Australia deploys helicopters & soldiers to order people to GO HOME in one world’s strictest Covid lockdowns

    https://www.the-sun.com/news/3388310/australia-deploys-military-to-enforce-covid-rules/

HYPERLINK above has full story and video

    snip

GUNG ho Aussie politicians have deployed the army and helicopters to order people to go home in what is one of the world's strictest Covid lockdowns.

    end snip

I don't know the actual count but I believe that Australia has been locked down almost as much as local residents were free

So, they try and cite KNOWN covid cases yet need to deploy these tactics? When will reasonable Aussies say enough is enough of this govt?

This is what happens when "folks were just trying to do the right thing" and abuse the power of their offices and government to inflict the tyranny on their people.

Bad optics...but the simple truth is "too little too late".

It surprises me that only 17% of Australians have been vaccinated.

It's no surprise to us. We can't produce our own mRna vaccine and were over-reliant upon a home-made vaccine that has side effects.

We actually turned down a huge batch of vaccine offered by Pfizer mid-last year.

    Too little enforcement.

Victoria and South Australia imposed a hard lock down immediately and they are already passed it. The right-wing New South Wales state leader hesitated, didn't want to impose on people... This approach kind of worked with the outbreak last yearb in Sydney but with the Delta variant this time around it was nowhere near enough restriction to prevent the virus from spreading.

A better use of the military would be in setting up vaccination centers. Last January my first dose was given to me by a National Guard medic. The second dose was given by a civilian, but the NG were still playing an integral role in managing the venue.

    Common sense I should think.

Australia did originate as a prison colony, and many believe there is a little bit of that same mentality at play, which has shaped the country's history and present.

Another issue is that the policies of the Australian government tend to lean more on the controlling totalitarian side simply because a large percentage of the country's population is concentrated into just a handful of big city areas.

To be fair, a great many of the convicts sent to Australia were simply impoverished children who lifted a bite to eat and were caught red handed. Or even people falsely accused. The justice system wasn’t particularly sophisticated then.

It's not particularly sophisticated now. Prisons are for-profit businesses. Ignore all the social problems, let people try to survive and lock them up when they mess up.

All Australia did was one of the oldest techniques for stopping the plague. Keep a neighborhood on lockdown if there is an outbreak. I support this completely. The bigger issue is the citizens stuck abroad whom Australia won’t let back in.

You say those policies like they are a BAD THING!

As soon as Trump and his Republicans uprights his Law and Order Ship of State, everyone listed here will be on the way to Australia too!
