Well then that hypothetical book should not be banned IMHO.

So you don’t actually care about keeping children away from this type of content — you just want it banned on topics you don’t like (just as colorful pieces of fabric) but you seem to support topics speaking of child rape, incest, murder, torture and the seminal emissions of animals.

    How disturbing

It took me a couple of big deep breaths to blow the above strawman down.
Was there a sale on straw or something?

according to the law Republicans passed, the bible meets the criteria of harmful, so really that is the end all be all... unless the law is repealed\changed

I am sure everyone will note that you didn’t deny it.
If you were blowing down strawmen you wouldn’t be in the positions you frequently find yourself in.

Do you agree with the Bible being banned in public schools and libraries? Will you be ok with armed protests outside of places that read it to children?

States are now passing similar bills, but adding language to exclude the Bible, basically admiting they know the bible would fail the test, but do not care

"Iowa GOP passes education bill that bans books with sex and limits LGBTQ instruction"

    https://www.desmoinesregister.com/s...with-sex-restrict-lgbtq-teaching/70130190007/

"The provisions include the mandatory removal of any school book that describes or visually depicts a sex act. It exempts religious books, such as the Bible."

Look I've already said go ahead and ban the bible from school. Have a press conference and make a big deal about it. Be sure and tell any parents who object how ignorant they are.

If they want to ban other books for objectionable content but cry like babies over their Bible being banned for the same, then they deserve to be mocked for ho ignorant they are.

You are free to engage in a book banning campaign if that's what you want.

It's interesting they made a special carveout since they know the bibles includes things they are banning books for. Now the question is why are religious textbooks exempt other than to promote religion.

and remind them republicans passed the bill banning the bible in their schools

but let's be honest, we were all in school once, did anyone ever see any of their friends checking out the bible from the library - lol, the book is probably never touched unless it needs a dusting

I'm not sure who is crying in your example. I've not seen that in the article.

You are seriously claiming that Christians have been fine with the Bible being banned from libraries? That entertaining.

See, I am trying to have a serious conversation here, and ignore the pouty preteen imitation you are providing instead of engagement. To follow a strand above, age appropriateness, is not just about content or subject. In my day, those grade school libraries did not have a Bible and they did not have the works of Shakespeare or any of the other Great Books of the Western World series because young kids could not understand the vocabulary or complex sentence structures any more than they could the ideas. Which 11 year old is going to read even two consecutive paragraphs before dropping it? Nor did they come up with 'kiddie' versions of same. So lets just ban the books because they are a total waste of space in that environment and move this discussion to middle school.

Can we agree on that at least, without the wounded snooty tone?

It was a generic title to describe a type of book.

An actul book in this idiom would be: "Heather has Two Mommies"

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heather_Has_Two_Mommies

Which has been banned fom various schools and libraries.

    https://www.marshall.edu/library/bannedbooks/heather-has-two-mommies/

    It doesn't feature circle jerks.

    That's a constitutional fail.

A religious book is just a book to the non-religious when presented in a secular setting.

No as I said it's not what I want but it may be what's needed to establish equality under the law.

I'm confused as to the relevancy of this post.
    Another confusing post.
    What is your point here?
I honestly don't know why anyone would teach the Bible in a school.
