So have we linked atheism ia a the sole motivating force behind certain genocides?

Or are we still not sure if Hitler was a theist?

"I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.."

Of course he didn't say it, he simply wrote it in his book.

Mein K(r)ampf - someone is reading this nonsense? ... Let me see: ... oih yeah you are right - Hitler was indeed an idiot if he thought there is only one idiot in the world who believes in his words.

By the way: Hitler replaced the bible every German got once on traditional reasons on his weeding from the german state with his book "Mein K(r)ampf" and so he made a lot of money.

Your objection does not change the fact that he said it.

So what are your thoughts on his quote? A theist obviously, but an atheist?

    I think not.

One could even say his religious beliefs were a catalyst for the holocaust.

    That's completly unimportant.

Someone who lies with the name of god on his lips thinks that it's more important to impress some people than to speak the truth.

One could - if one would believe in Hitler and one would know nothing about the reality all around.

..... then what is your argument. Your position that he did not state such a thing has been debunked by the existence of his own book.

    Now what?

Usually people add why they disagree in a forum post, instead of just blurting out a declaration of denial. Go ahead and be unique though and 'No' right back at ya.

If that is true, after the fall of Nazi Germany and the threat of Nazi Totalitarianism was no more, why did the vatican help Nazi's escape justice?

did the Vatican Refugee Organisation not issue false papers to fleeing Nazis?

if i recall, Rome was a primo destination to escape war crime charges.

This does not come across in English.

Please explain what you are trying to say.

How am I defending your Jewish ancestors against you?

Why would I be tried? Or Hero?

The Vatican moves at a snail's pace on EVERYTHING!

I don't care what it "looks like"--I care what it is. What would you have the Church do? All be gassed in the chambers? Shot and burned in pits and then covered over? If you're looking to criticize, you'd call that action foolish! The Church survived to be a support to her people and the people of the world.

    Violations

When the Nazi government violated the concordat (in particular Article 31), the bishops and the Papacy protested against these violations. Pius XI considered terminating the concordat, but his secretary of state and members of the curia, who feared the impact upon German Catholics, dissuaded him, as they believed it would result in the loss of a protective shield. Cardinal Pacelli acknowledged his role in its retention after the war.[60]

Articles 31-32 relate to the issue of Catholic organizations “devoted exclusively to religious, cultural and charitable purposes” and allowed for the Reich government and German episcopate to “determine, by mutual agreement , the organizations and associations which fall within the provisions of this article.” Organizations that had any political aims no longer had any place in the new Germany so are not even mentioned in these clauses. [55] Article 32 gave to Hitler one of his principle objectives: the exclusion of the clergy from politics such that “the Holy See will issue ordinances by which the clergy and the religious will be forbidden to be members of political parties or to be active on their behalf.” [55]

    Violations
According to John Jay Hughes, church leaders were realistic about the Concordat’s supposed protections.[15] Cardinal Faulhaber is reported to have said: "With the concordat we are hanged, without the concordat we are hanged, drawn and quartered."[citation needed] In Rome the Vatican secretary of state, Cardinal Pacelli (later Pius XII), told the British minister to the Holy See that he had signed the treaty with a pistol at his head. Hitler was sure to violate the agreement, Pacelli said — adding with gallows humor that he would probably not violate all its provisions at once.[15]
The real issue was not, as the Nazis contended, a struggle with 'political Catholicism', but that the regime would tolerate the Church only if it adapted its religious and moral teaching to the materialist dogma of blood and race - that is, if it ceased to be Christian."[16]
When the Nazi government violated the concordat (in particular article 31), German bishops and the Holy See protested against these violations. Between September 1933 and March 1937 Pacelli issued over seventy notes and memoranda protesting such violations. When Nazi violations of the Reichskonkordat escalated to include physical violence, Pope Pius XI issued the 1937 encyclical Mit brennender Sorge.[17][18] quotation "Violence had been used against a Catholic leader as early as June 1934, in the 'Night of the Long Knives' ... by the end of 1936 physical violence was being used openly and blatantly against the Catholic Church.

Can you cite what you are referring to?

And--BTW--Rome is not the Vatican, although the Vatican is in Rome.

    http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2491/whats-the-true-story-on-south-american-nazis

Even if it is true (what is actually charged, rather then the conflagration of numerous hearsay anecdotes)--it appears that only one Bishop--an open Nazi sympathizer--was at the root of every story.

Even Jesus himself had a Judas.

Yes, I know people were swept up in the hoopla, but the vatican did sign a concordance with the Nazi, and the church participated in their events.

Obviously his actions are not what we today would call "Christian," however, he did do ALL of the things I have brought up - they are FACTS, and HISTORY, with documents and photos behind them - which makes it ridiculous for you two to be saying it isn't so, making snide comments, etc.

This first site has the complete text of the concordant pact.

    http://www.concordatwatch.eu/showkb.php?org_id=858&kb_header_id=752&order=kb_rank ASC&kb_id=1211

Note that artice 3 stations a Nazi at the Vatican, to represent their interests, and a clergy member to the Nazi.

This is the oath the vatican said the clergy would swear - article 16 -

"Before God and on the Holy Gospels I swear and promise, as becomes a bishop, loyalty to the German Reich and to the State (Land) of . . . I swear and promise to honour the legally constituted government and to cause the clergy of my diocese to honour it. With dutiful concern for the welfare and the interests of the German state, in the performance of the ecclesiastical office entrusted to me, I will endeavour to prevent everything injurious which might threaten it."

Article 22 - In the appointment of Catholic religious instructors, agreement is to be reached between the bishop and the state (Land) government. Teachers who, because of their doctrine or moral behaviour, are declared unfit to further impart religious education, are not permitted to be employed as religion teachers so long as this obstacle remains.

Article 30 - On Sundays and official holy days, a prayer conforming to the liturgy will be will be offered at the end of the principal Mass in parish, auxiliary and conventual churches of the German Reich, for the welfare of the German Reich and (German) people.

Yes he did! Many times - here is one.

My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. To-day, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before in the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice.... And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people.... When I go out in the morning and see these men standing in their queues and look into their pinched faces, then I believe I would be no Christian, but a very devil if I felt no pity for them, if I did not, as did our Lord two thousand years ago, turn against those by whom to-day this poor people is plundered and exploited.

-Adolf Hitler, in his speech in Munich on 12 April 1922

    ***
Hitler wrote: "I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.." (from Mein Kampf)

I'm really not able to take you serios. For me you are still nothing else than a brainwashed brainwasher. Learning by dying is not the art how to learn really somethgin within only one lifespan - and I'm not sure wether god will be generous and will give you a second chance after your death. You should start to fight for your chances in this life here. One thing you should immediatelly start to learn now: Take a look at your own mocassins.

April/12/1922? A short time later we arrested this criminal, isn't it? (By the way: I did not even read what you wrote what Hitler said (or said not)) I don't believe in the words of Hitler. And I also don't believe in the opposit of the words of Hitler. And if it is written what he said - or what he not said - or what's the opposit of this what he had said in english language then it is even much less reliable for me.)

Would be interersting to see you as a German in the gigantic streams of displaced Germans after world war 2 - giving everyone correct papers without any possibIlity to control only a little what is true or false what someone tells you - or to let someone die because you don't give him a passport.

There are many other but on Hudal who I assume you’re talking about, you are correct. He was a open Nazi Sympathizer who just happened to be elevated by the Cardinal Secretary of State to a position towards the end of WW2 which allowed him to save the Nazis he did and if you looked him up you saw he used Catholic Orginizations for fake Identities. Meanwhile The Pontifical Croatian College of St. Jerome in Rome (Catholic College) laundered Nazi gold to the Vatican Bank.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alperin_v._Vatican_Bank

The Vatican Bank, an entire institution of the Vatican refuses to release any records and come clean todate.

This is clearly an undertaking which obviously needed the collaboration between many of the Vatican’s organizations and high ranking officials Although, I’m sure the Pope would insist on saying otherwise while his minions did his dirty work of the Holy See. The Catholic Church was more than happy to side with Nazi Germany of Fears of the Secular Commies to the East.

It's not like you can blame them though. When you grow up being taught your religious leaders such as Saint Cyril of Alexandria who hated Jews so much he expelled them, or Saint Augustine who thought they are cursed some way or another, then we have the Shepards Crusade, ect. They where predisposition by their education, just like Nazi children.
