Catholicism. Catholicism is centralised, hierarchical and extremely authoritarian. It stands in complete opposition to Islam, for example, which is about as diverse and disparate a religion you can get and which has nothing like the hierarchy of Catholicism. For me Catholicism sits comfortably with absolutism such as the Divine Right of Kings. I’m just glad that rubbish has gone.

Clearly you did not read post 65. Jesus commanded his followers to do 2 things, those 2 items are called the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.

The Great Commandment is (Matthew 22:36) "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment." That's the Christian God Jesus is referring to, not an abstract religious concept.

The Great Commission is (Matthew 28:16) "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. "

Both require a Christian to live the Christian philosophy at home, at work, in the public square, in politics.

It is par for the course on this forum as hate filled right wingers continually make up stories, fail to back up their claims with proof, and then abandon the thread. I continually report these threads but nothing is done to stop all this hate and deception. Thus, the most we patriots can do is to repeatedly refute their hate filled lies by posting the TRUTH.

 

We used to pay more than half in taxes years ago and we were fine with it. We could easily pay more in taxes without affecting our life style at all.But I thank you for fighting for me to get a tax cut I don’t need and I will fight for people who need the tax cuts. We just have different values
