Not sure it’s needed. They appear to be winning by playing out the clock.

I think "clarified" is the key word here

    Florida
Title IX, Chapter 99, Section 99.012 of the Florida Statutes states:

(3)(a) No officer may qualify as a candidate for another state, district, county, or municipal public office if the terms or any part thereof run concurrently with each other without resigning from the office he or she presently holds. (b)The resignation is irrevocable. ... (8) Subsections (3) and (4) do not apply to persons holding any federal office. Subsection (4) does not apply to an elected officer if the term of the office that he or she presently holds is scheduled to expire and be filled by election in the same primary and general election period as the federal office he or she is seeking.
*Note: In 2018, the Florida legislature expanded an exception to this rule. Prior to 2018, candidates for President and Vice President were exempt from resign-to-run laws. That exception was expanded to include all federal officials.[5] The text above reflects these changes.

Looks like five states have resign to run laws and three specifically exclude federal.

This is the kind of abuse of power and corruption El Caudillo would bring to the WH. This should be a wake up call to everyone, been those who do not yet see we are dealing with a pure bred authoritarian politician.

Its majority. DeSantis trails by up to 40 points in some States

See above, it only clarifies what has existed.

If and when he announces, that's very likely to change and his numbers will trend upwards.

I doubt it, because everyone knows he was only waiting for his cronies to modify the laws to make it possible for him to run.

This is just more evidence that the legislature works for DeSantis and not for the people . Why the big rush to do this clarification? Right now? Why did reedy Creek suddenly become a problem the day after disney spoke out against DeSantis?

None of what he does helps Floridians.
The governor has incredibly convenient timing for himself.

Can you imagine the uproar if a democrat governor abused power like that? Oh wait, no need to imagine. They beat up their gubenatorial abuses every day.

why would you want to require him to resign his position in order to run? Be honest.

You dont think Floridians would prefer to keep the man they elected if he does not win the presidency? Seems to me, this clarification helps citizens a great deal.

Why shouldn't it be clarified when in fact he is not prohibited from running for President?

It’s just the oh-so-convenient timing of it all. If he’s already not prevented, when why this huge emergency to fix it?

I will be around to remind you of this when a governor who is a democrat pulls similar shenanigans. Oh, wait, I’ve already seen it. Carry on with your hypocrisy.

I’m sure all Floridians are sleeping more comfy these days, knowing a crisis has been averted. Whew. *wipes brow*

Until a few weeks ago I didn't realize that DeSantis and McCarthy were two separate people until they were mentioned in the same article. Oops!

DeSantis is very forgettable despite being in the news all the time in his battle with Mickey Mouse.

Well, you obviously didn't look at the second link. Trump was in the 80 percentile.
Forget your "denial" line. Your cherry picking on a matter that changes constantly, which I DID prove.
