If you want to address the cause of this and not just look at how we can prevent one person from having a tool that allows him to inflict as much damage as possible we can talk about national healthcare and mental health screenings.

No, all I want is at least an attempt to return to normalcy, to see a few common sense laws passed that may or may not stop the weirdos that are presently in ascendance in US society.

Whether you or others believe it or not, care or not, in Virginia a young woman in high school was raped in the girl's room by a boy dressed up as a girl. If it happened there it could happen anywhere. Whether a law will actually stop the weirdos is another matter, but it might. At the least it would facilitate the arrest of such weirdos.

Full disclosure: a time or two in my life I have accidentally entered the ladies room in public places. While there I simply used the facilities. Each time they were vacant of other patrons. I realized there were no stand up urinals and my mistake after exiting.

 

No one authorized them to go into the girls bathroom. Schools that do are an accessory to such rapes.
