Except that things have changed a lot since 2020.

There was a riot on Capitol Hill, for example.

And those who believe that the people won't go to the polls to block Trump haven't understood anything about what happened in the last midterms.

This guy inspires terror in at least 60% of voters.

    That was Then...
    This is NOW!
A lot of people thought that Dewey was going to defeat Truman in 1948...
Anybody hitching their wagon to "The Dems were wrong about Trump in 2016", might as well be debating Ceasar's Chances on the Ides of March...
    Ancient History...:bored:
However, speaking of RECENT Presidential Elections...
    Such as 2020...
Look at how many Trump people were conned into thinking that Biden had no chance?
The BIG Difference between 2016 and 2020, was that in 2016 EVERYBODY (Myself included) Was Predicting Hillary and ALL of the Major Polls (and Prediction Sites) had Hillary Winning Handily.
So, there was No Shame in being 1 of the 7.7 Billion People (about 99.9% of the World Population) who failed to see coming the biggest political upset in history...

BUT, in 2020, Everybody KNEW that the pollsters had learned their lessons in 2016...
So, Everybody KNEW that the polls that showed Biden Winning were Accurate...

So, it is unfathomable that anybody would have bought into the delusion that Trump actually had a prayer...

    I absolutely love those threads
They were so sure — ignoring poll after poll

The number of people that went so hard and just vanished after the election were either to them being bots or being too embarrassed to show their face again. Happened in my family too.

This theme park is the states leading employer. And biggest tax benefit to our state. It’s a battle he picked that would have been best avoided: personally it does show he has zero shot on a national level. Biden vs Desantis would be a blowout for the Democrats.

False, they are not a tax benefit to the state in any imagination.
The ONLY taxes Disney pays is for ticket sales. lol

    It doesn't show anything. lol
And Disney picked this fight. Now that they are losing they are crying about free speech.

Disney absolutely pays taxes to the tune of over 700 million. This doesn’t even take into account the taxes it paid the Reedy district. Calling Disney not a tax benefit is extremely laughable and discredits you.

Run Ron he won’t make it out of the primaries anyhow.

    Yeah, thats ticket sales

    Thats paid to themselves. lol

Says the poster who thinks paying taxes to Reddy Creek has anything to do with Florida,

That is until DeSantis took Reedy Creek Exemption away. Now the Reddy Creek Taxes are paid to Florida.

    Which is EXACTLY WHY:
DeSantis should pass on the race and wait until 2028...

To claim they don’t pay property taxes is outright WRONG. 27.1 Million!

“Disney said it has fully paid the 2022 tax bills as it fights the assessments. Disney submitted its tax bills, which, for the No. 1 park in the world, the Magic Kingdom, was $12.8 million if paid by Nov. 30. Epcot’s tax bill was $14.3 million.”

Also, you’re going to be shocked at how many Republicans do not support his fight real soon

Considering how he has been completely outfoxed by a company that makes cartoons the idea of DeSantis trying to negotiate with the likes of Putin should make anyone afraid.

The downside is that other companies thinking about relocating to Florida are now going to think twice. If Florida can just rescind any agreement made with a company because the company engaged in their 1st Amendment Right should make any company considering Florida think twice.

I love how all the Anti government righties are fan boys of the man who has literally weaponized the state government of Florida.

Aren't the righties in congress currently creating a committee to fight the "weaponization of government" ? Thats literally who DeSantis IS !!!!!

Wait till this clown actually goes to court against Mickey Mouse and gets his a$$ handed to him....

Reedy Creek was NOT Disney. Two separate entities. Yes Disney got to say who sat on the board of Reedy Creek but money paid to Reedy Creek belonged to Reedy Creek.
The money paid to Reedy Creek? That paid for the maintaining and building of new roads in the district. It paid for maintaining the sewage system in the district. It paid for the police, fire and rescue in the district. These are things that the people of Florida did NOT have to pay for. When Reedy Creek issued bonds for some of these expenditures these were bonds that the people of Florida were NOT responsible for.
Meanwhile for these "benefits" Disney still had to pay any state taxes that any corporation on the state of Florida had to pay. The money generated by the tourists coming to Disney stimulated the Florida economy. The businesses that were not Disney that benefited from the tourist dollars paid taxes to their respective counties and the states.

I wouldn’t know. Depends on how far the governor wants to push it. A state should never assume a Corolla won’t be willing to leave no matter how “hard”’you think it will be.

Yet everything was fine and dandy until the day after Disney made speech the government didn’t like. That’s literally a 1st amendment violation.

If you make a major investment in a company the day before a big announcement and you walk away with millions, it reeks of insider trading.

The timing of this is far too coincidental.

Its not a 'clarification.' Its a bill designed to promote one specific politician's ambitions. I do not support govt legislation that targets one specific person for favoritism or punishment.
