Panic is a choice. There is no reason for panic about Covid. If we take advantage of all the available knowledge on the subject and use the tools that knowledge and existing technologies provide, there’s no need for fear induced panic.

The reason we’ve had hundreds of thousands of deaths is not due to the pathogen, but to a lack of correct information provided to people so they could deal with the pathogen effectively. People see the number of deaths and feel fear because they think they have to be as vulnerable as the dead were. But they didn’t/don’t have to be. It’s a choice.

Yes, just about everything marketed to you plays on your fears. Pharmaceuticals are no different. I don’t know that it’s any worse for pharmaceutical companies to sell to our fears than it is for clothing manufacturers or politicians to sell on our fears. The best way to avoid being sold a bill of goods is to gather enough correct information so that your destiny is in your hands, not in someone’s hands who is trying to sell you something.

Finally, while (depending on availability) it or another chopper might spend part of its flight time doing crowd spotting flights over covid hot spots there are simply to many other tasks the few police choppers are needed for (like rescue work) for assign one to that task 24/7.

Over here the public marketing/advertising of pharmaceuticals is tightly regulated and the pharma's have to be very, very careful about claims made in any advertisement. Tight restrictions also apply to how they can market their drugs to the medical professions. So while adds for 'over the counter' medications will appear on TV etc from time to time campaigns pushing prescription meds are virtually unknown. In fact pharmacists usually ask patients if they want the 'generic (non-branded) alternative whenever a customer comes in to get a script filled - assuming the drug in question is of patent.
