President Biden on Thursday authorized US military leaders to deploy as many as 3,000 reservists to Europe in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The order is intended to augment US troops already overseas as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, the president said in a statement released by the White House after his five day trip to Europe, during which he attended a two-day NATO summit in Lithuania.


I do not support this in any way. It is a foolish act and will lead to more deaths in war for our country.

'Biden's order, announced Friday, comes after tens of thousands of reservists last year were sent to Europe after Russia invaded Ukraine.'

'Trump said after the order was issued that it will prove dangerous.'

"Joe Biden can't even walk up the steps of Air Force One without tripping," Trump said. "The last thing this incompetent administration should be doing is pushing us further toward World War III."

'Trump also repeated his declaration that if he is reelected, "it will take 24 hours" for him to end the war in Ukraine.'

Based on what? Certainly not the last WW, that was made possible by the opposite of escalation. Aka appeasement in the face of illegal invasion…kinda like what we’re seeing right now.

We're not allied with Ukraine, and we're not the world's police.

If we were, and we didn't declare war on Russia the instant it invaded, THAT would be appeasement.

Sending them arms is just prolonging the inevitable. If you want WAR with Russia, petition congress. Nobody wins proxy wars (except for the arms manufacturers).

Escalation is how to get war from someone who doesn't want it. Russia doesn't want war with NATO, and 99% of the people who live in NATO don't want war with Russia. Escalation is how war is nonetheless achieved so the rich and powerful can get more rich and powerful.

I think this is less about Sleepy Joe trying to start World War III and more about several years of declining Army recruitment is leading to troop shortages. Usually any slots unfilled by active duty units can be easily filled by volunteer Reserve, Guard, and IRR troops, but I think they are just too few of them this time, so they are having to involuntarily activate some. Also I suspect most of them will be backfilling positions here in the states by deploying active duty and they won't actually participate in the exercise directly.

For example, Sims said commanders in Europe might decide a Reserve unit is better suited to handle certain tasks than active-duty troops who are already there.

“The United States European Command is preparing to use new authorities in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, in continuation of U.S. commitment to NATO collective security, peace and stability,” Navy Capt.
