Calling a women the C-Word or Slut is really thought provoking!

So if you go to a Chris Rock show ... pay close attention to the thought provoking Jokes.

BTW ... lest know where Rush's next Stand-Up is.

while it maybe 'thought provoking', Maher and Rush both have the right to say what they want.

Hold it NOT according to the President.Of course don't forget this pile
of hyporcrisy as President had a good belly laugh when Wanda Sykes
made a joke about wishing Limbaugh died, last year at the
    White House Correspondents Dinner.
I mean, this President is just a flat out instigator.

LOL, the left has been such a failure in trying to silence people like Rush that they now are well funded and organized just to silence opposition. Sounds to me like a bunch of gangbangers.

Actually NO. In order to Protest one has to be Organized, maybe even
apply for a permit.Stand outside a Bank and Protest by yerself and
get arrested for disturbing the Pease.
Plus earlier this week a new Protest law HR437 was Proposed
and voted on.Only in Congress voted against it.

Sorry for not being more clear. No, I don't think the namecalling from either man is thought provoking. I was referencing Limbaugh's rant on the idea that government funding of birth control is the equivalent of tax payers funding someone's sexual behavior. I don't agree with him at all, but at least he was making a point (one I consider idiotic, but a point nonetheless).

Can anyone explain to me what the point was of Maher calling Palin a female body part? It's pure misogyny. Seemingly done just to provoke laughter.

Yes, I get that one was a stand-up routine while the other was "entertaining" political commentary. I'm not persuaded that such a difference justifies the behavior of either one.

The rest doesn't deserve a response.

Government dictates to business is trampling on property rights though. That is clear. What in the constitution gives the government the right to dictate what business does with it's own property with the exception of protecting the public from monopoly, fraud, or illegal force. As it is, the government is now participating in illegal force by mandating participation in buying HC insurance.

Maher is more than just stand up entertainment. He has his own show on HBO where he always invites politicians and commentators to discuss his viewpoint on politics. That ain't standup. Calling a woman a c_nt is far from humorous when you know he is a political commentator.

I don't disagree, but this is a topic for a separate thread. This one is about the behavior of Bill Maher vs. Rush Limbaugh.

I don't think it's humorous, period. That was my point - whether it's standup or political commentary, I find it inappropriate. It's a rare exception in which the context doesn't inform in a way that alters my opinion.

So how do you explain why conservatives are so upset over Maher's words, yet rally in support of Limbaugh's? Is that a matter of "Limbaugh is a conservative, so that sort of behavior is perfectly acceptable and reasonable political discourse, while Mr. Maher is not, so that sort of behavior is absolutely unacceptable"? If that's not the case, please explain how conservatives aren't using a double standard in this situation.

I suspect you'll get an answer like the Green River Killers' reason for killing ...

*I picked sluts & prostitutes as my victims because I hate most prostitutes and I did not want to pay them for sex*
