mean, sure, that narrative is great for riling up voters and selling guns and ammo but it's not realistic or grounded. But these days Americans are as addicted to their narratives as they are to their cell phones.

I don't need to lie to you or myself. Your democratic party is doing just fine misleading the people gullible enough to accept their BS.
