    I don't understand your objections!

Everyday, multiple times a day, the Republicans claim Trump is the Rightful President!

Everyday, multiple times a day, the Republicans claim Biden is a false President illegally elected by the lies and fraud of Democrats and selected official, like the FBI, CIA, the defense networks, and of course ALL of Combined Might of the MSM!

Don't like the daily crying of the majorities of Republican parties and Trump? SHUT UP AND DO SOMETHING USEFUL!

Getting Ball of the insane Trump out of our daily Country's National Inbox is the ball in YOUR court!

I think the bigger issue is that for the lock down policies to be successful, Australia will have to be in lock down and total isolation not letting anyone in their country for eternity.

I think you’re right but for their foreign citizens to be forced to be abroad? Not a good look.

Let me help you out here ..

This has only happened because the leadership of the State in question FAILED to lockdown in the first instance - for reasons of political expediency. That's what they do .. put today's votes ahead of long term freedoms. Had she locked it all down from day one, properly (as in no one goes anywhere), we would never have come to this. It would have been over within two weeks. She also has an aversion to addressing the cultural issues which are behind this outbreak. This is a migrant-driven outbreak, and it's effectively deliberate. What I mean by that is they know full well that they're defying restrictions - they just don't care. They're so determined to avoid compliance that they're letting family members die at home having never seen a doctor. And this is in a nation with universal public healthcare, readily available. There's a disregard which is at complete odds with the presiding culture. Imagine letting your loved one die untreated, just because you didn't want to have to do 14 days quarantine. They might claim they're hiding infections to protect their jobs, but even a child recognises that dead relatives and long term lockdown (the two certain results of such shitty decisions) won't advance your career. They have more or less brought this military strong arming upon themselves. Had they done the right thing from the outset, despite the Govt's pissweak approach, it would never have come to this. Plenty of us do the right thing without being ordered to - and in areas with that higher voluntary compliance, there is much less virus.

So we have a massive cultural problem, coupled with a 'hedge my bets' approach to that cultural problem taken by the leader. It equals disaster. COVID requires an immediate, brutal response - with no concessions made for 'culture'. People who can't handle those kinds of decisions should not be in politics.

We can only hope! Globalism and its infantry (travel) is a freaking disaster from every possible angle.

None of them are. Those who chose to stay overseas despite options to return, have only themselves to blame.

Please know they're not stuck. These are people who turned down earlier opportunities, to 'stay a bit longer', or who didn't like the ticket price, or etc etc etc. There are also those who voluntarily left knowing they might not be able to get back.

    IOW, they're all self-inflicted situations.

It would take an extraordinary set of circumstances for that to happen. They would have to be VERY unhealthy to start with, and then exposed to VERY high viral loads.

Age seems to be the main factor. Seventy-five percent of Covid deaths in the vaccinated are over 70 years of age. As you say though, all the other factors that make unvaccinated more likely to be infected and die are in play as well—especially obesity. Most people still don’t realize being obese not only makes you more likely to have severe Covid, it also makes you more likely to become infected in the first place.

Some good news, experts are finally coming around to the potential of life saving monoclonal antibodies I’ve been recommending for breakthrough infections and those who don’t produce antibodies after infection.
    https://abcnews.go.com/Health/antib...reakthrough-covid-cases-put/story?id=79123722

Now if they would just give these same monoclonal antibodies EUA for use as passive vaccines in people who can’t be vaccinated with the current vaccines and in vaccinated individuals that can’t produce neutralizing antibodies we could cut deaths even further.

    As per usual "sec' is having one of his panic attacks. Facts as follows;

    1) The troops are not armed and there are only 300 or so. Their prime function being to release Police from static duties so that more Police can go mobile and enforce the relevant quarantine restrictions.
    2) So far their 'duties' so far have consisted mostly of assisting with the delivery of food parcels to families in lock down and other logistical related endeavors.
    3) The helicopter pictured in the sensationalist rag sec likes to get his news from is a run of the mill State Police helicopter, which are routinely up in the air over Sydney anyway. In this case however now whenever they are over any restricted areas they can radio in if they see crowds gathering. So far? Nothing much has happened.
    4) Their Commanding Officer superficially confirmed in a public statement that they have no role in law enforcement.
    5) Military personnel in Australia are often deployed these days to assist with disaster relief efforts after major incidents (think large bush fire, cyclones or flood events etc). Just like State or National guard units are in the US.
    6) Local community leaders were initially anxious about their deployment but have since come out in favor saying the soldiers interactions with members of the various ethnic groups in the area have been very positive.
    7) If sec wasn't so one eyed he could have mentioned all of the above in his original post.

Funny I can’t seem to find this story anywhere else - mostly because it didn’t happen. True the police were ready to go that far but the protestors decided it was not worth it and no one turned up

Thanks (I think?). Unfortunately Scarlet Witch begs to differ. Apparently I'm either a minion of 'the man' or else dumb as dog ****. Apparently I'm too hard on anti-vaxers.

I don't know how I'll sleep tonight.

There is certainly an argument that we should be kind to the mentally enfeebled and delusional. There is also an argument that we should try to show understanding to the products of backward, savage cultures that don't prepare them for a fact based world.

However, it is hard to do when they so aggressively promote their delusions to the point of attacking people who try to point out the truth.

even if they got the vax today, sadly it would take about 6 weeks to become fully vaccinated
