How is this allowed at a publicly funded School?

Based on the schools own descriptor of the event regarding it's purpose and what it's about...no. It really doesn't. It very specifically says BLACK students. Not "students in African American Studies Program" And to prove that point, you can't show me white students being celebrated a black graduation event.

See your problem here is that the school's more detailed descriptor as to what this event is about and it's purpose...fleshes out the ceremony as to who it's for and what it's about. And none of what it says in it's more detailed descriptor than that of the wording on your flyer states that it's for anyone other than Black students.

And the proof of that reality is in the pudding. There are no white students celebrated at these events.

    :)

so white graduates are being celebrated too?

it would be just as wrong to have a white graduates celebration that also allowed blacks to attend the celebration as guests

It seems to be a problem for you.

According to something I've seen, 95% of Berkley is white.

yes, does that make a difference, so segregation of a minority is ok?

diversity is best... segregation has the "us vs them" vibe to it, don't think that is the direction we want to be headed in

btw... "African American Studies graduates".... What type of job does that prepare one for? How many graduates get good paying jobs?

Segregation is a problem as it leads to hate and violence. As we are seeing both grow within society. So grats! We've progressed into taking a step backwards!

    I don't want segregation
As to your other questions, I have no idea. Nor is that the thread topic.

    this is segregation

it's ok, I don't know either, that is why I asked, as if the school makes lots of money with this graduate program, might be why they do this, to entice some in to the program, as not sure what the job outlook is for such a program, so it is related to the topic

Do you have data to show that?
African American Studies Program doesn't have any restrictions on who can enter the program.

But you may be privy to information that hasn't been presented yet.

In post 73, I linked a video of the entire ceremony. When scanning through to see if there actually were any non-black graduates in the procession. They were reading a statement by each student as they walked on stage. There was one who claimed her goal was to "seek and finally realize a truly colorblind society".... while choosing to attend a "black graduation" ceremony. smh

I posted a video of the entire ceremony earlier in the thread. See if you can find a white graduate who chose to participate. It's over 2 hours long, I skimmed through. There could be one I missed! Believe!

No no...in reality. By every metric our societies have suffered from degradation and it's exactly due to **** like this and dipshits progressives who can't seem to figure out the connection with the degradation of our society with segregation.

So, only blacks graduated in this class?
I don't think that proves other skin color people are excluded from taking up that program.

    In your mind.
    Degradation is a subjective term.

From my experience, many elderly people think society has degraded from when they were younger.
And for them, it has. But to the younger people, it's normal.

If it were truly a problem, many white Students at Berkley should be upset.
If they aren't, I don't know why internet people not attending Berkley should be upset.

I didn't say they were. It would be illegal. But, feel free to beat your strawman if you want.

For those who are curious, you can watch the black graduation ceremony here and make a determination for yourself how inclusive or exclusive it is.

    https://www.youtube.com/live/5az9IO_fgTw

Interestingly, these professors teach that any racial outcome that is different than the community proportions is due to racism and discrimination.

    I agree.

    There is no point.

You defend racism, or at least criticize those that call it out, and are unable to see that it is your positions that promulgate continued division of race in this country.

    Not worth debating any further.

Just remember, there are a few who know you are correct but some just love to derail threads with their contrarian nuh-uhs by their own design. Back to what you wrote about the audience, there were no white people at the black graduation ceremony. It is interesting what professors teach and what they actually do. Hypocrites.

Well, to be fair, they probably also teach that only white men can be racist, so they can be as racist as they want and not live by their standards.

That's it exactly. Rules for thee but not for me.
I remember a thread from another political forum where the white loathing libs tried to convince the reader that minorities can't be racist. o_O
