Regardless of your political views, how could anyone vote for someone who is:

-- A serial liar. How can you trust anything he says? I’m not talking about the occasional self-serving lie that all politicians (and people) tell. I’m talking about telling flat-out whoppers, time after time, over and over again.
-- A serial flip-flopper. How do you know where he really stands? I’m not talking about someone who changes their mind. I’m talking about someone who flip flops repeatedly, over and over, often within the same day or week.
-- Completely ignorant of the basics of the job. Running the government is not like running a business, or being a journalist, or anything like that. Government is not selling widgets, the president is in many ways more constrained than a CEO, and the world is not some sort of pseudo-market where things like market share are a zero-sum game, and where there are rules and regulations to limit what can be done. And there’s more at risk, too: if a company goes down because of CEO mistakes, big deal. If a country goes down, bigger deal.
-- Holds sexist, racist views of women and minorities.
-- Is an admirer of authoritarian leaders, including those that oppose the United States.
-- Has a history of shady business dealings, including one that is the subject of a class-action suit claiming fraud

Yet that is precisely what Trump supporters are preparing to do. This post is going to detail exactly what they’re planning to vote for.

    SERIAL LIAR

His tax returns: he said he couldn’t release them while they were being audited – a flat out lie, and one that doesn’t explain why he won’t release older tax returns that have already completed the audit process.
    http://www.politico.com/story/2016/02/republican-2016-debate-donald-trump-tax-audit-219842

His tax returns, Part II: He also said, back when he was questioning Obama’s citizenship status, that if Obama released his birth certificate, then Trump would release his returns if he ran for president. Obama has released his certificate, but Trump is still refusing to release his returns.
    http://www.nydailynews.com/news/pol...rsy-stars-clinton-attack-ad-article-1.2636966

He claimed to have talked with Marco Rubio: This just shows how routine Trump’s lying is. He makes up a story to get him through the question being asked, claiming he had talked to Rubio recently and that Rubio had “said very nice things” about him. It was immediately debunked, hard.
    http://heatst.com/politics/absolutely-not-marco-rubio-wont-be-donald-trumps-vp-or-call-him/

Campaign funding: He claimed to be self-funding his campaign – except he was also soliciting donations, which eventually made up 25% of his campaign budget. And the self-funded part was a loan – he is expected to use donations to pay the loans back. So he didn’t self-fund at ALL.
    https://www.opensecrets.org/pres16/candidate.php?cycle=2016&id=N00023864&type=f

Pretending Trump Steaks still exist: He was criticized for having failed businesses. So he did a photo op to pretend those failed businesses still existed.
    http://www.npr.org/2016/03/09/469775355/trump-doesnt-own-most-of-the-products-he-pitched-last-night

Pretending to be his spokesman, then denying it, then admitting it, then denying it: In 1991, Donald Trump pretended to be a Trump spokesman named John Miller during an interview with People Magazine. Before the article went to press, Trump called the reporter to admit it was him and apologize. When this same incident was brought up in May 2016, Trump again denied it was him.
    http://www.people.com/article/insid...-own-spokesperson-marla-maples-shamed-fess-up

Trump University: Trump is facing a class-action lawsuit from people claiming his university promised personal involvement from Trump, among other things – none of which materialized. The purpose of Trump University seemed to be mostly a bait-and-switch scam – convincing people to pay ever larger amounts of money for the next round of seminars. He operated it without the required business license, leading a judge to find him personally liable for the company’s debts in 2014. Among the lies mixed in with the fraud: Trump claimed in an infomercial to have “handpicked” the instructors, but admitted in a 2012 deposition that he didn’t select a single one. He attempted to intimidate one of the plaintiffs, Tarla Makaeff, with a $1 million defamation suit. His suit was tossed out, and he was ordered to pay her nearly $800,000.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_University#Allegations_of_impropriety_and_lawsuits

Fact check record: Trump has the worst “pants on fire” and “Four Pinocchio” record in fact-check history. His collection of straight-out lies and fantasies is unrivaled.
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...d-trumps-four-pinocchio-ratings-in-one-place/

    SERIAL FLIP-FLOPPER

His tax returns: First he said he would love to release them. Then he said he wouldn’t. Then he lied about whether he could release them, due to audits. Then he said he wouldn’t release them. Then he said he would release them when the audits were complete – but gave no timeline, and no explanation why he couldn’t release the returns that have already been audited.

Meanwhile, EVERY SINGLE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE FOR THE LAST SEVERAL DECADES has released their full, unredacted returns. It’s only an issue for Trump. Which strongly suggests he is hiding something.

The point here isn’t whether you think it’s important that he release his returns. The point is that he has repeatedly flip-flopped about what he is going to do, and lied about the reasons.

His tax plan: On Trump’s tax plan, he said it would be “all about the middle class.” Then when it was released, it was all about tax cuts for the rich, and would cost $10 trillion. When this was pointed out, Trump called it “just a starting point” – he disowned his own plan! But then his spokesperson said no, the plan wouldn’t change after all.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/13/u...lan-spokeswoman-says-as-confusion-reigns.html

Muslim ban: He called for a complete ban on Muslim immigration. Full stop. Now he says it was merely a “suggestion”.
    http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/12/politics/donald-trump-muslim-ban/

Even if you agree with some of what he says, how can you trust that it's what he actually means? Was he lying then, or is he lying now?

    COMPLETELY IGNORANT

How to handle the debt: Trump suggested we could “refinance” our debt, or buy it back at a discount – basically, make creditors take a haircut. To do that, you’d have to basically threaten to default on the debt – which would jack up our borrowing costs, erasing any savings we might enjoy on our existing debt.
    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-m...-look-donald-trumps-comments-about-refinanci/
    http://www.politicalforum.com/elections-campaigns/455405-trump-proposes-defaulting-our-debt.html

Mexico wall: He claims we’ll build a wall, and Mexico will pay for it. The wall he envisions would be expensive (at least $5 billion to build, and another $1 billion a year in maintenance), and the idea that Mexico will pay for it is fantasy. He later said that he might put a tax on foreign remittances – money immigrants send to relatives living in their birth country – to pay for it. Beyond the obnoxious double-taxation aspect of such a move (and putting aside his apparent belief that the Mexican government is somehow the recipient of these payments), there are only about $24 billion a year in remittances. So he’d have to take a significant chunk of it to pay for the wall. And he hasn’t said how he’ll pay for the REALLY expensive part of the plan – deporting those immigrants already here.
    http://www.politico.com/story/2015/08/donald-trumps-immigration-tab-166-billion-121500
    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/apr/5/donald-trump-pay-us-mexico-border-wall-threatening/

Foreign policy: Donald Trump gave a foreign-policy speech, reading from a teleprompter to avoid going off script in an area he clearly knows very little about. It was a disaster nonetheless. He said “America is going to be a reliable friend and ally” – then threatened to abandon our friends and allies if they didn’t cough up more money. It’s almost as if he doesn’t know what the word “reliable” means. He offered up all sorts of vague claims, but provided no details of how they would work, or why he thought they even COULD work.
    http://www.dw.com/en/europe-to-donald-trump-your-foreign-policy-is-a-scary-mess/a-19222244

Let Japan/Korea have nukes: Want a nuclear arms race in Asia? Want more nations to have nuclear weapons? Trump does!
    http://www.cbsnews.com/news/donald-trump-japan-south-korea-might-need-nuclear-weapons/

Destroyed 500-year-old tapestries: This was a small detail in a New York Times profile, but it demonstrates his ignorance, disregard and carelessness. The woman who built Mar-a-Lago, Marjorie Merriweather Post, decorated part of the house with Flemish tapestries from the 1500s. She protected them from the Florida sunlight by drawing the drapes during the brightest hours. After Trump bought the place, he opened the curtains and left them open. The tapestries are now badly faded because of the intense sunlight.
    http://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/16/us/politics/donald-trump-butler-mar-a-lago.html?_r=0

And this doesn’t even get into his sexism and racial stereotyping. It doesn’t get into him making fun of a disabled reporter. It doesn’t get into his open admiration for Vladimir Putin. It doesn’t get into his repeating stories from the National Enquirer as fact.

And then there’s his rank hypocrisy: A man who has had multiple affairs accuses Ted Cruz of having affairs! A man who is a serial liar accuses other candidates of lying! A man who freely insults opponents complains when he gets insulted!

I get not liking Hillary Clinton or Ted Cruz. What I don’t get is how Trump could possibly look like the answer. He is everything they are and worse.

Imperfect as he may be, He is not part of the establishment that lost the middle class, lost the borders, lost trillions of dollars, lost the Middle East, lost any shame they might have once had.

That he has correctly identified the huge problems ailing the country trumps all other considerations as it should. The rest I am afraid, is just typical and meaningless election time bickering and name calling... The bottom line is, he is correct on issues, Hillary had no idea there are issues.

Good list of Trump's nonsense and I'll just take one piece of it.

Trump's foreign policy speech was met with derision throughout the world. Now he's saying he might not be able to work with the UK's Prime Minister, a situation that would seriously undermine America's influence in Europe. This is the clown who said he could work with anyone.

Which one of the twenty " odd " assigned reporters from the Washington Post are you...

That's gotta be the weakest " Hit " piece in quite awhile on someone.

Maybe you can devote your energy on Hillary Clinton and use the same format......Just a helpful hint:

There's so much Truthful Data on that Criminal Woman you will need to post it in sections on this forum.

Good Luck with your New Project.

That's a great reason to elect him. Obama got the Nobel peace prize and is beloved in Europe, thanks to his competence the Middle East is in flames, Russia and China steal land from neighbors with impunity and Europe is falling apart, lest we forget domestic problems that he has created or exacerbated.

Trump loves Putin. They'd be best buddies as Putin continues to occupy Crimea and watches Trump dismantle NATO for him.

Trump is amazing. He's a winner. He is not a liar or corrupt like Crooked Hillary.

Everything he touches turns to gold or yellow, or orange. He's smarter and better
    than Hillary in every way.

All the lies the media and the haters tell about him the public is not buying.

In fact, every time you tell a lie about Trump, his poll numbers go up. It has the
opposite effect because everyone knows the establishment and the media are
out to get him. People hate the media and the establishment so we know that
Trump is right based on all the attack being launched against him.

People who hate Trump are just a bunch of anti-white racist anglophobe haters.

Yeah, I completely disagree with Trump on Putin.... But Obama's indecisiveness and spinelessness is what has enabled Putin and China and ISIS and North Korea and Assad (in no particular order). For decades the world hasn't been such a dangerous, chaotic and lawless place as it has become after 8 years of Mr. European Congeniality being the leader of the free world.

there are several reasons why people like Trump:

-he plays on people's fears of the "other". He plays on racism, bigotry, hatred of immigrants, hatred/fear of Muslims.

-he acts like a macho man. He claims to reject "PC" stuff. He surrounds himself with beautiful but brainless women. He's sorta like Putin, that way.

-he's rich. he has fancy cars and planes. he has nice houses. he's the guy many Americans envy and wish they had been.

-he's an ass. A lot of American respect asses. They think they are cool. They don't like politeness and civility.

Neither Trump nor Clinton is the answer. Neither belongs even close to the White Office let alone the Oval Office. Voting for one is just as bad as voting for the other. As far as I am concerned there is no worst when it comes to Clinton and Trump. Having to choose between them is like choosing between the devil and satan. You lose either way. I will be taking the road least traveled, I will be voting third party, for Gary Johnson. I trust neither and shame, double and triple shame on our two major parties for making America have to chose between these two.

Our two party system is an utter failure this time around. I hope you Republican and Democrats are ready for what is about to happen. After all, it is all your fault.

Trump doesn't love Putin. Trump believes he knows how to deal with Putin unlike the current community organizer who has appeased Putin for 7 1/2 years and given Putin everything he wanted with nothing in exchange.

Trump being a real estate developer in the N.Y. City area had to deal with the mob so I'm pretty sure Trump can deal with international bullies like Putin.

Obama has only had to deal with the Black Panthers and he appeased them didn't he ?

Who was President when Iran and Iraq went to war or when Iraq invaded Kuwait? The ME has been a basket case since WWI and there are actually fewer conflicts in the world than at just about any time in recent history.

Understatement of the year. There's imperfect, and then there is "thin-skinned naif who is a serial liar and flip-flopper". Trump is not merely imperfect. He is totally unsuitable for the job.

Neither is the guy at the shop who can't find his ass with both hands. Doesn't qualify him to be president. "Not establishment" might be a necessary requirement for some voters, but it does not by itself qualify someone for the presidency.

Some of the things you are blaming "the establishment" for are beyond our control (the globalization of the economy) or are difficult, complicated, expensive issues to address (border security. the Middle East). More importantly, Trump doesn't have any actual solutions for the problems he's identified. The "solutions" he has come up with are either extremely vague ('trust me!') or just plain stupid (see the OP). His ideas are also self-contradictory -- he's going to get us out of foreign entanglements, but he's going to be totally willing to intervene anywhere in the world on a moment's notice! His policies don't make sense EVEN ON THEIR OWN TERMS.

Never mind that many of the "problems" he has identified aren't actually problems. America's economy is doing pretty well, especially compared to the rest of the world. Our military? Still without peer, still stronger than the next 10 militaries combined. America still leads the world in research and development. Most measures of social ills (crime, poverty, etc.) are at historic lows.

Identifying large problems is easy -- they're large. Nothing he has identified -- other than the made up stuff -- is news.

The key is having a workable, plausible plan for addressing them.

Does he have any clue what to do to solve them? No.

So to sum up: You don't care that Trump is a serial liar. You don't care that he is a serial flip-flopper. You don't care that he has no idea what he's talking about. He's not establishment, and says some things you like (even though he has flip-flopped on most of them, and lied so often I don't see how you can believe a word he says). So that's all that matters.

    Really?

I posted a list or 22 Hillary's flip flops, they cost thousands of lives, millions of jobs and trillions of dollars. The list of her lies and failures is actually even longer, her supporters on this site have consistently failed to come up with a single accomplishment and a single new idea she has for the future of the country.

Meanwhile Trump has made billions of dollars, built an empire and a brand and is employing 55,00 americans. He has correctly identified the issues destroying this country, Hillary had no idea these issues even exist. Sorry but this is a no-brainer, a successful businessman vs a corrupt to her core, unprincipled politician fully owned by lobbyists, donors, special interests and Wall Street.

It would be interesting to know the number. It may be that his actions by outsourcing to China and Mexico might have resulted in a net loss of jobs in America even if he does employ people here.

Not important. That he is employing 55,000 americans though is the only thing that matters... How many people has Hillary employed, how many days has she spent in private sector? Why did she send millions of perfectly good middle class american jobs overseas, why did she borrow and squandered trillions in our name, what does she have to show for it besides her donors and corporate masters getting insanely rich? Why did she send our troops to Iraq where thousands of Americans died and hundreds of billions were wasted?

wow, you disregard everything that shatters your Messianic worship of Trump. I feel sorry, for you.

and by the way, I don't believe for a second that you were against the Iraq War, back in 2003.

Your posts reek of Neo-Conservatism, Neo-Zionism, and regular gung-ho GOPishness.

It is important. For every person he employs in other countries, for every foreign worker he employs in his hotels he's put an American out of work.

So how many does he employee in other countries Borat? Why don't you know that number?
