How did they know it was fake? Again it was a REPLICA gun without the safety tip.

More racebaiting.. Why? The "War on Women" failed you guys so now its back to throwing down the race card?

You dont shoot to wound. FFS this has been been gone over countless times.

How are they unable to apprehend a 12 year old with a fake gun alive?

What common sense? It was a REPLICA. In other words.. IT LOOKS REAL OUTSIDE OF THE SAFETY TIP.

If my twelve year old was out pointing a fake gun at a police officer and got shot, I would indeed blame myself. But then I actually taught my Son to never point a gun at anyone.

It's a 12 year old kid. At least make an attempt not to kill him.

I hope you'll forgive me if I don't believe you.

If this is the best we can do then our best sucks!

Step back from you anger or bigotry or what ever it is that you use to shut down your empathy and just think for a moment... it's a 12 year old kid!

The common sense that says don't point what appears to be a deadly weapon at a police officer.

A 12 year old is perfectly capable of knowing right and wrong.

A 12 year old perfectly capable of understanding that reaching for a gun (real or fake) when a cop has his drawn on you will most likely end in getting shot....especially when we consider the number of incidents involving similar scenarioas, especially when we consider all the news about fake guns that look real, etc. This is not like some isolated occurrence that is unique.

"12 years old" is not an excuse.

There is no anger or bigotry, so please stop with the liberal drama theater.

Now, how did you extrapolate "bigotry" from that comment? Really?

Plus, who else would I hold responsible for not teaching my Son to avoid pointing a gun that I gave him, toy or otherwise, at a police officer?

I know when I was 12 years old, I was in junior high school and I knew full well the danger in pointing what looks to be a deadly weapon at a police officer. I knew that when I was younger than 12.

Where do you left wingers hold parents and others accountable for their own conduct and the actions of their children?

It's a 12 year old kid who pulled a realistic looking gun out of his waistband after a cop told him to put his hands up. There is no bigotry here, only a cop who was doing his job and what he was trained to do and a dead kid who was never taught that you don't pull a gun on a cop, fake or otherwise, because they will shoot you. It's not rocket science. Hell it's hardly even news as much as it is another reason for the media to fan the flames of the fire that they helped start. Doesn't anyone else realize this or are you all too caught up in calling each other bigots and thugs to see who the real enemy is?

Yes, because little kids know how the law works. I'm going to hire a 7-year old legal expert tomorrow.

If it were your kid this happened to you'd smack someone who had the audacity to say this to your face... that's why people only have the balls to say things like this over the internet.

Was the kid raised in a home where he heard the male figure in his life yelling "burn this bi*** down" and a mother continually screaming profanities and f*** the police and such. Maybe the kid was just responding as taught by the adults around him?

No, if I was a father of a boy who was killed because he pulled what appeared to be a weapon on a police officer, I'd keep my yap shut and maintain a low profile because I would know that I failed to exercise common sense parenting skills.

If it were your kid you'd be singing a different tune.

Only a idiot would believe someone whose 12 year old kid was shot by a police officer would say " well it's all my kids fault, good job mister police officer that just shot my kid. I'm gonna ask your captain to promote you!"

So please forgive me if I believe your full of crap and you think it's only OK because it's not your kid!

Sell it somewhere else I'm not even remotely that gullible!

I think every 12 year old knows it's not a good idea to point a gun at a police officer. One doesn't need a law degree to know that. Now, if he's never been taught to respect anyone or anything, that's poor parenting.

I was taught from a very young age to not point a gun, fake or otherwise, at anybody much less a cop. Because they will shoot you. This is exactly what I was taught by my father when I was 6 or 7. That was over 20 years ago and it still applies today.

I have a kid, as soon as he is old enough I will teach him to never pull a gun on a cop and hopefully he will be smart enough to never do it. So don't tell me what I would or wouldn't do.

I was 12 once and I raised three to become productive adults in our society. None of the three I raised would have pointed a toy gun at a police officer and I certainly didn't.

Yeah it's people that are able to empathize with their fellow man that are causing all the problems... Not the ones that are full of hate and totally disregard other peoples feelings. Get a clue!

I raised three. It's really not all that difficult to teach a child things that everyone can understand. its only difficult if you are one of these who fails to assign and accept responsibility for personal conduct. Like this anomaly person.

Any one who proposes to know exactly what a 12 year old will do in any situation,( including ones they will never find themselves in), clearly demonstrates that they don't have a clue about 12 year old's!
