You realize that roads and police and laws can all exist without taxation, right?

You really need to work on your reading comprehension.

Except for the police state and the military-industrial complex that Republicans love so much.

    I wasn't vague at all.

Things like roads and laws and law enforcement can all exist without taxation.

All those things can be provided for voluntarily by mutually consenting individuals.

If insurers were allowed to steal your money, they'd be the government.

What if you failed to remove him from the burning car for some reason? Wouldn't that mean you violated his rights, thus committing a crime?

Police state? That's funny. It's the Democrats that used the FBI to spy on the Trump campaign (for no good reason) and used the IRS to shut down conservative groups.

Take the police state and shove it up your ass.

That problem is far worse under the system you endorse because most of the people who use taxpayer funded infrastructure and services do not incur the full cost. In other words, they're free-riding.

Clearly, then, your objection is not to free-riding as such. Rather, your objection is to liberty itself. The thought of other people being free to refuse your demands is not something you're prepared to tolerate.

And yet the Republicans in congress continue to give the FBI billions of dollars.

You're the one who supports the politicians who created and maintain the police state. So maybe you're the one who should shove it.

There was a time when I would have bristled at this. No more. Libertarianism, at least the impulse, the orientation, is the only way out of our current fiscal mess. Maybe environmental and social, too.

Libertarianism is just the modern word for classical liberalism. It's true conservatism.

    You're a Republican.

Republicans are responsible for funding the very swamp that tried to take Trump out.

And they continue to fund it even after the fact.

    Truth hurts.

So you have no obligation to anyone else in society, but everyone else in society has an obligation to you.

    Sounds fair and reasonable!

Liberty, in the whole plenitude of it’s extent, it is unobstructed action according to our will: but rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will, within the limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add ‘within the limits of the law’; because law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual.

Actually, the cornerstone of democracy is self-government. Taxation, on the other hand, is an invention of ancient warlords who needed a way to finance their empires.

    They are the government
They have very powerful lobby that bribes the government to make laws that force me to buy private health insurance.
Even though health insurance it is oxymoron similar to food insurance.

Which wouldn't be a problem if the government did not have that power in the first place.

    No, not really.

Except that no knows what self-government is. It has different meaning for different people. Dictatorship is also can be type of a self-government. Democracy as a form of the government at least nominally indicates that power belongs to the people.

How can dictatorship ever be self government? You mean if 100% of the citizenry supports and obeys the dictator? I suppose.

    It seems fairly self-explanatory.

That depends on how you're defining a dictatorship. In common usage, however, it could never be a form of self-government.

Exactly right. That's the cornerstone of democracy, not progressive taxation.

Hahahaha...that’s your plan? Telling people on a message board that you don’t like paying taxes? Newsflash....no one ‘likes’ paying taxes. But thanks for telling the relatively few of us here that YOU don’t like paying taxes.
In other news, the sun will rise again tomorrow.
