Would you please link that law for me, since I am so poorly informed? I'd like to educate myself on this issue.

Laws restricting the mentally ill from owning guns doesn't violate anything in the Constitution, not even the first amendment. Anyone who believes in murdering people in the name of Allah and Mohammad is obviously mentally ill.

Criminals cannot legally buy a gun.

This. Every law abiding citizen of the United States has the right to keep and bear arms regardless of their faith.

The point is that Maryland has less laws than Washington DC. Even in Maryland you cannot have a background check on most gun purchases. Background checks apply to about 30% of all gun sales.

You are the one claiming felons can buy a gun legally, prove it.

Available data says 5 shots or less, but most of this is from police shootings. Civilian data is sorely lacking and the threat for LEO's vs civilians is not the same, but anecdotally it should be about the same.

It does if the state doesn't require a background check on individual sales. The sale is not illegal. The seller doesn't know they are selling to a criminal. The criminal certainly knows they aren't supposed to be able to buy one, but they are a criminal, after all. Why do we make it possible for them to buy from an individual seller without a background check?

If a Muslim is a law abiding citizen and does not have a known, severe, violent mentally ill psychosis, such as schitzophrenia, then they would be allowed to own guns just as a Buddhist or an evangelical Christian who wants no Muslims to be in the United States.

You have a link about transfers. A transfer is simply a piece of paper to be recorded of one sale to another. Yet, there are no requirements for a background check in this manner. One person or both must be present for the transfer to take place. And for most dealers, a simple affidavit would suffice.

I really doubt you have a 300mm b bolt rifle. 300 mm is more than 11 inches. You could not have even put in an extra 0 because 30mm is over on inch, talking about destroying meat. I would say you are not a gun guy at all you probably have a 300 mag of some type. And an AR 15 does not shoot 7.62 (30 caliber rounds which is the same caliber as a 300 win mag) it shoots 5.56 mm which is a 22 caliber round. An AR 10 can have a 7.62 round but not always. That being said an AR 10 using a 7.62 round with hunting type of round would work quite well for deer or similar sized animal. If you want to comment on rifles and rifle ammunition it would be nice to know a bit about them.

In this thread and others, I have.. repeatedly. You assure me I am misinformed. I used links, graphics, and quotes from reputable sources. You make accusations only. Prove me wrong.

What is law in one state is not law in another. As long as one state allows purchases without a background check on every purchase, other state laws intentions to control sales are negated. What is the problem with fixing that issue? It doesn't infringe on your rights to buy or own a gun. It doesn't infringe on any responsible gun owner.

I believe anyone who believes killing others in the name of Allah and Mohammad is mentally ill. That would obviously include millions on this planet. It's a plague.

Even if you passed a law that stated every gun sale had to go through a Federal Background check you would still have criminals buying guns on the streets. Again you would think the failed War on Drugs would teach people common sense..

Even with that the Federal Back ground check can fail as in the case of that wierdo in Cali that shot people because he couldnt get laid.

There is no perfect system and the only way to have an Aussie like fake utopia would be to confiscate as there is just to many guns out there already. Which is why Aussieland is just another failed talking point.

AR 15's have been converted to use 762x39 bullets. Here is one example or here s an AR 15 forum that says otherwise. it can be done, but needs some modifications.

For the 300, the "mm" was the mistake I made. I have the 300 B Bolt rifle in my possession.

If the gun buyer is a felon, it doesn't matter where or how the sale is transacted, the sale is illegal.

There is no perfect system and no one is arguing otherwise. Or to be more bluntly, even if you had a CCL on your possession, it would not prevent anyone from capping you if they really wanted to. So, you want the laws to go away because it cannot be 100% prevented?

What would happen if they said "Jesus told me so?"

They'd be mentally ill. Jesus never killed anyone because of their religion and Jesus never told anyone else to kill in his name. Mohammad did and even encouraged it in his evil book of hate and murder, the Qur'an.

there have been cases which a person said that Jesus told me to kill that person. Most notably was the 2012 killing of an abortion doctor by an anti abortion activist. So again, I ask, was that person mentally ill when committing that crime?

The only way they can go through a licensed dealer is with a background check.
