All people that make MONEY off of it. That is the best you got? We should mutilate kids so other people can get rich? Strange!

I only have the one link I came across. Business Insider.

Florida courts could take 'emergency' custody of kids with trans parents or siblings — even if they live in another state
    • Florida Senate Bill 254 would grant courts emergency custody of kids who receive gender-affirming care.
    • The bill, introduced Friday, would also allow the courts to modify out-of-state custody agreements.
    • The bill would grant officials authority under the law that protects kids from domestic violence.
A proposed bill making its way through the Florida State Senate would allow the state "emergency jurisdiction" over children who receive or are "at risk of" receiving gender-affirming care — or if their parent receives it themselves

There is nothing even remotely objective about this determination. All of the actors that you mentioned are instead relying solely upon the highly unreliable word of a pre-pubescent child before altering them forever. That is downright frightening.

Fortunately, only a scant percentage of the population supports your position.

No it's not a scant percentage that support liberty and body autonomy. It's not a scant percentage that feels policy should be based on Data, not emotion. Nice try.

They also might believe in super-man and santa clause. Should we start pushing them out of windows if they identify as "person with flying abilities"? you want little kids to be in charge of their own bodies? Just think it through. They can't know their sexuality before even hitting puberty. Maybe they like girly things more than "manly" things. So what? That isn't a reason to start hacking off body parts. I know plenty of men that are into fashion over cars, 90 day fiancee over Top Gear and so on! This does not require surgery. its serious business and can't really be undone.

    Are you sure about that?

Poll: Nearly 80% Of Voters Oppose Transgender Procedures On Minors | The Daily Wire

"The overwhelming majority of Republican and independent voters oppose gender change treatments for minors, while Democrats were divided. 96.8% of Republican voters, 84.6% of independent voters, and 53.2% of Democrats said that minors should wait until they are adults to pursue medical transition."

Your position is in the minority even amongst Democrat voters, and from both Independents and Republicans, your position is basically universally rejected.

Abortion can't be undone either, if they feel this will save lives good on them.

This isn't an abortion thread. it is YOU that brought that up TWICE already because you cannot find ONE SINGLE GOOD REASON to mutilate children so you try and stray the topic.
    NOT ON MY WATCH
How is mutilating children "saving lives"? keep abortion out of it. I'm mostly pro choice so you are barking up the wrong tree. Most of those people having abortions are ADULTS anyway

Your previous statement was just undeniably proven to be absolute rubbish, so instead of owning up to that reality, you just figured you would try changing the subject?

Fortunately, you represent a fringe minority position.

I just told you. Now you want an answer excluding the reason?

Let's exclude the emotion and go by the science, when is it the most effective time for the procedure if it's going to be done?

Probably, hence why our freedoms are being eroded. It's not changing the subject, I'm invalidating your appeal to emotion.
Answer the question if you are honest.

Well the whole entire condition is based on emotion because they don't FEEL like the gender they were ASSIGNED at birth.
    IMO 16-18
Even though the human brain doesn't stop developing until the age of 23, I think a person knows if they want to try and be a completely different gender before that.
Seems reasonable to me. They are young adults at this point and not CHILDREN

You believe that our freedoms are being eroded because the lunatic fringe, of which you are a part, wants to allow permanent life alteration based on the whims of pre-pubescent children.

    Gotcha.

Fortunately, your belief represents only a very tiny portion of our society.

You got nothing if you came to that fallacious conclusion.. You also didn't answer the question.

There is nothing fallacious about polling consistently opposing your position. You represent a minority opinion. There is nothing there to even remotely debate.

Hell, your opinion is in the minority amongst Democrats! Thank goodness your position is only the lunatic fringe. Do you realize there are pre-pubescents that still believe in Santa Claus? You are talking about an age where children are clearly not capable of understanding the consequences of such a life altering decision.

People don't wake up at 18 and suddenly have the ability to have identities and make choices in reality, only legally. Before that, their guardians are the safety net for bad choices. If the person who knows them best and has protected them all their lives agrees with them that hormonal therapy will help make them better, that's between them and the doctor and the doctor and his medical board for standard of care. Not republicans who don't understand the conditions or the persons involved.

Thinking they are missing an arm, versus wanting to be missing an arm, are different things. One is a simple delusion, likely treated like other psychotic disorders, while the other is a desire to be of a certain identity.

I would approach it like anything else in medicine. If there's data available on outcomes, follow the data, if not, use the clinical judgement of an experienced physician in the relevant field, one of which would be psychiatry. If amputation really were the treatment that would deliver a better outcome, such as far less likely to die by suicide, it would be reasonable. One has to keep in mind that gender dysphoria treatment is basically asking to be sterilized. That's serious, but not like being disabled serious. And we know the harm we are protecting against is lowering the risk of suicide and depression. I suspect for the condition you're referring to there are better treatments than amputation, but I would evaluate it by the same harm vs benefit criteria as anything else in medicine.

Once again, when is the most effective time to have the procedure done if it's going to be done.

My position is backed by science and freedom, not emotion. Pretending like it's just the child's decision is the fallacious part. Supporting the state, over family and individual freedom is your position.

My position aligns with your answer to the question, not some earlier age strawboogyman ignorant authoritarians like to make up.

The most effective time to have it done is when the person is an adult that is capable of making such life-altering decisions.

Pretending like they are not relying solely upon the word of the child is what is fallacious. If there were some type of objective measure that doctors or families could point to, that would be perfectly fine, but since there is not, you ONLY have the word of the pre-pubescent child. That is not enough.

I'm of the opinion that family supported self neutering is better then an abortion. So i just prefer the trans gets it done before then. In a perfect world, no one has unwanted children, and even better if they don't before 18.
There isn't a valid reason to support DeSantis or that policy makers bill that takes children. What's the plan once the state has the kids, conversion therapy?

I don't understand why you seem to think that abortion is analogous or belongs in the same conversation as pre-pubescents chemically halting their puberty.

I don't understand why you think that a pre-pubescent child is capable of grasping all of the ramifications of deciding to neuter themselves based on their pre pubescent perception of the world.

I am a pretty open minded person, but IMO that is simply beyond the pale.

I don't understand why anyone would feel its a separate issue, why else would someone want to neuter themselves? Forcing them to wait only increases the risk of an unwanted child.

I also don't understand how it's analogous to pedophilia either, but what ever I let those people expose their disgusting fantasies.
