It is true that he promoted the policy of the federal task force of which he was one member.

Obviously, he was committed to projecting the decision of the task force for that reason.

It was not his position to undermine the policy decisions of the federal task force of which he was a significant member.

I've NEVER claimed that the federal policy at that time and as represented by Dr. Fauci, wasn't formed in the context of SEVERE mask shortages, and thus included moves to reserve masks for medical staff who were very obviously at far more serious risk than anybody else - as their death rate demonstrates.


Now that you failed at that, you add in this crap about cloth masks - another factor for which you have no valid charges against ANYONE.

 

That was THE federal level policy decision concerning masks made at the time.

The federal task force believed that was the correct policy.

Questioning federal task force decisions post facto is fully legit. It could raise important issues that need to be addressed as this is certainly not the last pandemic Earth will face.

But, claiming the policy was a lie attributable to one task force member is just plain BS.

 

At that time, that was the conclusion drawn by the federal level task force.

As analysis (and disease, mask production, understanding cloth masks, etc.) progressed, the recommendations of the federal task force also progressed.


TODAY, I can't visit my doctor if I only wear a high quality multi-layer commercial cloth mask.

Things have progressed to the point where the decision is that people have plenty of access to good quality surgical masks, so that this policy of NO cloth masks is an actual advantage. My guess is that it is because so many cloth masks are total crap, and the proscription of cloth masks is easier to administer.

Once again - policy is INFORMED by science as ONE of many sources of information.

I’ve failed at nothing. It’s a fact Fauci made false statements about efficacy of cloth masks. It’s also a fact he and the CDC recommended against use of N95 masks until September of 2021, over 9 months after N95 masks were in OVERSUPPLY.

Now, you are welcome to provide evidence cloth masks are as good as masks saved for healthcare workers. But if you can’t, Fauci either lied or he’s a moron. Hint: he’s not a moron.

Interesting. So Fauci is a spineless worm who went along with Trump’s bad policy. And he’s such a worm he didn’t reverse said policy under the Biden administration when these masks were in oversupply. Very interesting.

Also, repeating a lie is still lying when you know it’s not true. If we follow your logic, Trump’s press secretaries never lied, nor did anyone in his administration. All individuals in his administration were honest and upright because lying isn’t lying if you do it under the authority of someone else.
