Yes weve covered this months ago already. Child rapist goes to heaven god forgives....non believer who has done nothing and spent his whole life helping people burns in fire for eternity. Do you have any idea how crazy tha sounds? No god would design skepticism then burn his creation for following free will.

To answer your question there....No, he doesn't. :)

it's the logical extension of Christian dogma. You can be the most evil, vile, genocidal, infanticidal, rapist/serial killer in the world.....but "repent your sins...and 'really mean it" five seconds before you die....and you get into Heaven.

Be a decent caring person who never harmed anything or anybody....but commit the Unforgivable Sin of ....doubting God's existance?!?!!?!?.....

You get an eternity of pain and torture.

Such is the nature of the "loving and just" God.

Right on the money. How does one not see the glaring issue with that?

What are you whinning about now? You are real good in name calling. You say this thread is offensive yet you continually come here...why is that? So because in your view, your perspective, you can be offensive to others because you feel this thread offends you?

You are certainly not getting an apology from me because in my view, my perspective, the things that I have said regarding/relating to Scripture is not intended to offend you. You want to take that way so be it.

Doesn't make sense, you made this comment in thread 6 and now we're on thread 15 and you're still here...lol

I believe you're still here because you are not comfortable in what you believe in, you are still searching but at the same time frustrated. Clearly it's obvious you are frustrated when you start to resort to name calling, put downs, using obscene language, very typical of one who is frustrated and that's a habit you can't seem to overcome.

Sorry you don't like the answers I or any other Christian gives on these threads but hey you can spare yourself from being offended by them by not coming here, after all in your view, your perspective this thread is offensive.

Did I say you did? Do you know what a ? at the end of a sentence means? So, no I did not misinterpret, your mind compelled you to miscomprehend.
So, how does one continuously twist and distort everyone's post. Either they are resorting to lying or have trouble with language and come off as ignorant. IF you're so concerned about how people interact with the poster, maybe you should consult said poster and help him understand the continuous distortions put forth by the poster. Done on purpose to make christians look foolish.

No wrong comprehension on my part. However your spelling shows the whole story of your feeble attempt to launch an assault at me.

I am not sure... How do you do it?

Such as using terms like "miscomprehend"?

What distortions have been "put forth by the poster"? What was done on purpose to make Christians look foolish?

You are such a funny guy...lol He tells us what He thinks as written in the Holy Bible, yes that's right God speaks to us through the Scriptures in the Holy Bible. And I haven't read anywhere in the Bible where God tells us He likes sin (cruelty, violence, treachery)...have you? But I have read where He punishes sin...haven't you?

Once again He tells us through His masterpiece best selling book of all time that He inspired the authors of the Bible to write.

Clearly it's you who is the one that's clueless. When I quote Scripture which I have done numerous of times on these threads it is not my words but it's the Words of God. Let me point this out to you since you need to be reminded, the Holy Bible is the infallible Word of God...write that down in your notebook!

And please show me where I supposedly made this claim to speak for God as God's messenger on earth on equal footing with Yeshua. I can honestly say I have never ever made such a claim and so where is that quote of mine making such a claim?

If you can't produce a quote of mine making such a claim then it's obvious you are spewing out falsehoods....yes?

And your external evidence for this is.....?

If you accept that the Bible itself is evidence, then every science book written must be taken as authoritative, and we know well that some things are proved wrong. Every SciFi book that claims it is true must be accepted.

How can they? If they create a template where "even if Stalin or Pol Pot repented on their death bed...and meant it...they still have to endure SOME kind of punishment for his past actions"....it goes against what the Bible teachs.

UNLESS....they are Catholic. In which case, the manufactured "Purgatory" comes into play. Where you "earn off" (or "burn off") your sins before you're allowed into Heaven. This especially works for those who aren't necessarily evil, but just not Christian (or obviously Catholic to the RCC :) )....and makes God out to be less of a weird-ass control freak who'll punish a doubter....but will welcome a "repentant" mass murderer in the Pearly Gates with a laurel and hardy handshake.

    But Protestants...like MR....he doesn't have that option.

Another example of where MR....completely fails to see the irony of his own statement in comparison to himself.

Presumption on your part. Do you know the mind of God? If you say that you do, then you are admitting that God does exist.

If God punishes sin then God should be punishing himself as he commits sins against his own commands numerous times in Scripture.

(Hmmm perhaps this is why God came to earth and hung himself on a cross ?- it was not our sins that he was punishing himself for but his own)

What sin did Job commit that warranted killing of his whole family ?
What sin did King Sihon commit that warranted killing of all the townspeople in his land ? Deut 2.

I did not make the law (Children should not be killed for the sins of their parents) yet God has a nasty habit of killing babies and in at least one case "killing children in front of their parents"

    Matt 7
What kind of fruit is this ?

So when you read these passages in scripture - what is God speaking to you about ? Breaking your own agreements, laws and engaging in ridiculous cruelty to others that do not share your religious belief ? That killing whole towns of people on the basis of something you did is OK (King Sihon), that killing someone's family over a bet with Satan is Just (Job) ?

    Islam would be proud.

It is these and other irrational acts that is part of the reason why I do not believe the Bible is 100% - literal word of God.

Neither you nor I have any clue if anything in the Bible is inspired never mind all of it. "the book says so" So what, do you believe that just because something is written in a book that makes it true ?

The point of denial here is that you can not admit that you really do not know for certain if anything in the Bible is the "infallible Word of God'

How many different religions make this claim. Do you also believe that the Qu'ran is the infallible word of God and Joseph Smith's tome.

As soon as one makes the statement "God says" one is speaking for God, as Gods messenger. It is one thing to say "The Bible says", quite another to say God says.

You can not prove that the Bible is Gods Word and that is a fact. Did God sit down with you personally and tell you "this is my word". First question I would have asked is "then why did you do so many irrational things"

The second area of "speaking for God" and perhaps a far greater sin is when you make a claim based on "grey" scripture and say "this is Gods word".
In this case you are giving your own interpretation of scripture and claiming it to be "Gods Word".

Even if it was the case that the Bible was "100% inspired" this does not mean that your interpretation is "100% inspired" and thus you are claiming to speak for God by putting words in Gods mouth that do not necessarily exist.

I will give you one example but there are many others- The claim that "God says pre-marital sex is wrong" based on the passage from Matt 5 where Jesus states that anyone who looks at a woman in lust commit's adultery.

There are numerous interpretations of this passage but numerous Biblical scholars and many of these interpretations contradict each other. Is each interpretation "Gods Word"

Let me step back for a bit and explain why I am so adamant about this one and then point to scripture for validation.

The speaking for God thing "some dudes interpretation of what God meant" has been and continues to be the cause of so much evil in the world. Look at the example of the Churches hatred and killing of Jews for over 1000 years. Does the Bible tell us to "kill Jews" ? I don't believe it does but various Popes who claimed to be speaking for God, Gods emissary on earth, did. Look at all the people who were tortured, burned at the stake because of Church leaders claiming "God says".

Today we have Islam following the same path. All it takes is someone to present an idea that some Imam deems blasphemous to the Qu'ran and fatwa can be put out where it is the duty of every Muslim to Kill this person because "the Imam speaks for God".

    Now look to scripture:
Who do you think Jesus is referring to here ? Do you think these False Prophets are going to show up with horns and a red cape ? Of course not. They will be adorned and ordained. They will be church leaders and speak like "Jesus this , Jesus that". God says this and God says that.

Who is Jesus talking about ? It is passages like these that make me think that perhaps parts of the Bible are inspired because they are so either prophetic or insightful.

    Matt 24:
This passage calls for understanding. Many will come "in my name". These people will come as followers of Jesus. You can not be both a follower of Jesus and "the messiah" so what does this mean ?

Claiming to speak for God is claiming "I am the Messiah" because only the Messiah speaks for God.

Right after this passage Jesus talks about the "abomination of desolation = awful horror" with a strange caption stating "understand what this means".

I think to myself hmmm .. this is cool. Not often does the Bible put this kind of emphasis on understanding. The abomination of desolation is when a person, usually a ruler, sets himself up as a God-like figure and claims to speak for God. More on this is found in Maccabees.

When have people who "speak in tongues" they are supposedly channeling Gods word. This is "speaking for God" by definition. I once had a situation in a church where two different people "speaking on tongues" had the interpreters come to contradictory results on a certain point of scripture.

Obviously only one interpretation could be correct but both, because both were "speaking for God" was Gods word. This of course is impossible so there was conflict and the Church was divided over the issue. One of my relatives who is high up in the Church (responsible for hiring and firing ministers) had to do in and resolve the dispute. That particular Church is no longer part of the parent denomination.

Here is some interesting commentary (surprisingly) from a Pentecostal fellow:
    http://www.premiumtimesng.com/opini...-not-the-word-of-god-1-by-femi-aribisala.html

    I found this particularly interesting:

If you aren't speaking for God, then what are you speaking for? The dark side?
You flatly refuse to take bible verses at their word and make up your own interpretation. Er, you copy the interpretations of many from some website.

You have failed many times in the verses about God hardening the pharoah's heart. Even though the verse is explicit in it writing. You change and distort many verses to suit your own personal belief and God.

You even appear to support another posters claim that all the children, babies, and fetuses were cannibalized in noahs time. What kind of christianity supports such nonsense?

Well since God created evil, if he likes evil, why punish it. If he dislike evil, why create it?

Are you saying all the youth of the world are confused? I disagree, they are all not confused, just the ones who don't have Jesus in their lives, who are not followers of our Lord Savior Jesus Christ, they are the ones who are confused just as confused as all the adults in the world who don't have Jesus in their lives, who are not followers of our Lord Savior Jesus Christ.

These confused individuals have no guidance but of course if they asked for guidance from our Lord Savior Jesus Christ they will no longer be confused.

Again let me repeat, Scripture tells us that, "For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 NLT

Well good, at least you recognize that living a righteous life is far better and more advantages than living a life of wrongdoing and unrighteousness.

God wants us all to live the righteous way.

We read in Scripture, "There is joy for those who deal justly with others
and always do what is right."---Psalms 106:3 NLT

Universalism, or the belief that everyone will be saved and go to heaven, is an attractive notion to many Christians, and a view that many atheists wish Christians would adopt.

Unfortunately, it's incompatible with Scripture, thus God is not a universalist.

The way to heaven is through Jesus Christ, anyone who rejects Jesus Christ as their Lord Savior will not go to heaven according to Scripture which is the infallible Word of God.
