America is 5% of the worlds population.

Meaningful changes will never be done without getting China & India onboard & I don’t see that happening “ever” without force.

CO2 could not be significantly reduced in any democratic state. The voters would not tolerate the economic harm. Plus global warming is beneficial.

You do understand what Arborday.org is, correct?

They sell shrubs and trees, and ask for membership dues. Yes, they do share some information, but I wouldn't call them a scientifically driven group...

The US is the only region in which the temperature measurement stations are at least 90% rural and therefor immune to the heat island effects of cities and land-use contamination. The plot is significantly different from the so called Global Temperature trends which are contaminated both by heat islands and using sea surface temperatures which have nothing to do with radiative warming.

And you prefer those, over the one I posted. Interesting how two supposed government websites differ...

I'll grant you, there is one government website on that list that might have information, but it isn't the one you originally posted. It you were attempting to validate your point, why wouldn't you go for an informational site first?

You bring up a great point and one I need to research more. I know the french and others are using a process to reuse spent nuclear fuel rods. How far has that technology dispersed and is there a way this process, or a similar one, cause be used to make spent rods inert.

Thorium reactors have zero risk of meltdown, however, our nation went with uranium reactors because we wanted the plutonium from uranium-powered nuclear plants to make bombs.

We have known about the potential of Thorium since World War II but did not pursue it because it lacked weapons applications.

Thorium is three times as abundant as uranium and nearly as abundant as lead and gallium in the Earth's crust. There is enough thorium in the United States alone to power the country at its current energy level for over 1,000 years. America has buried tons as a by-product of rare earth metals mining.

There is much less nuclear waste—up to two orders of magnitude less, eliminating the need for large-scale or long-term storage.
The radioactivity of the resulting waste also drops down to safe levels after just a few hundred years, compared to tens of thousands of years needed for current nuclear waste to cool off.

One ton of thorium can produce as much energy as 200 tons of uranium, or 3,500,000 tons of coal.

Dead on. I used to date someone that worked a NCAR Nat Center for Atmospheric Research, In the 90's the Clinton admin held $50 million dollars of funding over their heads, They never made any threats but held the money back until they all pretty much knew what was required, back Al Gore and get your money. Simple choice. GE has made billions with the climate change scare and they just keep making more bank. Solyndra anyone? I have an idea to catch sunlight in a bottle everyday and then store those bottles in a box to be used at a later date, when the sun is not shining, can I get democrats to float me a few million dollars to do more research on that. No? Doesn't anyone care about the children? Any democrat that doesn't give me the money is racist.

What evidence do you have that the “Roman period” was a global event?

And since then there has been how many republican led governments?

Now tell me how this operates for Australian scientists and British scientists and Japanese scientists?

This is how "climate" scientists make their living. They get big bucks to deliver. They certainly do not want the money to dry up, so they, as leftists, give leftists what they want. Read up on it.

If I can make sense of the waffle here

    A) the atmosphere is huge
    B) it has regular system of flows and temperatures called climate
    C) to change that system requires either a change in input into the system or a change in output (radiation)

In other words the climate! Like you underwear does not change by itself

Nobody is seeking to achieve an “optimal” climate

We are hoping to avoid mass extinction

    ???

    China is leading the US.

They are ahead of us in clean energy patents, in clean energy equipment manufacturing and export and in installation within their country.

They are installing more than two football fields of active solar per HOUR.

Beyond that, we are not even second to China.

What do you think needs to happen for the US to try to compete in clean energy - an industry where we employ more people than in coal, but still are leaving dollars on the table?

    This clearly is not true.

Science is not on your side on this.
