Then why did they vote to deny medical care to surviving infants?

I don't care what law was in place, I want to know WHY they voted to deny medical care to infants. Why do you and other dems keep dancing around that simple fact?

The essence of freedom is the limitation of government.

Our Republic was founded on that principle.

Few Americans subscribe to that founding ideal anymore though.

It is more complex than that. Democrats beleive the bill is a bill to ban late term abortions. The way the bill is read, any baby, say 26 weeks or older, in the womb, would be prevented to be aborted even when medically necessary. At least, how I read the bill. So, that is why they voted against it. It is not that GOP in the House cares about babies. They don't. They just want to ban abortion, at any and all costs because the hard-line pro-life groups are now demanding that from the House or they will withhold their vote. Ain't Democracy grand would you say?

"A limited government" has many connotations. The original intent of "a limited government" was that government can do what only the Constitution allows and does not allow. Modern conservatives believe that a "limited government" means that government is to not interfere, a laizze-faire approach, in which government cannot exceed the "will of the people" and that if the "will of the people" want a large military and a border that resembles a place like North Korea, then so be it. But the irony of the GOP is that they are all for freedom as long as that freedom is to their cause and no freedom to other causes, hence the abortion hypocrisy, the "prison reform" hypocrisy, and so forth.

 

That tells me clearly enough that you only have a RW spin on Marx and socialism. And though I know you would never take me up on this, I could prove beyond any reasonable doubt that you don’t know what socialism would be, and probably don’t know what communism would be. (FYI and just so you don’t make a mistake, I am NOT a communist.)

So where should an aborted fetus, that may be unable to survive without medical intervention their entire life go? Who do you want eating the bill for all the medical necessities needed to keep that fetus alive because the gop forced it to live?
