WHAT "happens now"? Don't expect your readers to refer back and figure out what you are referring to and risk making a mistake. NEW FLASH: The economy of every type is the powerhouse that drives everything. It provides for prosperity, social development, all goods and the distribution of goods, .... EVERYTHING. And so the government of every country always works to support, advance, defend, preserve, and benefit the economy of the country and particularly the most successful, most powerful, most wealthy businesses of that economy in that country.

Hence, the economy of a country is the foundation on which all else is built and depends, always. So to suggest that a government does something other than support, advance, defend, preserve, and benefit the economy of the country and particularly the most successful, most powerful, most wealthy businesses of that economy in that country is absurd.
