My point is You Are Wrong. Criminals can purchase guns legally.

How did probation work out? War on drugs? We're told all the time making abortions illegal won't stop abortions from happening and it won't be any different with guns. Most of these mass shootings occurred with legally purchased fire arms. look at Chicago it's got strict gun laws and one hell of a problem. Criminals will always find a gun even with a law in place.

You are having trouble with the freedom of movement concept. If gun laws were universal, you would see a drop in gun crime rates. The problem is gun laws, even gackground checks are not universal. They are piecemeal and people know this except you.

How many intruders will there be? Is there a law limits how many can attack you? Is there a law saying after only bullet fired per intruder that intruder must stop his illegal actions?
My answer is as many as it takes.

We have seen a drop in gun crime the last 3 decades with the relaxation of carry laws.

Not according to the law. You are poorly informed.

Nothing can be 100% effective or prevented. For instance, if a person wanted to kill you and have no fear of the consequences, it would not matter if you had a CCL, an assault rifle, body guards, etc. Eventually, you will die and the deed will be done. But that is not the point in trying to prevent mentally ill people to legally purchase guns.

Yet you don't see the disparity in the surrounding areas and where the gun crime is the worst where the gun laws are the strictest disallowing law abiding citizens the means of self protection.

Mass shootings at schools is not something we saw in this nation, until relatively recently in our history. Yet for all of our history, americans have had the right to own guns, and it used to be much easier than today, yet no mass shooting. So, obviously, logically, the problem is not the right to own guns, or gun ownership, something is going on with the American brain, and since we know that without a doubt, that we are all conditioned beings, what is it in the current conditioning, that is causing this? For therein is the CAUSE. I already know what the causes are, and there are multiple causes within the field of social conditioning. Yet will any liberal(I am an old FDR Progressive) admit to the fact of conditioning? That would be a rare thing, for a modern liberal mind, to admit to the obvious causes.

If one looks at how our kids were conditioned in the 50s, and 60s, by the society with its values, its entertainment, its lack of nefarious polarizing of the voters, the gas thrown on that, and then look at how the youth are conditioned today, therein, will be the causes.

The trouble with most people, is that the lack of self awareness, of one's own consciousness, the ability to actually see and understand that we are all conditioned beings, and that the conditioning makes a helluva difference, in the events in society that are horrible, as well as the good events.

But, the modern liberal only wants to take away the primary tool for violence and death, while never addressing the cause, as the low hanging fruits are easy to go after, even when they involve constitutional rights.

Actually, it can be proven by empirical evidence. If you take the proposed universal background check, rerun the same background checks of every gun purchaser, or at least a sample of them, then extrapolate the data in a valid statistical model, the drop in the gun crime rate would exist. The point is that at least 35% of those guns approved for the use, such as the Virginia Tech shooter, would have been denied if that background check had access to the prescription drug database that every state maintains.

I don't think Muslims should ever be allowed to have guns. A few mass shootings in recent years have been committed by Muslim terrorists. Anyone who would believe that garbage is obviously mentally ill.

Actually, through individual sellers in some states, convicted criminals can legally buy guns. There is no background check required on individual sales in many states. There are fewer states that require them than those that don't require a background check.

Wrong again. Convicted criminals cannot legally buy guns. Bone up on the law and come back with something factual for a change.

And what prescription drugs should deny ones' right to own a firearm? Who gets to decide?

Not according to this article. Both have seen a significant increase in homicides while at the same time the overall rate has either remained steady or declined.

There are lists of drugs that have significant dangerous side effects, but usually those drugs who are treating for significant mental disorders that have a tendency for depression or suicidal thoughts.

Or in other words, Tylenol with codeine would not be included, nor would insulin, or immune suppression drugs.

Correct. Felons are legally prohibited from possessing a firearm, much less purchasing one. The fact that they made a private purchase and circumvented a background check does not make the purchase legal.

Increases in DC and Baltimore and Maryland has some stricter gun control laws than most other States led by the progressive idea that controlling law abiding citizens will make a difference.

Please point out to me where I said we need to make guns illegal or abolish them.

I actually own guns myself. I realize that we can't prevent bad people from doing bad things, if they are determined to do bad things. That's not really the point. We don't have to help them do it by making it possible for them to buy a gun easily. I have a real problem pretending that we don't allow criminals and others that have lost the right to own a gun through their activity or mental state to buy a gun. We do allow them to buy guns. We don't intend that, certainly, but it can and does happen. That's not opinion, that's fact. Responsible people will pass a background check and can buy whatever they like, because they are not likely to be violent or use them in a crime. It's the people that wouldn't pass a background check and shouldn't be able to buy a gun buying one legally that is the problem. With every law passed, there are intentional purposes for it, and unintended consequences from it. One of the unintentional consequences from not requiring a background check on all gun purchases is criminals can legally purchase a gun that way. They don't even have to resort to illegal guns. It might be more efficient for them to buy illegally, but they can purchase legally.

A private gun sale between two people will not require a background check at all. The person selling the gun would generally not be charged and the possession of owning a firearm as a convicted felon would apply to the person who was a convicted felon if he is caught with a gun in his possession and that the inspection of the gun was done within the 4th amendment guidelines.
