No,... Islam is paganistic by denying that Reality is The Creator, which DOES have a son, called Truth.
The "personification" was about Truth, which is the image and son of the Creator, Reality: John1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, (Truth: [John 14:6]), and the Word, (Truth, itself), was (synonymous) with God, (i.e.; Reality or Father of all Nature), and the Word, (Truth: [John 14:6]), was (indistinguishable from Reality), God (almighty for all men). He, (i.e.; as Truth, the symbolic Word to come: [Jud 1:3]), was with God, (i.e.; Reality), in the beginning, (Gen 1:1). ALL (real) THINGS, (Phenomenally speaking here), came into existence through "him," (i.e. the concept of Truth), and apart from "him," (i.e.; Truth), not even ONE thing came into (man's mental model of the external world, or our) existence (except by Truth).
God is Reality, the Creator. The son-of-this-god is Truth. Truth is the mediator by which men can understand Reality. There is no other path to Reality than Truth.
I only need one part of the bible. That's the doctrines teachings and examples set forth by Jesus christ. The rest is superfluous. As far as the scripture let me show you how I read it. First he is EXPLICITLY accused of calling himself God. That is the charge for which he is answering in this scripture. Now what is the very first answer? His first response is "is it not written that God said, "ye are gods"? He's referring to the judges. If you look up the scripture in the OT he's talking about the judges who received their words from God and then gave that dictate to the people. And why were they called "gods"? Not because they were gods but because the word of God came to them as he states in the next verse. "If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken)..." Then he goes on to REFUTE the charge the he is calling himself God(notice also the clear differentiation he makes between himself and God). "do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world that I am blaspheming because I said I am the SON of God?" So he tells you what he's saying. He's not saying he's god. He is not even saying he is the same as the judges in the OT who were called gods. But he is the SON of God because the father sanctified him and sent him to us. He then goes on to tell you how you can know that he is of God. Because he does the work of his father and BECAUSE he does the work of his father, the father is in him. He denies the charge of calling himself God. He tells them who he TRULY says that he is, the son of God... And he tells them why,.. Because he is obedient to god.
Simply not true. As Jesus told you,"with men it is impossible, with God all things are possible." Matthew 5:48 therefore you shall be perfect just as your father in heaven is perfect. There is scripture after scripture stating we are supposed to be like Jesus and without sin. For instance, "he who says I know him and keeps not his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. I can show you a couple people in the bible who didn't commit sin and followed all of the commandments and ordinances of God and were blameless in his sight.
What purpose was there to dying for sins? If not to have people saved to achieve eternity in God's kingdom?
All humans are now sinners. It's even a sin to deny being a sinner: "1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." (1 John 1:8-10 KJV) I think you were using John earlier. Also from John. http://www.keyway.ca/htm2012/20120211.htm So, please provide the sinless people in the bible.
In regards to that quote, just because we HAVE sinned does not mean that we must continue to do so. As for the scripture of people who were without sin: Luke 1:5-6 there was in the days of Herod the king of Judea a certain priest named Zacharias of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron and her name was Elizabeth and they were both righteous before God walking in ALL a the commandments and ordinances of God and were blameless in his sight. As far as your misunderstanding of John. Here's 1 John 2:6 he who says he abides in him ought himself also to walk just as Jesus walked. And last. 1 John 3:4-10 4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
God made a promise (a will and testament) to Abraham that his descendants would inherit the entire earth (and beyond). Jesus dying was to show the world that his death allows his will and testament to be put into place. If you're a Christian, then you immediately become apart of the body of Christ. In other words, you are immediately considered an heir to the promise God made to Abraham. To be considered a Christian, all you need to do is believe Jesus died for all of our sins, was buried and rose on the third day. That's it. Plain and simple. The effect and range of God's promise is so effective, that once you believe in Jesus just once in your life, you can never lose the inheritance. What that means is that, if you at one time believed in Jesus, but then one day decided not to believe and become an atheist, you will still inherit God's promise. There's nothing you can do to lose it. Nothing. The inheritance has quite a few perks (which I can list if you wish).
Alright. I told you I wasn't going to debate you. What I can tell you is that you absolutely do not believe in the Trinitarian doctrine. So, when I asked you whether you believed in the Trinity, you were better off saying "No". I take back my claim of you being Christian or not. I was wrong in saying that, because it's simply not true. You are Christian, because (I believe) you believe that Jesus died for all of our sins, was buried and rose on the third day. If you at least believe in that, then you're Christian. Not believing Jesus is God is an entirely different issue, but that issue is moot. Once you return to God, everything will be made clear to you anyway, and this conversation would be meaningless. So, please accept my apology.
The list does go on ... it's true. In fact, I just had a "vision from god", and he gave me some very important updates for the bible. Do you believe me?
many Christians would disagree with you on what a christian is. So who is correct? And by what authority are they correct?
