I believe you said only Islamic countries and Russia hate us but if you now admit most of Europe is socialist and isn't in love with us either then yes you are correct
It's complicated and filled with human nature. The US will do things in its best interests. The rest of the World will do things in its best interests. The western world will attempt to use the power of the US to suit it's best interest. There are conflicts and manipulations that go with that. The US can use it's power to force things for its best interests. The US tends to veer away from that maneuver, however the fact that we have leverage is enough to create angst. Add to all that, that patriotism is considered bad taste for most Western countries, and energy that should go to a healthy appreciation for one's own country is directed towards a resentment to another country whose citizens do appreciate and want to keep what they have.
In Germany the USA is nit hated but seen critical by a large majority. The reason is, that USA appears hyprocritical in so many instances that people simply notice that.
Iraq was the Israel lobby including the Neocons: I would suggest Libya was more Clinton than Obama, but of course the Israel lobby/Neocons wanted it too. WikiLeaks Reveals How the US Aggressively Pursued Regime Change in Syria, Igniting a Bloodbath
There is no doubt it is due to the actions and words of Democratic Presidents and candidates of the Democratic Party - and a constitution that would allow the lowest educated and racists demographics to pick them. This starts with such as the genocidal racist and sadist tyrant you indicate by your ID choice is in your opinion the greatest man - white of course - to have ever lived and your personal model you wish to indicate is your political mentor - a slave owner, genocidal racist and sadist, mass murderer, total defiance of the rule of law and US Constitution - on thru the racist Dixiecrat KKK racist, liar, traitor and thieves of the Clintons. The non-stop push for racial hatred, violence and murder by the Democratic Party convinces some people that such malcontents represent a majority of Americans, when they do not.
Hated or not I feel I hit the birth lottery being born here. As another poster says there are millions of people world wide that want to come here. If America is so damn bad why is that?
It's the New York Yankee or New England Patriot syndrome. Success breeds many emotions. For many it leads to contempt. Also, the U.S. (with its belief in individual freedom) is the lone hold out in the world to collectivist/socialist thought.
Are you upset the U.S. defended South Korea in the Korean War? The South Korean people are glad they're not part of the North Korean evil dictatorship. Is freedom not worth defending?
Didn't read whole thread. As sad as it is, the rest of the world is either socialist or autocratic, with media controlled by those, hence anti US narratives abound. The world media is the equivalent of CNN or MSNBC on steroids, so don't confuse media narratives for opinions of the actual citizenry. The gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer-MSM Complex in any country resents the productive that it feeds on because the productive are better people all around.
Well, some folks take exception to being bombed by drones run by twentysomethings in the chair force. People automatically resent people with power, whether it be nations or individuals. Folks are disappointed when Americans fail to live up to their often boasted ideals. I give you the Iraq War for example. Then there's the stereotype of the "ugly American", Whuich is often very real. We have one in the White House right now. These are the downside. There is far more IMO on the up side.
America is hated because people don't realize how horrific the world would be without it. Similar to how a teenager hates his parents.
Assad was the most secular leader in the Middle East, and protected all the minorities from the Sunni jihadists. He was loved by most of the Syrians and I know Syrians who were moving back because of what he had done for Syria. Even though I knew that the attack on Serbia was a pretense, and that the attack on Iraq was a pretense as well, I still had faith in my government until Syria. That's what did it. How can Assad be a dictator when he was voted in by most of the Syrian people? Is it because he wouldn't go along with Washington? Kerry, no doubt on Obama's direction, wouldn't accept the results because there was a war going on, even though over 74% of the people voted... yet at the same time he accepted the vote in Ukraine when there was a war going on, and any opposition candidate representing the south and east, was thrown into the trash bin and were under threat not to run by the Nazi Right Sector. That's not the worse though, Obama was ready to bomb Damascus where the tolerant Alawites and Christians went to escape the jihadists, and it would have caused a massacre by Al Queda that the world had never seen. Thank heaven Putin stopped it. Oh and by the way, the protests started because of Soros' and the CIA's NGO's such as USAID. Later on when the Syrians realized they were deceived, they joined Assad and only those allied with the terrorists remained. They are the ones we are supporting.
I would add, it's because we are the only country with a limit on our government that tells our elected officials what they can never do, not up for debate thank you very much.
Same reason why New Englands Patriots QB Tom Brady is about the most hated player in the National Football League for no obvious reason. American football fans will understand this. Nothing really bad seems to happen to him. 1) He and his model/actress girlfriend break up at about the time she gets pregnant.........and he promptly starts seeing and marries an even hotter model. 2) He is suspended for 4 games for violating the rules (Deflategate) and responds by his best year in his long career culminating in leading the greatest come from behind victory in Super Bowl History. To the outside world nothing really bad seems to happen to the U.S. at least in the modern era.
I love slams on American intellect. If a country of morons dominates the globe, what conclusions can be drawn?
When we thought England was unjust, we fought. What is your country doing? Or any country, for that matter.
