Because if we didn't do it, the world would tear itself apart, thats why. AND, they would all bitch and moan as soon as Russia knocked on their door and said, "hello, all this land is ours now". WE would get the blame for standing back and shrugging. Sometimes you have to lead all the children by the nose, because they don't know any better. It really is that simple.
It's not a theory, it's fact. Example: Norway Norwegian 83.2% (includes about 60,000 Sami), other European 8.3%, other 8.5% (2017 est.) https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/no.html http://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/norway-population/ Appologize
Don't you l;ove it when an alt-leftie compares a country with a poopulation the sixe of NYC to the entire US. Maybe this guy/gal/alphabet will tell us how Israel's immigration policy works. Lot's of people that refuse to contribute to society? NOT.
So, do you vote?? What does a candidate or party platform look like that you do/would vote for?? You don't live in the U.S.?? Is that right??
The end results matter far more than the interim conditions. Many who have won the lottery had a world of plenty and great times while they squandered the benefits, but had no real management abilities- and so, ran out of money and went bankrupt,; it's very common among them. Creating a false economy does something similar; it can create the illusion of success even while the foundations are crumbling and disaster is imminent. Obviously, it takes a lot longer to destroy a nation than a lottery winner- but the end result is the same, except that the destruction of the nation affects many millions, and they are not doing it to themselves with the exception that they allowed the wrong kind of government to come to power. Voters all like to see instant gratification, but responsible government looks ahead- 10, even 50 years ahead to insure that when they get there, the house will still be strong. That is the only way a nation thrives in the long-term. In this country right now- we have millions of people thinking only short term, willing to gut the future for what they perceive as a gain today... by destroying what works. Kill the golden goose for dinner, worry about where the eggs will come from later. Like Maduro, you want to blame something outside like "wall street capitalists". The Venezuelan oil industry decided that they could make the profits that the American and European oil operators were making by doing it themselves. Turned out they lacked the talents- and botched the job. I guess that is the fault of the capitalists because they charged more for their services than the government wanted to pay? Is anything worth the price the Venezuelan people are paying now? The seizure of the oil industry took place long before Chavez came into office. The path was already laid out. Chavez made changes- but didn't change the path.
You obviously looked up data to create a question- why didn't you pursue the answer? Obviously there is a vast difference. As I do business with some people in Norway, I get a little feedback once in a while. Nothing I've heard shows any similarities in the perceptions of the people or governments in the two countries at all.
News story just breaking: Ocasio-Cortez, chief of staff illegally moved $885G in campaign contributions 'off the books,' FEC complaint alleges https://www.foxnews.com/politics/oc...-fec-rules-to-hide-885g-fec-complaint-alleges Seems her condemnation of "dark money" doesn't apply to her own game....
You claim there are counter-examples. Supply two or three and you will have effectively disproved it.
Nope. You can simply compare their GDPs and the percentage of military spending in the yearly budgets to see they don't fund their military. U.S. taxpayers are funding their protection from future occupation. If Russia decided to establish the boundaries of the Soviet Union, Europe – without the U.S. defense umbrella – would not be able to do much about it. If the Soviets had decided to annex West Germany and more of Europe, they again would have been helpless to defend themselves without U.S. protection. They don't have bloated militaries because they don't need to. We'll probably agree on this: the U.S. should close all their oversea bases, remove the U.S. taxpayer defense umbrella and leave Europe (and Israel and South Korea and Japan) to their own devices. Europe could decide to fund their military or become a client state of another power, and we should not concern ourselves with them.
Interesting ranking, so... Finland is that much behind (# 17) Norway even when our country is similar to Norway (culture/geology). We have lot to do then, but our current government isn't helping much. Thing is that we need 10.000 software developers with decent experience and it's currently big issue, can't find enough right people - so I guess people are coming from other countries to work here. Bad thing is that Finland is far away from anything interesting, summer is really short, winter is cold as russian hell, etc.. it's harsh environment. Only few fools will travel all the way to fill those 'really needed' spots xD Still, Finland is ok country, maybe it's almost heaven for AOC, lol - I mean you really have to love socialism to be able enjoy living here
Are the doing of Wall St. and Saudi princes. The only thing they actually did wrong was being over reliant on oil sales. Otherwise socialism was an objective good (unless you're a capitalist that lost your tax haven). You can't point to sabotage as proof that something is inherently flawed, the whole point of sabotage is to undermine an inherently stable system (or it wouldn't be necessary).
If you don't recognize that socialism IS INHERENTLY UNSTABLE AND UNSUSTAINABLE- Back to school, fella. Study basic economics. Figure out how you can survive indefinitely on deficit spending and stealing other peoples money. Get back to us when you have got that answer.
Scandinavians vehemently disagree with the idea of socialism. They like a large safety net, but their economy is fundamentally market capitalist, not socialist.
The only thing done wrong by Venezuela is that the "socialists" at the top stole the country blind, and destroyed the means of oil production in the process. Socialism tends to go that way, because the top socialists think they are more equal than others.
What basic economics? We know that neoliberalism is failing. We also know that worker ownership is more productive. You've simply given a load of bobbins over "indefinite deficit spending" (which looks like a corruption of Keynesian support for capitalism). Perhaps you need to learn some basic economics before you derive a relevant point on the subject?
Won't work here. It works because Scandinavians are involved. They have a different and cohesive culture.
Have you? If you haven't, you should try it. There are still plenty of communes around, willing to take energetic new members.
