I firstly declare I'm pro American for many reasons. Putting that aside it has interested me for a long time as to why Americans as a race are hated. I can only assume because I havent ventured outside of Australia. The contact I've had with US soldiers back in the 1970's was limited when I was in the Royal Australian Air Force and like on many occasions it was during a war...Vietnam albeot at the end. I wasnt in combat but I met many defence members. So here is a country that frankly has and continues to pursue a worlds "policemans" intent. To some non Americans this is not acceptable because it results in loss of their own power base, perhaps a resistance towards a democratic system and changes in traditions thousands of years old. Religious differences I find curious. America, the land of the free, free to practice your chosen religion of choice where compared to many countries is frowned upon, you'd think that would be appreciated by all but turmoil proves otherwise. America the worlds policeman, the land of the free...what is the main reasons so many countries resent her?
Could it be America's blind support of Israel? Israel ignores U.N. resolutions and gets away with it, but when North Korea ignores resolutions Trump threatens to nuke them. Double standards?
These days the US isn't intelligent enough to be the world's policeman I'm afraid, as witness how they always make a mess of things wherever they go.
I don't think the American people are hated too much. I think it's the actions of the U.S. government around the world that creates the animosity. American's suffer too because of the actions of these governments which are essentially agents of the elite, the Military Industrial Complex and foreign countries like Israel and Saudi Arabia. The answer is to somehow remove money from politics and ban lobbyists. Then, in time, you'll end up with politicians who work for the people, rather than the elites etc, and U.S. actions abroad might change to reflect this.
Why is this in "latest news", it hardly has anything to do with that; and there's no link to a source. Should be in "political opinions and beliefs."
I don't think it really has anything to do with what the USA does around the world. We do good things and we do bad things. Sometimes we're right and sometimes we're wrong. I think it's because we usually get our way. We're like that sports team that everybody hates because it wins too much.
If you think Iraq, Libya and Syria lying in ruins and over a million innocent dead is 'winning', then I'd hate to see what you'd consider losing to transpire.
So Korea, Vietnam and the millions of dead, all the regime changes and overthrows of government like in Iran and the propping up of the sick Saudis while they spread their deviant take on Islam: Wahhabism, all over the world with the blessing of the U.S. Any of that considered 'winning'? It probably would be for those who became obscenely wealthy due to cheap oil, arms sales and so on. But what did the people of America get for it? Nothing! Sadly, now, the criminals that perpetuate all this madness are deeply embedded in government and represented in the media, so even if someone truly opposed to such warmongering becomes president they've little chance of stopping it. P.S. I would like to say that Trump might have been that person, given his pre-election anti-war rhetoric, but he has embraced the sick Saudis and is constantly stirring up anti-Iranian hatred, so I think he's just another Zionist puppet.
This is a nifty discussion to be had in another section of the forum. Your thread title isn't news. It's not supported by anything but your opinions and further you have no links to support it. Even if you did.. It still wouldn't be news Thread creation guidelines are our friends.
I'm asking a question because I'm interested in an answer you dont provide. Are links compulsory? Are you the forum mortgager?
Sigh. It's a good question. But it's not news. Has no business here. If people just posted whatever wherever.. This place would be chaos. And yes links supporting an assertion that is related to to the thread title is needed in the news section of the forum.
You edited your post to throw down a personal attack? That last line. Petty. And I find your OP to be flamebait but here I will tell you how to not get a posting like this flamebait not deleted or moved from News. 1. Find a current news article or current event that says Why is America Hated? Now it meets the requirements of thread title 2. You need to make an assertion. IE your opinion on the matter or question I guess if your to weak to propose an opinion. 3 . Copy paste a snip from aforementioned article and put it in your OP 4. Then link the article snip you pasted Congratulations you are now the proud owner of the methodology on how to troll the News forums. Your welcome.
Iraq was bush's mistake and libya was obama and hillary clinton But America did not cause the civil war in syria although we have sided with the rebels against the dictatorship
An excellent rhetorical question! As Maxfinn has pointed out rightly, the US government is hated, not so much the American people. And there is a difference between the people of a country and its government. As Sam Clemons noted, patriotism means supporting your country all the time, and its government only when it deserves it. The US government is despised because it has been invading countries, overthrowing legitimate governments covertly, and otherwise committing criminal acts against humanity at least since about 1950. The chickens are coming home to roost.
"Why is USA hated"? Well... Hmmm... Having a Constitution that would facilitate the election of an UNPREPARED IMBECILE like Trump (who post the NPV by almost 3 million votes) would be a good starting point.
I cannot speak for the entire world but I think that America's unconditional support of ANY Israeli war crime, act of aggression, human rights violation etc is certainly one reason the US government is disliked throughout the Islamic world and probably much of the rest of the world. Please note: “Every time anyone says that Israel is our only friend in the Middle East, I can’t help but think that before Israel, we had no enemies in the Middle East.”– John Sheehan, Society of Jesus. (Jesuit priest) As a very obvious American, I spent 10 - 11 months hitch hiking / walking throughout the Islamic Mid East without a single hostile encounter. My experience was that the Muslims & other groups of people I've met around the globe don't dislike the American people as much as they dislike what our US government does especially on behalf of Israel: “QUIETLY LOBBYING CONGRESS TO APPROVE THE USE OF FORCE IN IRAQ WAS ONE OF AIPAC’S SUCCESSES OVER THE PAST YEAR.” AIPAC Executive Director Howard Kohr; N.Y. Sun, Jan. 2003
No. However, hatred of Jews is the oldest bigotry in the world and some people will go to any contortions to find any excuse to attack Israel and Jews regardless of the topic, including some Democrats on this forum. Most people don't give a rat's ass about those white liberals and Muslim radicals of such intense hatred of Jews and Israel. Exactly why, again, do you think this topic is relevant to your message's hatred of Israel and Jews?
