You mean like take them in, and take care of them? No, they can go back as they came. Would I feed some passing through and were hungry? Sure. I would help anyone who was hungry asking for help. But enabling them to break our laws? No.

But Trump will not try to deport the 10s of millions we have living here. He will hopefully go after the criminal, including Mexican gangs filled with illegals like the dickens, like Ike did, and get them out, with a wall to keep them out. Or better, make the laws harsher on americans who employ them illegally, and send some of the businessmen to prison. This would do more than a wall would ever do. Take away the carrots. Also, it should be impossible for any illegal or legal immigrant to get any kind of welfare. This needs to be changed and stopped. Then immigration law needs to be changed with the interests of americans in mind. Choose immigrants on the basis of them adding to America, not pulling her down. Do not accept the world's poor, accept the well educated, the ambitious, the highly skilled, so immigration pulls us up, not down. That is what rationality would do.

Once trump gets the criminals out, he said he would then take a hard look to see how to address the ones here, the ones with kids raised here. But regardless of what he does, he will never have a mass deportation, given the logistics that it would involve and the costs. Deporting that many people would be possible, but we would no longer look like an enlightened civilization, and the suffering would just be far too great for anyone to do it. I see some kind of final amnesty, and then a wall in place to keep us from having to do this again. This stops illegals depressing wages for labor in construction, meat processing plants, jobs that americans used to do, and will do, if they are compensated fairly.

Their exemplary behavior does not mitigate the fact that a crime was committed in the process of them coming into the country, either willingly, or through an act that may constitute as human trafficking.

None of which changes the fact that a crime was committed.

The only people in America currently terrorizing and killing Mexicans illegally in this country, are other Mexicans.

They should be deported for the betterment of both the US populace and illegal alien,
for he/she would end up being exploited and for the US populace side it should be made certain that the illegal alien is not a threat for public safety.

and deportation proceedings was already made.

Immigration-flow numbers are staggering in both directions. In 2014, it’s estimated that more than 200,000 Central Americans tried to emigrate to the United States without documentation. But the Obama government has been deporting them as fast as it can.

Since coming to office in 2009, Obama’s government has deported more than 2.5 million people—up 23% from the George W. Bush years. More shockingly, Obama is now on pace to deport more people than the sum of all 19 presidents who governed the United States from 1892-2000, according to government data.

I don't know why this issue became quite new for some?

Wait, I feel a joke coming on!-
A man confesses to his priest in 2016- "Father I've done a bad thing, I sheltered an illegal Iraqi immigrant in my attic who was fleeing from the 1991 Gulf War and I kept all the cash his relatives were sending him"
Priest- "Oh well my son, at least you've confessed and got it out of your system"
Man- "Thank you father, but just one more thing, should I tell him the war's over?"

As someone who has had alot of dealing with illegals , I do get the sad piont that some kids who have been born here would have to leave, but I feel everyone should have to go back and if they are a productive person with no criminal record should be let back in. I was talking to a work permit holder the other day (tuesday) and asked him what he thought he said I did it right and have my papers and it is not hard to do everyone should do it the right way. We are supposed to be a nation of laws, if you can not in force your borders and immigration laws than are you really a nation? Ronstar, you can not name me one nation that does not in force it'sborder and immigration laws other than the United States. I really do not understand some people's stance on this. I do get most of them are good and hard working people but they are a net drain on our society when they are illegals. I think common ground can be found but this needs to be addressed, laws can not continue to be over looked just so some industries can have cheap labor. Cheap labor comes at a cost and that is stagnant hourly wages.

You already are. Your taxes and mine pay for HC, food and shelter to millions of illegals. The illegals need to go through the legal process like millions before them.

I agree with punishment for the people who hire illegals, but the problem is so ingrained into the government even that would be hard to do. Here in Iowa packing plants hire from the Iowa Work Force, it is basically a system set up buy the state to help industries hire workers. But the problem is anyone can sign up they have no checks in place to make sure that the people who sign up are here legal. I would guess that this is not unique to Iowa.

"Sheltering" a child suggests protecting them from some unlawful or immoral action. But minors do not have the right to live in any country they like just because their parents brought them there under cover of darkness.

Obviously their removal and repatriation to their own country should be done in a humane manner. I don't think Trump has visions of throwing them into cattle cars, as much as the Left likes to claim he is the reincarnation of Hitler.

I stepped out the door one morning to go for my morning run. Sitting on the curb were five wetbacks. I went back in and called the Border Patrol. I told them the situation, his reply, "What do you want me to do about it?"

I don't know why one wouldn't help someone in need.
Of course, one could look the other way and not help, but that in itself is somewhat barbaric.

I don't agree with illegal immigration in any form.

Refugees are a different matter, but even then, I don't believe it's the west's responsibility to take them ALL in. Most would be better off moving to 'safe' countries in their own neighbourhood. If western nations want to help, they can provide funds to these host nations to help support the influx of people.

In other words I'm for closed borders, but with an allowance for refugees from non-Muslim nations.

Any refuge given to refugees should be temporary. They should be returned to their home country when the situation is resolved.

    Federal Immigration and Nationality Act
    Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

"Any person who . . . encourages or induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."

Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):

A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:

    * assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or

    * encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or

    * knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.

Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime. Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his or her work authorization status is guilty of a misdemeanor. Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest, detention, and seizure of their vehicles or property. In addition, individuals or entities who engage in racketeering enterprises that commit (or conspire to commit) immigration-related felonies are subject to private civil suits for treble damages and injunctive relief...

    Encouraging and Harboring Illegal Aliens

It is a violation of law for any person to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection in any place, including any building or means of transportation, any alien who is in the United States in violation of law. HARBORING MEANS ANY CONDUCT THAT TENDS TO SUBSTANTIALLY FACILITATE AN ALIEN TO REMAIN IN THE U.S. ILLEGALLY. The sheltering need not be clandestine, and harboring covers aliens arrested outdoors, as well as in a building. This provision includes harboring an alien who entered the U.S. legally but has since lost his legal status.

An employer can be convicted of the felony of harboring illegal aliens who are his employees if he takes actions in reckless disregard of their illegal status, such as ordering them to obtain false documents, altering records, obstructing INS inspections, or taking other actions that facilitate the alien's illegal employment. Any person who within any 12-month period hires ten or more individuals with actual knowledge that they are illegal aliens or unauthorized workers is guilty of felony harboring. It is also a felony to encourage or induce an alien to come to or reside in the U.S. knowing or recklessly disregarding the fact that the alien's entry or residence is in violation of the law. This crime applies to any person, rather than just employers of illegal aliens. Courts have ruled that "encouraging" includes counseling illegal aliens to continue working in the U.S. or assisting them to complete applications with false statements or obvious errors. The fact that the alien is a refugee fleeing persecution is not a defense to this felony, since U.S. law and the UN Protocol on Refugees both require that a refugee must report to immigration authorities without delay upon entry to the U.S.

The penalty for felony harboring is a fine and imprisonment for up to five years. The penalty for felony alien smuggling is a fine and up to ten years' imprisonment. Where the crime causes serious bodily injury or places the life of any person in jeopardy, the penalty is a fine and up to twenty years' imprisonment. If the criminal smuggling or harboring results in the death of any person, the penalty can include life imprisonment. Convictions for aiding, abetting, or conspiracy to commit alien smuggling or harboring, carry the same penalties. Courts can impose consecutive prison sentences for each alien smuggled or harbored. A court may order a convicted smuggler to pay restitution if the alien smuggled qualifies as a victim under the Victim and Witness Protection Act. Conspiracy to commit crimes of sheltering, harboring, or employing illegal aliens is a separate federal offense punishable by a fine of up to $10,000 or five years' imprisonment...

IMO it would be a great disservice to anyone to perpetuate their illegal status by hiding them. It will only get worse and worse for them as overpopulation on the planet increases.

A better choice might be to develop a social service organization that could cooperate with ICE on sensible case- specific concerns. A legal vehicle could be developed whereby supporters of a particular illegal could provide feedback make case-specific financial donations to help fund and guide an illegal in the currently operative way that they could achieve legality.

Hard-heareted people posting in this thread should realize that too severe an approach in this matter could eventually lead to a national identity challenge to many natural-born citizens of this country, particularly if the laws are changed so that birth in this country is no longer sufficient to establish citizenship. Look back in your own family histories and see how this could affect you, even if you are presently a citizen, if it were made retroactive. If one great-grandparent slipped in informally three generations ago, could that make you an illegal?

The country has been looking the other way on illegal entry by migrant farm workers and their families because our farmers benefit. It would be wrong to be too unreasonable now that we have a president finally willing to develop a clearer process.

I would like to see these cases determined individually, with reference to the family work record and usage of publicly funded programs such as welfare taken into account. IMO it should NOT be administered by SJW-type social workers, who are professionally required to be "nonjudgmental"--one of the reasons we are seeing so much devolution in this country. When charities were controlled by the church and people had illegitimate children, at least they knew that was frowned upon. Some at the bottom of our social strata today are not being given even an inkling that their chosen or inherited lifestyles are self defeating.

A sad fact he offered and no one would take the Jews in. Even the USA turned back boats of Jews who then had to risk going back to Germany. Seems some how familiar I just cannot place my finger on why that is.......
