Well of course. But not everyone wants to be armed. I will never condemn anyone who chooses not to own a gun. I own guns and that works for me but to each his/her own.

I may ask that question of myself if I feel so inclined, but the answer is not relevant as to whether or not the post in question is properly titled an argument from anecdote. By any measure, it most certainly was not.

Hopefully being reminded that an actual argument is necesary for there to be an argument from anecdote will help to clarify things for you.

The difference being most people protected by armed guards.............guards who are trained on using and storing a weapon............people who may have a heightened need for security..........do not expose themselves to the types of gun violence that makes possessing a gun more dangerous than not possessing one. So your analogy is false.
